What a wonderful location and layout of an all inclusive resort. We had several pools and beaches to choose from to lounge and swim. Attended the shows at night and enjoyed them. After the shows when to the discoteca and had drinks and used their pool tables. Food was very tasty and had several options to choose from. Will definitely be back again.

Not quite what I had in mind. Clean and safe, but not especially polished -- a little below par, especially in terms of food (i.e. not like a cruise). However, the pools were fantastic. It's not all inclusive but rather partial inclusive. Everyone is very nice and they are constantly cleaning the place. The food was not the best minus breakfast - that was delicious. The drinks were small. Things close early. Go to the Costa Azul day trip. You'll want to go there everyday. It's worth the $1 ride.

room was fairly clean, service was mediocre. drinks served on these cheap, small plastic cups which was a big turn off! many guests carry these larger coffee mugs with their drinks inside which was a nauseating sight! The resort's security was the best part of our experience. For the price will choose to vacation elsewhere in El Salvador!

The ocean site is awesome. the pools are great, but the food is bad, and the room was not clean. They also nickle and dime their guests with charges for the lock for the safe, and the WIFI is not available in the guest rooms. Only in the lobby and the eating places. They charge extra for the use of the business center.NOT all inclusive, as stated.

Everything is nice, good price for all we have, just the food it's not to good, but it's ok. plus I think they have to serve all the salvadorian food, not all the time but at least once a week because we are in El Salvador that way all the visitors may try the salvadorian food.

Dear reviewers, the only review I could give is that if you want to find a place to escape for even a a day, go to El Salvador's Decameron resort. It is as it states, All Inclusive (so much food!). Honestly, I think there is no other hotel in El Salvador which might include a very comfortable, clean room, excellent service provided by the most helpful […] Salvadorean people, great pools (try the ocean pool :), excellent and beutiful location, and again great food and drinks. One minor thing is that the entertainment is not that great. I believe it's due that sometimes the same group performs various themes, and so sometimes the show does not seem original or natural. However, they do offer great excursions outside the hotel! P.S. If you are looking for a quiet time (and probably a cheaper rate) go between May through July. Great family resort! :) August 2012. As an all-inclusive resort for locals, the Decameron is quite good, and at a fair price. But with just a little more effort and attention to detail, it could be a whole lot better and attract a wider clientele. The room was very clean, the beds comfortable and the linens good quality. Service in the buffet restaurant and Pastafari (a la carte restaurant) […] was spotty. There was no opportunity to purchase upgraded (top-shelf) liquor. The pools were clean and well-kept. The resort personnel have not been well-trained in customer service and as a result are not the friendliest, which is odd considering Salvadorans on the whole are among the most friendly and warm people I've ever encountered. The bartenders however were very friendly and never a long line. The resort lacks modern hotel amenities - no electronic room keys, handwritten receipts, etc. Overall, a 5.5 out of 10, but with just some minor adjustments and customer-oriented enhancements to their business model, Decameron Salinitas could be a real treat. The hotel scene was very nice and can't complain about the rooms, but be prepared for NOT so great service from the restaurants. The workers who are locals def need a class or two on manners. The rooms were basic, but the grounds, pools and beach are wonderful. We are not all-inclusive resort people, we prefer more adventure travel, but we stayed for 4 nights after travelling through El Salvador so it was nice and relaxing.

had an issue first night check in (mostly my fault) front desk clerk was exceptional in his attempt to rectify. first night the dinner was rather plain, second night the theme was mexican and was superb. rooms were very spacious and well kept, the resort all in all is very pleasant and we will be returning.

This is an excellent value: 2 persons, 3 meals a day, open drinks, and an air conditioned, clean room with a Pacific Ocean view, in the Tropics! The Maya sculpture reproductions and well tended gardens made the place very inviting, and the buildings are well kept and pools inviting.We do recommend staying farther from block 1/Lobby 1 and the low numbered […] rooms of block 2, as the disco and bar and pool music are quite loud and close to lobby 1 . Blocks 3 and 4 look good for that reason, block 5 is quiet but farther from the ocean. Make your room choice wishes known when you make reservations, as check in is en masse in the convention center in a huge room, your name will be called and to a table number in Spanish to check in for your keys; you will probably need to wait for another room to open up in a day or so to make changes.Think of it as run like a cruise ship on the beach, and you will navigate the system! All rooms have an oceanside view however. Not all rooms have a refrigerator, even though the Hotels.com summary says so. The pools are clean, the drinks plentiful (but not strong), lots of activities for kids and adults, there is a decent gym for free, free wireless internet, nice spa services; the best of the reservation only restaurants we tried was the Maya Steakhouse, the Bambu was a very poor imitation of Thai food, and Fusion was okay if you can eat seafood. Be sure to make dinner reservations in the morning as space is limited and there is competition for reservations, there are 2 seatings a night en masse (like a cruise ship). As an alternative, the main dining halls are on a drop in basis and have decent food selections for breakfast and dinner, and there is a snack/lunch available as well. The security was impressive, and there is an on site tour planning office, with great tours to archaeology sites like Ceren and Copan. Have been there twice. Resort is beautiful (though resorts tend to all kind of look the same) food is a bit better than average, and the tours are really amazing, if they are running the week you are there (if there aren't enough people interested, they won't run them). Armed police officers accompany all tours, for your safety.

We went to the hotel for a long week end. Was my third time there. Room was with pool and ocean view. Hotel is directly on the ocean, no noise from cars or planes. The sceniary was marvelous and the beach was beautiful. The service was great and the people were extremely nice. The entertainment was great. The Royal DeCameron is not convenient for the tourist arriving at the Airport. This is the only all inclusive resort that I have been to that makes you wait OUTSIDE the resort until 3 p.m. The locals and neighboring countries know and accept this. At 3 p.m. everybody drives into the resort area and is herded to a conference room for a mass check-in. […] You are handed a number and told to wait for your number. By the time you get to your room daylight is almost over. Did not like that local people can purchase one day pass to the resort. Saw two local girls pack 6 hamburgers and fries into plastic containers before exiting resort. This degrades the Royal Decameron. Staff is not the friendliest nor the most helpful. Serving times posted are not correct. It the sign states 9:30 a.m., should not be 9:15a.m. as it seems to be. Evening show in Discoteca was overcrowded and no A/C, not too mention a fire hazard. Wanted to go sightseeing outside the Resort and had to obtain a permit to leave and return. Spent a lot of money for our family vacation. Not worth it for this USA tourist who speaks Spanish. Boris and Silvia were our favorite ones. We don’t have any complain about personal there, maybe because we treated them nicely. Pastafary and the Steak House were our favorite restaurants.8-Something I want to remark is that in any restaurant or food court you go in, there is in the entrance a person giving an antibacterial gel. It is a nice way to enforce to clean our hands. Checked in was a problem since initially we are not allowed by armed guard to enter the resort. He told us a front that it is not timeshare but when it was presented to us , " It works like a timeshare" you have RCI membership,what else can you label this be. I owned one that"s why I know.The resort is huge, bigger than any I'd been such as Cancun, Hawaii, Canary Island, Florida etc. The beach is not good but there are humongous pool all over the place ,has 5 residential towers, parking and so much more. The hotel is beautiful, nice pools and great animation staff. The food was alright , note: only 2 restaurants were available for reservation during our week long stay. I kept on arriving at the lobby to make reservations by 7am as they instructed me to do and they kept on saying that the reservations were full. On the third day, they finally fessed […] up and told me that only 2 of the 5 restaurants were opened.The tour to the offsite beach mentioned in their site was also not in service during our stay. The staff at this facility is not very welcoming - specially the managers. On many occassions while I was in the pool, I asked for the time. They would say 'I don't know' or shrug and continue on their way. Use cation when you use the room phone - CHARGES ARE A KILLER. The best things about the hotel: great views from the rooms, nice size rooms, EXCELLENT massages (I got 2), great animation staff, free kayak, clean pools, good selection of bar drinks, clean public bathrooms. The bad: unwelcoming staff, the shower in our room was plugged and only after 5 calls to reception they fixed it on our third day, the food is ok and no pool side snacks - you have to dry up, get changed and go to the buffet for snacks (hassle when you have kids), not authentically Salvadorian. I would have liked to see at least 1 Salvadorian dance routine - el carbonero Overall, my family had a good time, but unless the staff improve on the quality of service, this facility will loose clientele.
