We chose the Davis Boutique Hotel based on location and price. Sukhunvit was the area recommended to us by a number of people as the place to stay. We were somewhat disappointed with the hotel. The non smoking room smelt of smoke and they changed us to another but this was in need of a paint job. I also had difficulty explaining the smelly room to reception. […] The Starbucks on the ground floor is a nice feature. A point worth noting is that they charge extra for Internet access at 200bt PER DEVICE!! We had two iPhones so 400bt a day. When we raised an eyebrow we were told it was because we booked it on line. The Davis is in a desirable neighborhood and the rooms were clean and comfortable, especially considering the price (however, the lobby and hallways do have a noticeable smell of mildew). The Davis is disappointing when it comes to service. We paid for internet, and it did not work--not that big of a deal, but when we went to check out, they still wanted […] us to pay for it. We explained that we called a technician to our room to verify or help us with the internet. (The person was unable to help fix the problem). The receptionist then told us that based on the time we called that it could not have been an IT person. She also tried to tell me that I didn't know how to use my iPhone to correctly connect to the internet. When I tried to explain that I use it all over the world for internet and am pretty certain I know how to make a connection to wireless, she still continued to tell me that I don't. So, overall we had a decent stay, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. All in all, It's not that big of a deal to pay $25 for internet that doesn't work, but it's more the underlying principal of how they approached the issue that made me think next time I'll probably choose another place. My room was the studio (the cheapest type) but it was large and immaculate. I travel on business regularly and would not be displeased to find myself here rather than a Conrad, Hyatt etc. Location is walking distance from many bars etc, but it is a 15 min walk to the train station (I didn't find this a problem). This was my second time at this hotel and I really find it difficult to find fault with it. I stay in a Davis suite and the rooms are large, well priced and very clean. I requested a non smoking room. Unpleasant to find my allocated room was smoking. Took 2 hours to get me a new room. When i asked for a feedback form the staff at the corner wing said they don't have one. So i walked over to the main wing and got one!! Not very 5 star when staff lie to you right in front of your face!!

Great hotel for the dollar. Nice choice of various styles of rooms. Great, although a bit small, pool and pool area with spectacular views! Staff is always helpful. Business oriented but accepts everyone with a smile! Location is off the beaten path a couple of blocks but that is a bonus also! Next to a nice designer type shopping mall.

Housekeeping often forgot to replace the complimentary bottled water, tea,sugar etc We booked for King size bed but when we checked in we got a twin bed, we reported it and reception staff said the hotel have no king size bed available. We're on our honeymoon and have to sleep on separate bed?. Internet unstable connection.

The Davis is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at and for the price it's one of the best deals in Bangkok, however it is far away from the tourist sights. It easily takes an hour to get into the Old City from the hotel whether you take the taxi (at least 100 baht) or walk the 15 min to the subway, ride it to the river, and then board the tourist […] boats to reach the sights (at least 50 baht). If you've come for shopping there is a great mall near the sky train (15 min walk) with a movie theater and if you've come for other things Soi Cowboy is only one stop away on the sky train or a 30 min walk. No Thai restaurants near the hotel but many American sandwich places as well as Japanese or Lebanese food. There are a few food stalls if you walk towards the McDonalds. Amazing hotel, must definitely be among the best in Bangkok. Amazing spa as well!! The staff is so friendly and go out of their ways to assist you. Mind you, the hotel has it's own direct entrance to the area's starbucks, and you can get your coffee from starbucks delivered to your own room!! Loved it!

I've stayed here a few times. For the price, it's a really good place to stay. The rooms are HUGE and comfortable. I rate this as a solid 4 star hotel with plenty of ameneties. The main drawback is that the hotel is pretty far from Sukhumvit. It's really too far to walk in the heat of BKK. But there's a simple answer. There are motorbike taxi's at […] the intersection of Sukhumvit and in fron tof the hotel. For 20 baht ($.70), they turn a 10-15 minute walk into a 1 minute motorbike ride and drop you at the BTS station. I guess motorbike taxi's aren't for everyone but they are a different experience. For me, it's worth it to have to take the motorbikes. While the hotel is not that close to Sukhumvit, that is actually an advantage. It was very comfortable and I would happily have stayed longer but we did find that being in the business district it was a very stiff place to stay. The hotel has a free shuttle to the Phrom Phong BTS station but the Queen Sirikit subway station is slightly closer- about a 10 minute walk and located near an interesting traditional wet market.
