Colony Palms Hotel - Palm Springs

Loved our stay, ground are beautiful, feeling is intimate. The only complaint we had was that the bed was too soft for us. They very nicely moved us to another room but the bed was not any firmer. If you have a bad back this might be a problem for you. Still we really enjoyed it.

What a fantastic place - it's like a hidden jewel. The Colony Palms exudes Old Hollywood. It's charming; it's sophisticated; it's in a great location, within walking distance to what you want to do and see on Palm Canyon Dr. We spent some time just relaxing by the pool, but it does get quite busy. Great place to hide away and relax.

Fantastic place to stay. So good we went back a few days later for a second visit. The staff were very friendly especially the Australian girl on reception. The pool area is so relaxing. We had a great time. Also the restaurant served excellent food.

Stayed at the Colony over the weekend. It was amazing. Went there for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend, and couldnt have asked for a better time. I took my dad here for 2 nights. He needed a change of scene and I needed some warm, sunny downtime. Colony Palms was just right. The price thru HOTELS.COM was very good. The food is creative and tasty. - esp. the desserts. The restaurant service was "immature." It seemed like the hotel recently hired a few kids from college who hadn't yet been trained. […] The chef is excellent, and there was experienced staff, they were just offset by the inexperienced. But that's a SMALL nitpick. Rooms were quiet and lovely. This is an adult hotel, meaning it doesn't seem to attract families which was good for us. The hotel is excellent! The staff was always there when you needed them and invisible when you did not. Rooms were nicely appointed, clean and the beds were awesome. The entire expereince was very relaxing. The only complaint I can come up with is I wish they had a better white wine selection - but that's it.

Our room was at the rear near the parking lot. Our patio faced the parking lot however we didn't spend much time there as the lounging pool area was fabulous. Wifi in our room super slow - better near the pool. The staff was incredibly nice and chill. The restaurant was great! One thing we found annoying was the piped in ambient/lounge music which started at 11:00 am and continued until late. Spent a very pleasant 2 nights at the Colony Palms. Very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful Spanish style decor/design. Quiet for sure and nice walking distance to downtown and very nice restaurants just a couple blocks away. Friendly staff and very clean orderly rooms. Bathroom very large in our unit.

Colony Palms Hotel is a nifty resort/spa in old Palm Springs, about a block off the main drag of shops and restaurants and across the street from the community center. It’s fully enclosed in buildings or walls and sports immaculate plantings which create both privacy for the guests, relaxing green “gazebos,” and a cool surrounding for the pool and restaurants. […] The plantings extend throughout the complex, so, if you’re in one of the ‘outer buildings, you journey through them on the way to your room. Although the building and grounds are exceptional, it’s the cheery, young staff that give CPH a jaunty atmosphere. That and the pictures of half-naked women caressing each other in your room! Seriously, the entire complex has been expertely remodeled (the hotel started in 1938) so that its ambiance is distinctly modern, although it uses a period theme. You can see a good gallery of pictures of the site on their web site. Special attention syould be given the resort’s restaurant, the Plum. WE happened to be there on Valentine’s Day and found it’s a favorite of the locals. Having eaten breakfast and dinner there almost every day, we can say that it’s the food and the setting that sells it. Expertly done and replete with a yummy, varied wine list. The staff was the least professionsal, knowledgeable, helpful I have ever come across. They had no idea how to even give directions to their own hotel. They did not show us to our room which was no easy task finding as the rooms are scattered around. No help was offered with luggage. We were not given the room we paid for (given a downgrade instead!) […] Just horrendous service. Noisy place. You can hear everyone passing outside the room. Our fridge was broken and water leaking out of it. To top it all off, although our hotel was prepaid, they still charged my credit card at then end, only to find out later from our credit card company. The restaurant they recommended was probably the worst Mexican food we have eaten for some time! The only up-side was a jazz singer they had on Sunday morning. She was pretty good. Having said that, like it or not, you have to listen to her first thing in the morning, as the sound travels throughout the place! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Loved this hotel. My husband and I agreed to come back for a weekend getaway in the near future. Our room was lovely, upscale finishes throughout, complete with a well stocked bar! Excellent hotel -best we had whole holiday. Comfortable, scenic & well appointed. Can`t find anything to complaqin about apart from evening menu which was perhaps a little too `fussy` for our liking. Cosequently ate out every nite. Breakfast however was superb.

I asked for a quiet room, and was told that all rooms are quiet, so when I asked exactly where my room was and I was told it's on the ground floor near the pool, that is open 24 hours, I thought it best to request a room far from the pool. We loved our stay with the exception of the continual music throughout the hotel. We were lucky enough to be at the hotel with no one in sight...but, in the evening the music never ended that plays everywhere throughout the hotel grounds :o It was like a scene out of the shining with a perfect hotel, drinks at the bar in the evening, no one in sight […] - and everywhere you were, that music wouldn't stop! We had to eventually call the front desk to request that the music please be turned down.
