The fan for the heater was only about 25% as loud as other hotels in the area where I have stayed--so I really appreciated that, as well as having a small fridge and microwave in the room. "we cane for class reunion, close to Placer"
everything was wonderful, only complaint I had was the electrical plug in by the phone was real loose, told night manager, I use a portable concertrator and a bi pap machine so important for them to stay plugged in, had to put something under them to keep in socket, just a lot of use, need to be replaced, otherwise a wonderful stay, very quiet and clean, […] close to everything, very happy we chose you. "Really nice Motel 6"
My husband and I have stayed at the Motel 6 in Auburn twice now. We like the friendliness of the staff. One morning we asked the desk clerk to recommend a good place for breakfast. With a smile she directed up to a "locals favorite" just a few blocks away. The one draw back was that the pillows smelled of tobacco smoke, even in our non-smoking room. For a cheap motel, Motel 6 is consistently clean and decent. This motel was obviously a nicer inn at one time, so it was a little better than your average Motel 6. The staff was very friendly and helpful, however there were no tissues in the room or toiletries. Overall it was better than I expected. Horrible stay. Started with rooms that were very hot and took an hour to cool down. After room cooled down a strong cigarette smell over took room. Front desk was disagreeable and hung up on us when we asked for a new room. After i went down to express my outrage they reluctantly gave us a new room. Although newroom was not smokey, again it was hot […] and took an hour to cool. Several burn holes in sheets and blanket, no remote for small tv, shower door broken and shower handle broke off. The hotel room itself was "superb" and the one issue we had (shower drain failed to drain) was addressed immediately. Also, the air conditioning, minifridge, and bathroom surpassed our expectations of a Motel room. The reason for the "oks" in two areas were: we are in a non-smoking state (California) and we could smell smoke on the first two floors […] (our room was on the third, so we still enjoyed our stay). The second reason is that the first front desk staff person seemed in an altered state of mind. We enjoyed our stay, we felt comfortable, and we'll go back if ever we need a room in Auburn again. The hotel was filthy, there was very thick dust around the perimeter of the hallway, entryways and the rooms. An edge attachment for the vacuum would be a welcome addition for their cleaning crew. I have stayed at this hotel in the past. Boy were we amazed at how the hotel has turned into a place we will never stay at again. No radio/clock for wake up. No shampoo. bath towels that were small and thin enough to qualify to dry dishes. Very bad smell. And you couldn't get to your room without the place wreaking like smoke. One of the best Motel 6s I have ever stayed in ! Was told it started life as a Super 8 as the architecture and construction are VERY un-Motel 6. Interior rooms,two story BUT NO elevator. I needed a place to stay for a week that was affordable in the Auburn area and this was the cheapest. Place is maintained and very clean. Free internet was fast, when I checked in, because they saw I was staying a whole week they asked if I wanted a refrig and a microwave-nice!
