Moorings Hotel - Port Vila

This hotel is very central to Port Vila. The staff were excellent. They even personally took me to the pharmacy when I became unwell. They knew all the details of the various tours so were able to suggest the best value tours and make all of the arrangements. The room and facilities were exactly as they appreared on the internet so there were no hidden […] surprises. All facilities were very clean. Very clean compact room, good for one night but not if your stay was longer.

The staff was ok but the entire place needs to be updated and cleaned. The towels in my bathroom were filthy and the bed sheets were worse. The little sleep I had was on top of some pool towels which were cleaner than those in my bathroom. The noise from night club out front made it impossible to sleep and I am NOT a light sleeper by any means. I challenge […] anyone to try to sleep through the screaming, sirens etc. The final deal breaker for me was the couple that told me they had to change rooms due to bed bug infestation. I was not terribly impressed with our stay at Moorings. The density and proximity of rooms, combined with almost non-existent soundproofing made for a noisy and uncomfortable stay. The room we stayed in was small and cramped and didn't even have bedside lamps. The insect screens on the windows were torn with massive holes and there was no mosquito net, […] which is a serious problem in a place with malaria mosquitoes! If you are young and looking to meet other travellers, this may be a good place to stay, there is a decent bar and there seem to be a lot of younger people staying here. If you're with a family or looking for a quiet place to sleep, find somewhere else! Also, the restaurant is expensive and not that great compared to other establishments in the immediate area. The main benefit of Moorings is it is close to the town centre, but not in the town centre itself, so the surroundings are a little more quiet than being right in the centre...not that Port Vila is the busiest place on earth! We booked a harbourside room. It was spacious and clean, but nothing special. About what you'd expect from a mir-range hotel. […] Although the wooden doors that opened onto the harbourside did let some water in during a heavy thunderstorm. So if you stay here, don't keep any stuff right next to these doors!!! We knew beforehand that the hotel contained a nightclub and would not be that quiet - and it wasn't. Pool was a decent size and ideal for kids. The food was nothing to write home about - try to eat in town if you can. In fact, I'd recommend eating in the market. It looks dirty...but the food is awesome and so is the atmosphere - plus you'll probably be the only tourists in there :) Anyway, back to Moorings...the staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, I thought the hotel was decent, though a little noisy. I don't regret staying there, but I wouldn't stay there again. Pročitajte više

very poor lighting, could not read in room, no tables or bedside lights,very noisy, untill 3am sat and sunday, all told a very sad holiday, no beach, people smoked and drank in pool. food poor .

A basic and quite well maintained hotel with everything you need, including a pool, bar and restaurant of good quality. It is suitable for everybody who is on a budget or does not want to spend too much money on accomodation, because of using the hotel just for sleeping and relaxing after sightseeing and other activities on the island. Would not satisfy […] you for all day holiday stay. About 200 m away in the neighbourhood is a Tapas Bar operation from where very loud open air music can be heard at times until late. Vi hadde et kjempehyggelig opphold paa dette hotellet og de ansatte er alltid koselige. det tar 5-10 min aa gaa ned til sentrum.

ホテルの部屋のすべての窓に網戸がついており、蚊の対策が不要です。また、エアコンの効きも良く、部屋不在時にもエアコンは切れないので、戻ってきた時にも快適な温度です（寒すぎるくらい）。 ただ、部屋の中にクローゼットがないため、荷物（小物）が多い人には、困ってしまうかもしれません。 部屋にテーブルがないので、ちょっと不自由です。 インターネットはレストランで接続できます（１時間５００円）。速度が速いのでスカイプも可能です。 ネットにて予約すると（他のホテルと比べて）安いので、まぁまぁお薦めです。 町の中心部まで徒歩１０分であり、位置的には若干遠いかもしれません。 でも、静かですよ。

It was a nice to staying in Moorings. Staff is freindly and helpful. You can see good sunset sceneries from deck. There is no writing desk of my room. That is inconvenient, if you have something to work on desk even resort hotel though.
