Incredibly comfortable bed, across the street from beach, quiet, excellent service, and loved the happy hour. Would definitely stay again. Oh, plenty of outlets in the room. I hate having to unplug lights in order to charge my phone.

Hotel renew is hands down the one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It was so good that when we went to another island and stayed at a Sheraton Resort, it was disappointing. They shipped it overnight to our new location with time to spare before we had to return to the mainland. Daniel, Grace, and Francis were all incredible staff members. The location is great if you're looking for a quiet location on the beach. The cost of an ocean front room is the same as a city view room in another bigger hotel. It's very quiet here. There are only 4 floors so it's a very cozy place. The rooms are fabulously decorated. They really put a lot of thought into the decor and the lights. The hallways were a bit dark for my taste, but when you come back for a nap or late at night, it's nice not to get blinded. This is not a place for kids. This is not a place for people who like to spend time at a pool. There is no restaurant on premise. But when you're in the middle of Waikiki, who needs those things? For the lower price of this hotel, it was excellent in comparison to other top class hotels, and it included complementary continental breakfast, beach equipment etc. Reception staff and doorman were always very helpful. Maybe a reflective glass film could be put on the Renew hotel outside of the windows at that level so that we could have our blinds up during the day. Lemon St. is very noisy early morning (5.30AM) everyday with garbage trucks dropping and picking up skips and leaving their diesel engines running for hours while the trucks are unattended. All considered, it was a good place to stay as it was away from the busy Waikiki Strip and a place to sleep with the rest of your time out and about on the town. Great Location and good choice if you are not looking for those big hotels. I like it. The beds, pillows and comforters are so cozy. Room size is good too. Complementary continental breakfast is really convenient. Next to the other 2 big hotels which is always the meeting point for tours.

Very good location just steps from the beach but not in the thick of the swarm that has over- run much of Waikiki. The rooms tend to be dark and smallish with too much money spent on high end lighting, but none left for basics like a coffee maker. No laundry facility either. However, the excellent staff and service make up for the shortcomings.

Great location near the Zoo and a half block from the beach. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. They service a basic breakfast of tea, coffee and pineapple juice and pastries which is perfect before you start your day. Would definitely return to Hotel Renew!

The customer service is great, being able to check out towels and mats for the beach is great, the greeting with fresh juice and scented towels is great, and the list goes on. The hotel is about a one minute walk from the beach. This area of the beach has a break wall, so it is like a swimming pool in the ocean. Between the beach and the break wall, […] the depth doesn't exceed around 5 feet. A minute's walk in the opposite direction from the beach gets you to Kuhio St. and a public bus stop. We bought a 4 day bus pass and were able to take the bus to Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, the Polynesian Cultural Center, up and down Waikiki, etc. very conveniently. The International Marketplace is less than a 10 minute walk. Having never stayed at a boutique hotel before, and being someone that appreciates night life and lots of activity, the hotel seemed like an oasis each time we returned from our outings. It was quiet and relaxing. There was never a wait to check out towels for the beach or ask for suggestions at the front desk. A container of ice water with lemon slices was always available in the lobby. An internet connection was important to me, and the wi-fi signal was strong and reliable. When it came time to check out, the front desk printed our airline boarding passes. It was simple, quick, convenient...the kind of service you don't get at larger hotels.
