Everything was good, except when we returned home and discovered an overcharge on our debit card. The wine was $24.00 and they charged us $44.00. I have emailed to notify them and received no response. This is the first time we stayed there, we usually stay down the street. First of all the staff was very nice....and that's where the good begins and ends!!! The room was just not good,the bathroom WAS clean,(good news),the chair in the room had a leg missing so it became a rocking chair!!! The beds and sheets where fine,thankfully!! The floors where ceramic tile and by the time we left my flip-flops has so much caked on […] fine grite I had to scrub to get them clean AND I NEVER ONCE wore them outside!!!! I get this place is right on the beach but...... really??!! The thing that really made us crazy is they DO NOT offer coffee in any way shape or form!!!!! My husband & I have been in many motels & hotels over the years,we are seniors and this is the first & only place that DID NOT have coffee!!! BUMMER!!! That will be the first and last time we stay at Sandy Shores,even though the price was very affordable,we would rather pay a little more and be comfortable,we never felt that way!! Oh,plus the TV was from dark ages,terrible & could not get the closed captioning off,very annoying if you don't need it. We love this area,but we will never go back to this place!!! "Nice place to get away"
Stayed here off season. It's right on the beach - what more could you ask for. Small clean room. Bed was comfortable although a little squeaky. The area is very quiet this time of year - no restaurants open ect.- but, we were only 20 minutes from the casinos. I stayed at the Sandy Shore Motel with 7 other ladies (in two rooms) as part of a bachelorette weekend. The building is right on the beach, which was super convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel isn't very fancy, but it was clean, well-maintained, and reasonably priced. It's also nice that Sandy Shore doesn't have a two-night minimum […] for stays... it's one of the few places without that requirement in this town. "Close to everything"
Overall I was very satisfied with my stay here. The staff were very helpful and personable. The hotel is literally right on the beach and the construction others mentioned (they are building a patio type thing on the beach) really had no effect on our stay. The hotel is walking distance as well to several restaurants/bars. The only downside for some […] might be that it is literally across the street from a bar so we could hear music/voices etc at night. Personally, this didn't really keep me awake so it wasn't much of a bother. The rooms are honestly a bit outdated, but clean other than some sand on the floor (which would probably be impossible to get rid of completely given the proximity to the beach!) "We stayed in a closet for $300 a night"
Hotel was on the beach, that's about it. We literally stayed in a closet that had double doors opening to the walkway, which you were able to see through the non adjustable blinds and stare right at our bed. "On the ocean waterfront"
We were allowed early check-in, which was very helpful with a tired toddler, but were a bit taken aback when given just a standard room when we had booked a suite. The hotel office manager was quick to remedy the situation and we ended up in their second best room(from what the maintenance staff shared) on the third floor (which means a lot of stairs, […] since there is no elevator). YET, the suite was very nice, and overlooked the ocean with a bay window in one bedroom. They have a private beach, but none of them (private beaches) seem so private when people can walk down the entire length of the beach from the state park. The hotel is extremely convenient for walking to restaurants, stores, etc and we would stay there again for the same reasonable rate. "Poor management and extremely dirty"
This hotel is counting soley on their location for their success. We stayed on the 3rd floor and upon arrival the room was extremely dirty, the floor was covered with sand, the drawers had not seem a rag for ages, the toilet bowl and sink were very dirty. We booked for two nights so after the first night we decided to ask the housekeeper to please sweep […] the floor but when we came back we noticed that the floor had not been cleaned at all. To top it off some guests (two rooms down from ours) decided to have a very loud party, including fireworks, yet no one from the hotel interviened. The staff seemed tasked only with policing potential outside parking not w/ guest satisfaction. Add to this full on construction in season and you have two very dissatisfied guests. Sandy Shores has a wonderful location right on the ocean and was fine for what we needed, an escape from home while work was going on and it was the right price. Since we were there in early March, it was quiet. In mid summer I can imagine it being noisy and crowded. The caregiver was helpful when we checked in but did not seem to be around much. Trés belle plage de sable et de grosses vagues qui ont fait notre bonheur. Mise à part une structure en construction face à la plage non terminée qu'il fallait contourner et qui n'était pas très jolie, la plage était propre.
