We tried to connect for 2 days with 5 diffent devices and despite connecting to the network, navigation was impossible. After being in Paris for the weekend it was refreshing to be in Toulon. "Excellent value for money hotel"
We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. It is a no frills hotel, quite basic but comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and the quality of it was very good. Hotel situated in centre of city - easy access to sights - 5 minute walk to port and ferries/tourist info, 10 minutes to rail and bus station. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Helped guests to find an alternative to the 5.00.a.m. airport bus transfer from the station - be aware if using the new flight route Toulon -Liverpool - a connecting bus […] service had not yet been synchronised for the 10.55 flight - however hotel staff found a connection to Hyeres Central for 2E at a later time v.v 60E by taxi! Hotel v.clean, no lounge area and standard room quite small but our bathroom spacious with corner shower. Double glazing good but we had windows open and the night workers - bins / street washing etc are very noisy (should have used air con!). For a couple of nights would return. "Grand Hotel Dauphine weekend stay"
The hotel is in a very central location for exploring the town. Upon arrival met at the reception desk by an English speaking lady who was very helpful. We had a triple room ( 3 of us) which was ok, a bit dark though until the window shutters were pushed back. The third bed was a "put u up". The shower whilst compact was fine. Both the bathroom and […] room were clean. If you travel by bus from the Airport then get the 102 which gets you to Toulon railway station via Hyeres. It is a 40 minute journey. When you get to the railway station look for a sign post saying Place De Liberte, head for that. Go accross the square and the main road in front of you is Blve De Strasbourg. Turn left along that road and walk for around 200 metres. There is a large grand building on your righthand side which is the Opera House. Take the second street running by the side of the building and the hotel is around 50 metres on your left. A visit to Mount Fearon is well worth it. A cable car runs up the mountain and the veiw at the top is wonderful. We walked from the hotel to the cable car around 45 minutes, but the last bit is steep so just be aware. There is a number 40 bus which takes you there, You can pick it up from Place De Liberte. There are boat trips around the harbour which were not operating whilst we were there, probably because it was out of season. You can take a ferry accross the bay which is good fun. Toulon harbour front has a lot of restaurants which are good. If you are going there to stay in Toulon then be aware that there is not a great deal to see, perhaps a day and a half looking round, boat trip, cable car could easily cover it. There are beaches near by which in the summer would be nice to spend a day at.however. I would advise getting a travel ticket which at the time of writing cost 10 euros. This gives you 10 single trips on buses and ferry boats. It also covers you to and from the airport. "Grand Hôtel Dauphiné beläget i mysiga "gamla stan""
Otydligt på hotels.com bokningssida då vi trodde att vi hade bokat ett dubbelrum comport plus men vid ankomst till hotellet fick veta att det var ett standard dubbelrum. Detta var en besvikelse då en comfort plus dubbelrum bild visades till standard dubbelrum på sajten, vilket är mycket missvisande. Hotellrum helt ok men inte det vi hade förväntat oss […] när vi bokade inför en romantisk vistelse. Hursomhelst, läget på hotellet var perfekt, mitt inne i "gamla stan" med caféer och restauranger vid mysiga torg och i små gränder samt levande och myllrande marknadsgator på dagtid. Dock var det mesta stängt på kvällstid så man fick promenera ner till hamnen där de flesta restaurangerna fanns på rad efter hamnkajen. Vi åt aldrig frukost på hotellet utan föredrog att sitta på någon av caféerna i närheten för att uppleva vardagslivet i Toulon. Mycket gågator i "gamla stan" men vi fick vid ankomst på kvällen parkera gratis utanför hotellet fram tills morgonen efter då vi flyttade bilen till ett P-hus som låg alldeles intill. Tres bon accueil malgre notre arrivée tardive de CORSE, nous avons pu beneficier de l une des 3 places de parking située juste devant l hotel c etait sympa pour les baggages .La chambre etait spacieuse et tres propre . petit dejeuner tres correct Point negatif, un peu juste au niveau des echantillons de gel douche et savonnette 1 seul de chaque pour […] 2 personnes 1 seule grande serviette et 1 moyenne dans la salle de bains un lot de 2 autres serviettes etaient bien rangées dans le placard on s en ai apercu trop tard visiblement , malgre une reservation pour 2 personnes et 2 lits de 90 cote a cote ,c etait prevu pour une seule personne tres bruyant le matin la chambre a cote de la salle des petits dejeuners.
