Four double room booked as we were guests for my daughter's wedding. One bathroom had no bath towels. When booked, website said swimming pool /fitness studio available and my fours sons were much disappointed to find these had closed some months before. Mis-selling, it seems to me. Bells on Sunday morning from adjacent church were a delight.

I would like to have been informed that there was no pool facilities anymore, that there was a lot of construction going on and that the 'bar' and 'restaurant' were makeshift while construction was commencing. The one thing this hotel is not is 4*. It is 2 star at most. It is a franchise which may explain why it is not up to Ramada standards. Fine if you were paying £40/night, but if you end up paying normal 4* rates you will feel ripped off.

One thing that stood out is helpfulness of staff and great service. Nothing was a problem for them - they would go out of their ways to make sure that the stay was good. The only con is the cafe/restaurant prices. £12 for breakfast and fairly expensive evening meals. The quality of the food is very good, though.

no problems with the hotel, good comfort, quiet and not far from where i needed to be. good value at short notice as well. TV was dated and did not sem to have freeview and none of the features of the tv worked at all. I stay a lot at this hotel as it is convenient for the office and the parking is good . Staff are friendly and there is a reasonable restaurant menu. They are currently renovating the ground floor having refurbished the bedrooms over the last 12 months. This means the usual bar and restaurant are closed a d they are using the conference rooms as a bar […] and restaurant. The gym and pool are closed but the gym equipment is a ail able jn another conference room. It is working ok this way although restaurant service a little slower than usual . Was disappointing not to have been warned before I booked that the pool was closed as that was one reason I usually book there. I will never stayt at this hotel again. Within one hour of arriving, I had moved rooms as the standard of cleanlienss was poor and returned my room service meal as the chef could not be bothered to prepare the meal as described on the menu, a chicken sandwich on foccacia bread wih bacon & blue cheese; he had used a cheap, white burger-roll instead of […] foccacia and the slice of blue cheese was the rind end. It was aslo dripping with fat. Furthermore, the double room I reserved was two single beds pushed together with the inevitable ridge down the middle, the air conditioning did not work blowing out warm air only and the TV only had a choice of five terrestrial channels, plus the picture was extermely grainy. Our only real complaint is the post code for the hotel is not the right one to put in the satnav to guide you into the car park. You need to state on your website "for car park use BS1 6PB (the Bells postcode) then there is a better chance people will find it easier. Once we were parked everything else was fine.

I'm now approaching my dotage and have to concede that life in Britain has changed, not least the fact that lager is becoming the preferred drink to bitter, particularly real ale worshipped by members of Camera - the Campaign for Real Ale. I booked this as it seemed to be near the centre, good value and has a spa. It also has free on-road parking nearby on Somerset Street, which saves paying for the hotel car park. The hotel areas and rooms were clean and modern, though the spa and gym were a little small and dated. Still useable though, and a nice feature.

Bit tricky to find due to the one way systems in the area. Very efficient staff on the welcome desk. Room was clean with facilities as expected. Bathroom needed a little attention (new grouting/mastic would sort it).Very convenient location - just a short walk from The Centre (and breakfast). Lovely(!) to be woken by the bells of St Mary Redcliff!!

This hotel is extremely expensive for the service it provides. The rooms are small, with outdated decoration, the showers are narrow and claustrophobic and pretty much every 1st floor room facing the cathedral nearby will have a view over huge exhaustion housings. The staff and service was excellent. The room comfortable, the bathroom could have done with some maintenance, but that is poor housekeeping. Definitely not a 4 star hotel! Room was advertised with air conditioning, this was not the case at all. Me and my partner had a very sleepless night as it felt so warm amd stuffy in the room, despite the window being open. When enquiring with reception they advised some of the rooms don't have air conditioning, so why advertise it? Room was quite dusty, […] unclean, the televsion was dreadful. This place is really not worth the money or a visit! Will definitely stick to our usual hotel in Bristol when we visit next time. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel and reasonably priced rooms check out Hilton Garden Inn in Bristol City Centre formerly known as the Mint Hotel & City Inn Bristol. Watch out for the stag parties!!! 2 on the Friday and another 2 on the Saturday!!! Same menue in the restuarant as the bar which was a bit disappointing. Bar was very noisy due to the stag do's. Hotel ok but I certainly wouldn't rate it as a 4 star.

Shower water pressure is dreadful. Toilet would not flush properly. Hotel location is good with decent parking. Starting to look a little tired. Room was warm, dry and quiet.

I booked this hotel Specifically because I wanted a Double Bed. On arriving to my room I found I had been allocated a twin. I phoned reception to get moved but was told all the doubles were full and i was moved because i was a single occupant. Basically its tuff luck! So sleep was bad, When i tried to pull the beds together I saw the state of the floor […] underneath! Not good!! Also there was a door joining next door which was so thin we could hear each other sleeping.... Got up to have a shower only to find that the shower was just a dribble, This wasnt just mine either.
