Very friendly staff. Went out of their way to assist me with my needs. Close to Central Railway, China Town and Capitol Theatre, Low cost, clean, good beds, very quiet. Close to very good shopping. No complaints. Have used it before and will use it again.

Here on vacation...requested queen size bed. Received this, but with 2 people very hard to get back/forth in room. Very small and is not comfortable. Temperature in room under control of front desk. If you want it changed, one has to put in a request with reception. Location is great. Lots of choices for restaurants and shopping.

Staying at the Ibis World Square was very convenient for us being conveniently close to key tourist attraction and the Central Rail station. Plus there are lots of dining options very close to the hotel. Overall an excellent choice.

Location of the hotel is awesome. Smackbang in Sydney Cbd and a great location for shopaholics. The hotel is clean and rooms had a basic amenities that you need and the staff are extremely friendly. Only downfall probably is the size of the room, quite small for a deluxe. But overall 4/5 and would recommend to tourists who are on a budget.

We were incredibly unhappy from start to end of trip, firstly there was no direction for car parking, and the office was unhelpful in which direction to go. The bathroom was ridiculous, if i wanted to shower in a pool i would of booked a hotel with a pool. The drainage was so bad the whole bathroom was flooded after 2 showers and there was lack of towels […] to mop up the wet floor. There was lack of mirrors and power points for 4 people, it made it impossible to all be getting ready. On the last night of our stay we were invaded by a huge cockroach, which clearly shows uncleanliness of the rooms. Overall we were very unhappy with the hotel, I would never book here again. Great location, there was a bit of maintence going on in the building especially the elevators - they were quite slow. Room was comfortable however the toilet was continually running all night so turned the cistern off. We did mention this to reception on check out.

The room and bathroom were far too small - the web photos are misleading. If you have two suitcases and 2 computers there is no room to move - the room should be limited to 1 person only. Suggestion - take the little tray off the bathroom shelf as it is too big so falls into the basin along with all the contents. I would not stay at Ibis again. The air-conditioning did not work on the first evening, the tv did not work. The bathroom had hairs on the floor obviously not cleaned.

The hotel is located in World Squre, a busy hub of central Sydney. The noise coming from surrounding bars and clubs was ridiculous until around 2-3am most nights, there is also a Erotic club open 24 hours per day that is next door. The house keeping service was very annoying also, I was out of the hotel most days by 9am and would come back around 2 […] or 3pm, the room still not had been cleaned, they would trun up at 5pm or on the ocasiaon it had been done in the morning (once) they came back 2 further times whilst i was trying to have a nap, they also took the do not disturb sign from the room so i could not advertise if i was in or not. This Hotel has one thing going for it - Its location. Its handy for all the major sights, the Opera House, Harbour bridge, Darling Harbour, The Manly Ferry terminal, buses to Bondi beach etc are easy to catch. The hotel itself isn't great, was very over priced although did go over the New Year period so every hotel was going to rip you off like they […] do everywhere. Check in was very slow, turned up at about 2:30pm and had to wait 45 mins for room to be available. The excuse was that they were busier than they had anticipated. I had just paid 3 time the usual price for the night! I would have thought they could have worked out they would be busy! Room was minute, not much more than a foot between bed a nd wall in most places. Iron leaked, air conditioning leaked onto bed. TV quality was so bad as to be unwatchable. The walls were incredibly thin, the convesations from next door could be heard easily. The staff however were great and very helpfull, but you can only work with what you are given. Whilst most people wouldn't expect much of an Ibis hotel, I was disappointed that simple things seemed too hard... The swipe machine in the lift for your room key was so temperamental that most people gave up and waited for the other lift, the towels were very thin, the doors and walls could have been made for cardboard given their sound insulating […] qualities etc etc. If you can find a cheap rate then this is a basic budget hotel that is close to interesting places to eat and a short walk into the heart of the city. For the purpose of our exercise i.e to be close to the Entertainment Centre the Hotel was perfect for one night. We were upgraded to a room with an extra bed for a child and the staff went out of their way to be helpful.

The whole bathroom needed a thorough scrub with Ajax. In the meantime, some spray-on bleach would have improved things greatly. The filter in the bathroom was clogged with dust. The carpet in the bedroom was kitchen quqlity and needed to be steam cleaned.

On arrival our airconditioning was not working & the bed reading lights were not working. We were told they could not do anything about it until the next day but did give us a free breakfast . The next morning we were woken at 6.30am by workman banging on the roof above us(we were on top floor) & beside us. Our room was changed for the rest of our stay […] but in the second room the TV was faulty & we had to keep fiddling with wiring to make it work. Everything you would expect from an Ibis hotel, clean comfy room, however there are other cheaper options that are just as good! They also tried to bill me $20 for a movie I hadnt watched but agreed to not charge me in the end.

This is a well located hotel that is convenient if you need to be close to the CBD. The internal condition is starting to age. HVAC not 100% and guests have no control over TV channels - all view the same multi-lingual programme. Excellent service in the breakfast room.

ITS A GOOD PLACE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SYD CITY. ROOM AWS OK, NOT REAL LARGE , BUT ENOUGH FOR A SLEEP AND A WASH, THE B/FAST WAS GREAT.AND WE WERE GOING ONTO A CRUISE BOAT SO WE GOT A LATE CHECKOUT AND THE RECEPTIONIST WAS GOOD.

All the staff we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. Specially Immanuel,, at the Breakfast room, who makes a point of remembering peoples'names and room numbers. He is always helpful with directions and very friendly. The carpark across the road is handy but I had a coronary going down the ramp !!! ( Only Joking ).

My friend and I stayed there for 2 nights. We thought given the location and the amount that we paid it was pretty good value. Bed and toilets were quite clean although some of the front staff were somewhat clumsy in breaking the guest's stuff.

I stayed here for 1 Saturday night, thinking it would be a better option to get a good night sleep as opposed to having to go all the way home after a late concert.At check-in we were asked if we'd like to stay in The Apartment which had a full kitchenette that was usually reserved for special guests, at no extra cost as they were overbooked.We were […] escorted as it was out a fire exit and on a balcony.The staff member pointed over the balcony to an open air bar below but said we shouldn't worry as our room was soundproof - IT WASN'T.We got back to the hotel by midnight and the music from the bar was absolutely blaring.After an hour it was getting to be too much so I went down to reception to say we were very disturbed in our room and couldn't sleep.The man on night duty was extremely unapologetic, did not make eye contact with me and at one stage even said "What do you want me to do about it?" By 3:30am the music stopped.On check-out I explained again to the woman on reception (she was much more apologetic and friendly) our uncomfortable night stay.She offered a complementary bottle of wine or breakfast, but we declined as we don't drink and we had a train to catch. I feel we were chosen to stay in that room as we are young and perhaps they thought we wouldn't mind. The most unsatisfactory part was that we were specifically told the room was soundproof. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation, it is dated and the hotel room smelled of cigarettes despite of being a non-smoking room for a long time. The smell permiated everything in the room. We arrived at the hotel to find that the room agreement that we had accepted was not seen to (1 queen bed for 2 adults and 1 child??!!) although I had actually emailed 2 months before arrive to ensure we had enough beds etc. This was resolved quite quickly. I moved the single bed to one side as I dropped something on the floor and found a pill under the bed as well as a plethora of hairclips and dust (we had our 5 year old son with us). I bought this to the attention of the desk staff in the morning and it wasn't even acknowledged. The air conditioning was also hopeless. The parking outlandishly expensive $35 overnight.
