Lake Okanagan Resort - Kelowna

Price was good for a suite with a kitchen and the view of the lake was gorgeous. The road was very steep and it was difficult to walk around. The road to drive to the hotel was very scary with driving on the side of steep clifs with no guard rails.

Staff was very friendly. When we got to the resort we were informed that they had upgraded us from a studio to a one bedroom suite with lake view. We had only one night booked with a great price on Expedia and when we asked if it was possible to extend our stay three more nights they matched the deal we had on Expedia without even us having to ask. A bit disappointing. Hotel situated in a lovely location but rooms very dated and needs complete updating. Corridor outside rooms was a bit foreboding. On the plus side the staff were very helpful and welcoming.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location was close to town but you felt as though you were miles and miles away. Peaceful, beautiful and scenic. The staff were friendly and very helpful. For the first night we were put in the Expedia discount room by the stairs, which had traffic in the wee hours of the morning. Upon awakening we brought that to the attention of the front desk and were kindly moved to the upper floors of the hotel and had a marvelous sleep.

The hotel is very old and dated, definately not worth what you pay, the staff is rude and unhelpful, the resort is not close to kelowna as advertised and they stay was horrible. The food at the restaurant was not good either.

The physical condition of this hotel is terrible. I was very UNIMPRESSED that this so called resort can charge this type of rates. This was not an ideal place to stay. The food was so behind and slow me and 10 others canceled our order and left. I do not reccomend this hotel.

We liked our room (1 bedroom) but the building we stayed in was old and the stairways/walk ways old. Crazy maze of stairs/walklways to get to our room. The roadway to our room was also in poor shape. The pool deck wasn't swept or cleaned from the day before and it seemed that the place just wasn't being kept up. Pools, and beach are nice. Lots of activities, but is offset by the lack of general maintenance. For example the elevator looked not to have been vacuumed in many months...

We were placed in the "far away" block which is nowhere near as nice as the "near to" the centre blocks. You need to be careful as they are NOT the same. did not stay ,,had to be in Kelowna for hockey try out... the person helping me booked me 35 min away from the bridge,,,,,basically in Penticton.....,had to cancel...get a map...very clear where we had to stay....... if we were here we would have to travel over the bridge and probabl 60=75min car ride...not working for us...will try again.....

Hotel was clean, comfortable with all the necessities provided ( kitchen, tv, bath etc.) Staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. Location is a bit out of the way but amenities (golf, swimming,tennis etc.) make up for it and the drive on the hillside road is a thrill. The deer resting in the back garden was a nice touch.

The hotel is old and need to renovate. The service was horrible, no wifi, when we called the front desk asking about wifi, the answer was yes there is wifi service and promised someone will check, but no follow-up at all. I won't recommend anyone and for sure I won't come back to stay again. The stay was dreadful.

We enjoyed the room; it was clean, comfy and bright. Unfortunately the hotel does not provide robes for guests for the pool/hot tub or free ice. We tried to use the coffee maker on the morning that we were checking out (didn't use it the day before) only to find that it did not work. When we told the front desk that we had a long drive home and would […] like coffee before we go he said he'd tell housekeeping. When no coffee maker arrived after 45 mins we left our room to check out. I read former reviews about the aged condition of the resort, and I have to agree with the comments. The grounds were extremely unkempt, even for early spring. We saw large debris and old worn out machinery or equipment lying around, the plants were in poor condition, the trails, while easy to walk, were not well marked. And we could not find the places […] that were highlighted on the trail maps (like the historic cabin or native ceremonial site), the decks needed sweeping, the pools did not appear to have been prepared for winter as the water was stale and stagnant looking, not like the online pictures. The gift shop did not have a good selection of souvenirs.....BUT, it was very early in the season. The location was so beautiful, and the staff very friendly and accomodating. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a one bedroom suite, and it was PERFECT for my needs. I can't imagine having had only a view of the woods in the studio suite that came with my package. Our view was just gorgeous, rooms were well appointed, comfortable, well stocked with dishes, pots, etc. and we managed light meals very easily. Service was immediate and pleasant. Parking was easy, only when no one else was parked behind our building. Otherwise, we had to walk up stairs with our bags, and any groceries. We were given access to a barbecue, and that was a real treat. I would absolutely return to this resort another time, but maybe in the fall. The view, the staff and our room made it PERFECT!! I have stayed at Lake Okanagan Resort many times over the past 20 years, and I have never known it to be this poorly maintained. The room smelled like mould. Very nice room, quiet and clean, bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Didn't have much of a view from our deck but if you want to view resort and lake it was easy and convenient to get out and walk around.

The hotel was not as advertised. The rooms were quite old and in need of remodeling. The web indicated something quite a bit newer. In addition, there were several features listed which were not in place at the facility. The pool areas were good and well kept and the beach was good.

We stayed 6 nights in the #200 block, the studio suite needed a good clean, carpet needed a vacuum and old candy found under the bed from previous occupants, the kitchen/fridge, bathroom and very noisy sliding balcony door need to be replaced.
