Everything was nice and fine and in good condition, but the Hotel is a little older, maybe built in the 50's or 60's and our room smelled a little stuffy, but not horrible. Our room had weak Wifi signal, we could connect, but just barely and it kept dropping out.

We have stayed here several times and never been disappointed. The hotel is clean, the staff is very helpful, and the location is fabulous. Our dog was a welcomed guest too. Will stay here again for sure.

Hotel is 2 blocks from Ocean Ave, very convenient. Breakfast was adequate, not much room to eat it as it is in the lobby with hardly any seating.No coffee maker in the room, but coffee and tea in the lobby all day.

We were very comfortable for three nights. Never used our car after arriving because of the convenient location. The wi-fi was many times faster than even the most premium hotels. Furniture was a bit dated, but the mattress was new and we got what we needed in a "standard queen." Renovations coming later in 2013. It was surprisingly good - the room was spotless - the bed comfy - the staff was extremely friendly and responsive. Parking was adequate - the location was perfect - within walking distance to restaurants, downtown. Pet Friendly - Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Bathroom was cramped, but bed very comfortable, and room clean. Great central location, but quiet as well. There was no restaurant as we thought when we booked. Overall very nice stay.

Wow, what a relaxing place! Plenty to do, see, and eat! Amazing resturaunts and the beach is only a 15 minute walk from the Hotel. Location is perfect, everything is within 2-3 blocks. Highly recommended!

Needs some maintenance and updating. One side of drapes needed a hanging rod that was missing to pull it closed. hard to get drapes and blinds toclose completely to keep out light or view. TV was not a flat screen, and small. Controller didnt work consisently. Bathroom old but clean. However it had a slide window to exterior, and ours had no locking […] mechanism. No microwave or frig. We enjoyed our stay at the Carmel Lodge. We were in the older section of the hotel and the rooms were much smaller than the room we stayed in last time. The view was wonderful and we could see the ocean. We did have a light out in the bathroom, but overall it was fine for two nights. We definately would stay here again. I felt that the housekeeping should have done a more thorough job cleaning preparing for the next guests. Found a used tissue under a table & a used towel on a bathroom door hook. I did report this to the front. Otherwise we had a nice stay, clean beds, great location!

Superb location. Reasonably ean, but very basic. Essentially an in town motel. Barely adequate water pressure. Old school tv had poor reception. Not bad for one night, but no frills. At $100 a night would have been great. But at 299 it was overpriced. The redeeming value is that you can walk anywhere in Carmel from here.

No coat hangers in closet and hotel could not provide any. We had better accommodation at much lower rates on the remainder of our trip. I would not stay here again.

Nice bed, new linens, but very old, a bit grimy, tiny TV with very few viewable channels. Carpet seemed a bit gross. Bed was comfortable, Room was clean, bathroom clean but terribly small, (Think European). It's an old motel / hotel but convenient location. Excellent Coffee in the reception from the Carmel Coffee, Fog Catcher!. Book earlier and find more hotels to choose from but in a pinch for one night, last minute,it worked.

I wanted a hotel where I could have my dog, and they did accommodate that, but another $35/night was added for that, on top of what to me was an already high price for an ok room. My only issue was the lack of a coffee maker in the room. They do offer a continental breakfast it not until 8am and that's a bit late for some of us business travelers.

Very little for the price. I booked this hotel for the location and a great location w.as all I got. The room was small with no air conditioner, just a small desk fan in the room. The woman at the front desk looked and acted like she would rather be anywhere else. Just nothing for the money

My husband and I just returned from Carmel and we were both extremely happy with the hotel service and room! The room was very clean and extremely spacious! Wow! And the location of the hotel is within walking distance to the ocean and to downtown Carmel.

The hotel location is fabulous, right across the street from Casanova restaurant, right on the edge of the gallery district. The beach at the end of Ocean street is just a couple of blocks away. We purchased two rooms, one from a family member from Canada and ourselves. Our family members room was a queen with a non-working fireplace. Ours was a king with a balcony. Besides the place looking closer to a one star motel, with old sticky, smelly carpeting; the rooms havent been updated since 1985, there is a strong moldy smell coming from them […] and there is a feeling like you just don't want to touch the sheets or blankets. I am really not one to complain about these things and I get the "you get what you pay for notion". The biggest problem is at checkout, we had the doors clearly marked do not disturb and check out time is noon. At 9:30 am when we were at breakfast the cleaning staff came in, stole our camera, dumped our clothing and bags out and stole the cash tip we set out for the maid. When we talked to the cleaning supervisor, they did nothing but argue with us, gave the camera back and took the money for themself. I would never, ever recommend this place. Pročitajte više

This is a nice, little hotel. Bed is very comfortable. WiFi is free. I chose this hotel because it is pet-friendly, and I wanted to bring my dog with me. There is a $35 charge to bring a pet, which is a bit high. Hotel is conveniently located just blocks away from the shopping strip and the beach. Things I did not like were the towels and noise levels […] outside the hotel. The towels kind of smelled like wet dog, so I'm glad I brought my own towel! We reserved the queen standard. All rooms were advertised to have shower/tub combination and coffee maker. The room we were first given didn't have either a tub or a coffee maker. The wife looks for rooms with tubs when we travel as it is important to her. We complained and they moved us to a different queen standard room which had both tub and coffee […] maker. The new room was much nicer. The office isn't really open 24 hrs. You can ring a bell but sometimes they don't come. We like fresh coffee beyond what we make in the room and the office isn't open until 8am. We get up earlier than that and we had to go to the Shell station next door for coffee. The breakfast is served in a tiny space where people have to stand to eat and it really is awkward. Other than these things the place is fine. Internet was good and lots of channels on TV.
