It was freshly painted and attractive, for an older moderate hotel. Bathroom had been refurbished. Quiet water beach ( not like the Atlantic side) made for pleasant safe swimming. Also had a good little area for snorting at the rocks. Food was quite good, for the price, (especially compared to the restaurants nearby at the Marriott ).

We were looking for a nice and safe hotel to relax on the beach, swimming, eating and/or dancing in the hotel or in it's neighbourhood with friendly personal and also friendly taxi drivers around. The hotel has a great location and the staff are sweet, but the rooms are "meh". The rooms are dated and show signs of wear; cracked tile, built up dirt in the corners, poor water pressure, etc, but it is reasonably clean and safe. Considering the alternatives, it is a good place to stay in St. Kitts.

Overall this was a nice hotel but it needs updating. The reception area is a throw back to the 1950's. The landscaping was excellent. The room was clean but it needs redecorating. There was also a serious ant problem. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel was located on "The Strip" so it was close to dancing and good restaurants.

The hotel really benefits from the location, being right on the end of a beautiful bay, the beach is rather narrow, but the shallow tropical waters makes up for that. The hotel common areas are pretty decent and nicely maintained. I circled the island and I think this hotel has the best location. It is comfortable, relaxed and has a local ambience, which the big resorts lack. I thought it was very good value for money and I highly recommend it.

If you want a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay that is right on the beach and very reasonably priced, this is it. It is true island style, without glitz and glam. Directly on Timothy Beach, one of the best snorkeling and swimming beaches on the island, this is an older hotel, being one of the first "resorts" built on the island. The hotel […] is well-maintained and clean, while not fancy. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are very large, clean, and quite comfortable. They have a phone, remote control A/C and cable TV, and large balconies with lounge chairs and table and chairs. Bathroom is small, but clean and has a large shower. The beds are not new, but they are comfortable. If you ask for a king bed, however, it will be 2 twins pushed together cruise ship style. There is a fridge in the room and a grocery store is nearby, along with several nice restaurants. The beachside, open-air restaurant serves a good, reasonably priced breakfast (we did not eat any other meals there)and makes a great place to sit and enjoy an afternoon drink. There are several beachfront bar/grills on the beach beside the resort that open in the afternoon and stay open late into the night. We were at the Marriott for a week and then moved over to Timothy Beach for our last night on St. Kitts. Although TB was not up to Marriott standards, we enjoyed our stay very much. The location is great - walk to a Caribbean side beach with a collection of casual bars and restaurants right there. And our front porch view was far better than the one we had at the Marriott for twice the cost. Loved being on the Caribbean-side of the ocean(s). Location was perfect in proximity to the airport, wharf & restaurants we desired. Older resort, but well-maintained. Clean room, friendly staff, convenient pool & beach. Great neighborhood. Would definately stay here again.

This hotel puts you far from the beach even if you upgrade to ocean view. I guess you have to get a suite to be closer. Our bed squeeked every time we turned over and it was LOUD. The hotel itself is a little dated by todays standards. The high score on the staff us due to juliette and the ladies in the kitchen who made us feel like family from the first time there. We usually wouldn't eat at the resort as much as we did on this trip but our 14 month old enjoyed the attention from the ladies he even learn how to call me dada […] from juliette instead of papa. We stayed at the Marriot on St. Kitts for one week, and then at Timothys for another week, so we have the ability to compare. Timothys is SO MUCH BETTER!! It has a friendly, laid back feel, it is RIGHT on the strip on a BEAUTIFUL piece of beachfront on the Carribean side (which is so much nicer than the Atlantic side, where the Marriot is).

I spent 10 days at this hotel. At first I was a little skeptical because it's not a fancy place but the room was clean & the bed comfortable. The people were so friendly. Always a hello or good morning. The attached restaurant had very good food all fresh prepared. No heat lamps around here! . The waitresses Juliette, Page & Dale were very friendly […] & pleasant. The restaurant is also open air & on the beach. People were coming from the Marriot to eat here. Prices were reasonable. Every afternoon the fishing boat would come to the beach & sell their fish to the little restaurants. Now you can't get any fresher than that! The Dock beach bar was terrific. Clovis the bartender would start fixing my Kittian Sunset (have one if you go it's the best!) as soon as he saw us coming. Sunday nites there is a BBQ on the beach.The beach was clean & the water crystal clear a little difficult getting in & out because of rocks but you learn to navigate around them. There are no waves really to speak of & the water a pleasant temperature. Just a short bit down the beach starts a row of beach,bars some with restaurants. Shiggitty Shack has a large bar & very good food. Every nite something else is going on, bon fires on the beach, Kareoke, all kinds of music. Cathy's Ocean Grill on the beach has the BEST Ribs & Rice ever! None of these places are fancy, but friendly people & good food make you want to go back for more. They remember you too! We didn't rent a car Uncle Millie & his taxi took us wherever we wanted to go & knew where we could get what we wanted. A lot of places were within walking distance including the Marriot. Along the way is a convienience store, liquor store, coffee shop, pizza place, Cio's italian restaurant...Excellent fresh made pasta a bit pricey but worth it & the best Fettuccini Alfredo I ever had. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Cons: We stayed 8 nights here during the low-season. The room we received was in line with the room rate. Although the hotel was virtually empty, they would not give us even a basic upgrade. We had ants in our room, a 1960s box-type wall hair dryer, and a bathroom florescent light that loudly buzzed when turned on. This hotel needs some renovating. Though it is on a good beach and has good, low-scale restaurants available, it requires a $10-25 one-way taxi ride to get to other beaches or high-end restaurants. No public buses serve the area.
