pillows are uncomfortable. coffee maker didn't work most of the time

Satisfied with stay experience. There was some nasty mildew and rotted wall damage next to the heating unit, but otherwise perfect and clean.

We booked this last minute for a trip to DSM for an event. The hotel was brand new, clean, front desk was very friendly. The room was small, beds and climate control in room were not good. Had problems getting on WiFi. Breakfast was sufficient, pool area was clean, but you couldn't take beverages in to the area. reviews were not all positive, but we were very satisfied. Hotel is right next to fairgrounds, which is where were going to attend a food show.

Eric was very helpful and very patient with all the customers and kids running around. He was the nicest of all the workers we encountered. The rooms were small and crowded, didn like having no room to move the desk chari without running into the bed and having the other bed right up against the heat./air conditioner

I have stayed at this hotel twice and been comfortable there in the room and hotel in general. The breakfast is better than a typical continental breakfast, but you should get there early so it doesn't disappear quick. My only worry when staying at this hotel is that somebody will break in to my car. I noticed broken glass in one of the dark back corners […] on this stay. Property is dated but okay. My room was clean. I would never stay here or recommend because the housekeeping staff ignored my DO NOT DISTURB sign and attempted several times to gain access prior to check-out time. Very rude about this. Front desk called and I informed them that I would be out at check-out time and I was actually out half an hour before. […] I was checking out on Sunday and I seriously doubt the place was going to fill up Sunday night. If housekeeping couldn't work past 10am then they should have blocked the room for that night and cleaned it on Monday. Great pool, clean, nice rooms, a bit small. Nice breakfast, friendly staff. A bit far from Adventureland

Customer service was absolutely lacking. Anytime we needed anything from the front desk, check-in, check-out, etc, we had to wait for five minutes minimum before someone showed up to ask us what we wanted without so much as an apology. The employees were always eating when they were helping us also. Breakfast was a complete joke. Stale english muffins, […] cheerios, or make your own waffle was all that was offered. They had run out of milk and coffee and the lady working was very rude and pushy as she cleaned up around us. The room was clean however and nice. For the price it wasn't bad, but I had several complaints about it. 1) The air condition in my 2nd floor room didn't work. I opened the window which made it cooler, but there was a lot of noise outside. I told the receptionist in the morning about it and she said she'd have someone look at it. 2) Neighborhood was shady. Bed so hard that I would of slept better on the floor. Parking lot so small that when they are full not everyone can park in the parking lot. We were pulling a trailer when we arrived and we were quickly told that we could not park a trailer in their lot. Later on trailers were parked in their lot. We left to get some supper and when we returned there […] was no room to park. Staff told us we could park on the street but not much else they could do. Really feel for what I was charged for room, I should have a least been able to park in their lot. Rate was over priced for what we got. Two things I will never do again. I had a state competition and took my team to stay at this hotel. It had a much higher rating on the website than it does now. Reviews even looked good. I chose this hotel because of the price (school did not pay, we had to), location, and reviews all together. When we got there, the receptionists were bored and watching TV. They did treat us well […] though. I got our rooms and one of the chaperones had a terrible time. Their room had no running water and the room they offered next from their "ready" list was a mess. To keep all of our team together, they had to move all of the rooms to a new floor. Then, the room that poor group got did not have enough towels. Another room, had liquid splatters behind the end-table. Girls did not appreciate that the hotel was across the street from a bar. On the other hand, my room was just fine. Good location, decent neighborhood. close to the fairgrounds. Clean hotel, very friendly staff, property maintained very well. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel during the Iowa State Fair, and it was a great location. The neighborhood is kind of scary, but so close to the fairgrounds and seemed secure after concerts.
