Almost everything is as expected: small room, no fancy decoration, big junk yard across from the street. However, for this price and its location, you can't really complain much. One thing I'd like to point out though is that our room had a very bad smell (kinda like bad body odor or smelly feet...), and it never went away. I'm not sure if it's because […] of the junk yard, or the room was not nicely cleaned. The carpet did look quite dirty. We stayed on the top floor, which has a nice view of Manhattan, we can see ESB and Chrysler from our window. The traffic around this side of the hotel was quite busy and might be too much for light sleepers. We were usually very tired when we got back to the hotel, so the noise didn't bother us too much. About the breakfast, there are only a few tables, and the food is the same everyday but tastes fine. There's always enough food when we got there around 8 am. The service is good. The people at the front desk are helpful and nice. The hotel is very close (5 min walk) to the Queensboro Plaza subway station where there are several lines to get into Manhattan (which is right across the river). The area didn't look very safe, but we had no problem walking back from the subway to our hotel at night. Overall, this hotel is worth staying at if you want to save some money and are not too picky. Nice hotel, very friendly hotel staff, good location, just 2 minutes from subway station (Queensborough plaza). The 7 train brings you to Grand Central in less than 10 minutes. Good and cheap(er) alternative to an expensive hotel on Manhattan.

Location was perfect to take train into Manhattan which is a 10 minute ride. Surroundings of hotel was not the best due to a dump yard across the street, easily overlooked due to free parking and easy access to New York City. It was clean, otherwise nothing special, but probably almost twice as cheap as similar hotel would be on Manhattan. Being 2-3 minutes walk from subway, it is really close for getting around.

The hotel staff were nice, once we got there, but were kind of short on the phone when I called for the address. The room was clean and warm, the shower was clean and hot, and I can't say anything bad about it except the bed was so firm, to the point of uncomfortableness. But since we have a super-comfy pillow-top at home, it might have been just us. […] The Italian place that they sent us for dinner was awesome, but the pizza that they suggested was HORRIBLE. Older property surrounded by recycling pit and really nothing nice. Location pitiful. I can see why your not putting your best foot forward. The neighborhood is holding you down. Kinda sad. Bathroom was very clean and worked well. Bed was like cement. Draperies were dirty Ac worked great.

We were there for 2 weeks, it was the same exact food every morning. Rooms were very small. No hot water 4 out of 14 days.

The setting is not attractive, but it is a less expensive cab ride from LaGuardia and cheaper room than staying in Manhattan. Very close to subway stop. Staff friendly and the hotel itself, while compact, was pleasant. My room looked onto a scrap metal lot.

Rooms are a little small, but still comfortable. A light sleeper might be aware of city street noise; but, as former city dwellers, we were not bothered by the noise. Hotel staff was very accommodating, and eager to please.

Room was small and not well insulated from outside noise. TV reception was awful. WiFi was very slow. Neighborhood is industrial, noisy and dirty. for the price it can not be beat. parking is limited and is on the street unless you go to a parking garage. surrounding area is a little scary but could be much worse. hotel is clean, room is good, breakfast is as good as it can be for free.

The room we got looks clean and presentable but it smells horrible. It stinks! It is a non-smoking room but smells mold and smoke. The bathroom is very nice - renovated well but again it has bad smell. We have to spray perfumes and air fresheners but after few minutes bad smells came back. Hotel was great and the room good value. Convenient supervised parking was available a block away for an extra charge. Easy access to the subway for a short ride downtown. Not sure about the neighborhood.

Friendly staff at check-in, clean room and not that small, considering it's NYC, but I was a bit concerned about the neighborhood. We parked on the street (there's no hotel parking) and had no problems, but it sure didn't look promising. I probably won't stay there again, but in a pinch, it would do.

Location suited us because it had very easy access to Manhattan via subway but there was Los parking nearby.

Surprisingly clean and adequate for the cheapest hotel in our neighborhood. However, our comforter had two clear cigarette burns in a non smoking room and there were signs saying the fines for smoking in the room. Thought they could have replaced it. Also The shower didn't work, only the bath.

While the hotel was clean and well kept, my room had a strange odour as you walked into it. This was not noticeable for very long. The hotel staff are very accomodating and professional! Very convenient to have the train station a block away. Hop on the train and ride for 3 stops to Broadway and that street is bustling with locals and tourists in search of some international cuisine. You can pretty much find it all here!
