Many of the staff were able to speak some English which was a great convenience for anyone who does not speak Spanish. Having stayed in many hotels around the world, this is the best we've stayed in. Historic, interesting, comfortable, great service. Can't say anything against it.. It is a must to visit if you go to Guatemala. The museum is worth visiting and the grounds are phenomenal. Rooms were clean and spacious.

This time room overpriced for a very worn and basic room in newer part a lovely old hotel--as far in back corner of hotel as possible it seemed. Beautiful 5 star hotel, great amenities, truly one of a kind. Service is a bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel: Not so friendly and helpful. Also, the Hotel has contract with local vendors and takes commission, so they dont provide you full honest information that is available in town to the tourist. Absolutely beautiful hotel, but very very big. Takes a while to get around, almost like a large resort amidst a small city.

The hotel is in a ruin of a covent. Included in your accommodation is a free visit to the ruins which you should take. At the beginning of your stay because so there are so many visitors to the hotel as a tourist attraction is seems strange but the visitors are not allowed into the area where the rooms are and they also disappear in the evening. The hotel was an absolute delight. We loved everything about the hotel. The surroundings are beautiful and romantic. Great mix of old and new. Also enjoyed the facility at the top of the hill - del cerro and their restaurant.

Too much noise pollution. A wedding party next door that lasted until 5 am Saturday moring. At 9 am Saturday an outdoor live band concert next to the property.

Absolutely gorgeous!! My husband and I were only there for a couple of nights but I would have loved to stay longer. Fantastic experience living amongst the ruins of a convent. Service was impeccable and the amenities of museums, ruins, crypts, artifacts, and charming room with fireplace far surpassed my expectations.

The Casa Santo Domingo is a stunning hotel with an amazing museum on-site (with complimentary entry for guests). Spread over the grounds are a pool, spa/treatment centre, open-air church service area (mass on Sunday at 10am) and communal outdoor seating area. The breakfast buffet was Q115 for an amazing selection of fresh and hot food, as well as fruit, breads etc. The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating. We arrived early and they allowed us an early check-in. We hiked the Pacaya volcano the next day and they let us have a late check-out so that we could shower afterwards. nice place. Food decent. Very clean. Had trouble getting our bathroom with the right towels. No bath towels left after first night. Had to call for more. It has the name and pizazz but my since that there are many as nice at a lower rate.

We have never such a beautiful convent. Very well maintained patios, very refined details, interesting little museum, excellent restaurant, large room with chimney... A place for pictures

Beautiful hotel grounds which are essentially a museum and archaeological site. The place oozes with history. The artwork, landscaping and grounds are worth exploring at a leisurely pace. The place just adds to the overall experience of staying in Antigua. Rooms can be a little warm if not equipped with ceiling fans.

My girlfriend and I were down from Texas for a wedding, and when we pulled up in our taxi, we weren't that impressed. BUT, like so many places in Antigua, the outer facade did not even begin to do the hotel justice. 1/3 museum, 1/3 botanical gardens and 1/3 monastery ruins, this hotel was not only beautiful but incredibly unique. Muy buena comida, excelente spa, el entorno del hotel brinda una escape del día a día. Un poco retirado en comparacion a otras opciones, esto puede ser bueno o malo depende de los planes y e objetivo del viaje. Mi esposa considera que las camas estaban un poco duras al igual que las almohadas. Overall great.

Verdaderamente es un hotel de 5 estrellas. Magnífico, atención del personal esmerada y amable. Instalaciones magníficas. Volveré pronto.

El hotel tiene un ambiente muy agradable y sorprende con museos, fábricas de chocolates y de velas, una iglesia recuperada de las ruinas del antiguo convento y unos jardines tropicales muy bien cuidados. El spa es muy recomendable. Muy recomendable para pasar unos días en La Antigua de Guatemala.

Alles wordt in dit hotel tot in de puntjes verzorgd, van zodra je binnenkomt, wordt er voor je bagage gezorgd! Deze wordt (manueel) naar boven gebracht, wat soms zeer zwaar is voor de bell-boy. El Hotel está muy bien, hermosos entornos monasteriales con patios amplios con lindos loros de colores, piscina, habitaciones cómodas con balcón, eso si recomiendo chequear muy bien la utilización de la tarjeta de crédito porque es garantía y aplican pagos voluntarios para acciones benéficas de 1 dólar y todos los otros pagos sin necesidad de que uno […] firme el voucher al final de la estadía. Cudado con pedir el taxi en el hotel debido a que cobran 50 dólares cuando lo normal son 30 dólares y lo cobran directamente a la tarjeta y por lo demás no es un taxi sino una van pareciendo caro para el servicio prestado. Es hotel es una autentica maravilla la rehabilitación esta realizada con un gusto maravilloso mezclando imagenería del sg XXVll con obras de arte contemporáneo. chimenea en la habitación , restaurante magnífico.
