The Staff were amazing so friendly and helpful and always smiling. The hotel is in two areas the older side where reception is which is lovely but the rooms are older and slightly more dated and it is quite hilly so if you have a walking disablilty i would suggest the new side as its alot flater plus obviously more modern . We stayed in a Diamond Suite […] on the new side of the hotel and it was Luxurious, Bright and Immaculate. The hotel itself has two great buffet style restaurants, An Italian with the most amazing food. The Turkish Restaurant was very atmospheric with belly dancers and shisha pipes a great experience.The Asian Restaurant was out of this world, the atmosphere food and service were fab but you had to pay We ate at the 'Waves' pool bar every lunch time as we spent most of our days chilling by the pool and a great variety for everyone inc. cocktails. The Q Bar was fantastic and the chill our bar with its multiple evening shows, entertainment, music and dancing was outstanding. The sports bar was busy and very lively but we didnt spend alot of time their as their were alot of families and noise but looked great fun. We also drank down at the beach bar one evening and watched the sun set which was beautiful. Their were also other restaurants, snack bars and bars around which we didnt get to try. We arrived at Sharm airport in Feb 2013 and made our own way via a taxi to the Hilton in Sharks Bay which was approx 7KM away. Expect to pay around 100 Egyptian pounds not the 250 Egyptian pounds we ended paying. Going back cost 60 Egyptian pounds! The Hilton was lovely, check-in was quick and easy and a buggy took us and our cases to our room. We […] upgraded to a sea view. The room was clean and comfortable with all mod cons you expect from a 4 star hotel. The private beach was about 20 yards away and very impressive with complimentary sun beds, towels etc. the facilities were very good, we used the gym, spa and other amenities all complimentary in the price. The food was generally to a reasonably high standard with the choice of local Egyptian dishes, pasta, cooked meats and curry all very tasty. The staff were all friendly and very helpful and polite. The hotel had many more Russians than Brits but we had no issues with any of these. The slight downside was the noise coming from the building site next door. Whilst this wasn't incessant it could be heard but not to the point where it spoils your holiday. Entertainment was ok but could be improved we spent most nights in the chill out bar or crossed the road to go to to the Olympic bar which was more lively. The overall experience was good. Went there end of January to beginning of February as a group of two couples. Weather was decent with a few chilly nights but nothing to complain about. The food was decent but breakfast was the same thing throughout and no variety. We ended up skipping this altogether. The grilled chicken and cooked vegetable dishes were superb. The hotel staff are all friendly and willing to help where ever they can and the general cleanliness of the rooms is good and no complaints there as the rooms are cleaned everyday and linen changed daily. It is a good hotel but remember five star in africa is equivalent of 3.5 to 4 stars in first world countries but some hotels in first world countries would struggle to meet the standards of this hotel. None of us had the running tummy as we realised that most people probably get this from excessive drinking of the cheap beer they have on the all inclusive package. This is a very large complex with hundreds of employees 24/7. The place is well maintained and looks good. The top bar in the pool and the buffet restaurant had the best food and services compare to middle and lower ones, being on a hill. :) The actual Egyptian food rest. was the worst with food and services. When it came to beverages, of course, the wine and beer seem to be of poor quality and taste than the bottle stuff, which one could buy from SOHO, the village just down the road. Probably just a way to keep the cost down for the hotel and they use their own EMA (Egyptian Made Alcohol) I like a good tasting beer, not the alcohol content, this was not provided. (We had an all inclusive for the resort) Activities are available with no harassment and that is nice even off the premises but the staff will let you know in a polite way that they depend on tips for some extra income but, it is still a reminder... as to why they are so nice to you. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were excellent. Always going above and beyond. Whilst we were away it was one of our parties birthday, having mentioned it to our waiter at breakfast he went out of his way to arrange something special for the birthday boy both in the main restaurant and the one we ate in that night. Having stayed in Sharm El Sheikh at another hotel before, I didn't actually find the Hilton to be less as all. The staff was 50/50; either they were standoffish and ignored you, or they were very friendly. Food was plentiful and the hours reasonable as compare to the Hilton in Guam which had such weird hours one had to choose between using the resort […] or eating. We booked a triple deluxe room but when we arrived we found that we had been upgraded to a suite. Which was fab. The room was on the new side so nice and peaceful as not many guests on that side. On the website it says that in winter one of the pools is heated. I would assume that december is winter but of the 10 pools there, not a single one was heated. […] In fact all pools were so cold that we couldn't use them and so opted to go into the sea instead. The beach is absolutely tiny with very little space and to top it off there was construction going on next door building so couldn't even relax on the beach. The food was of rather low standard. Considering we were all inclusive there were times of the day that we couldn't get any food at all! Not many drinks either as part of all inclusive deals. Could not even get fresh orange juice even if we opted to pay for it. At breakfast, the staff seemed more interested in cleaning rather than bringing tea/coffee over. The room rarely got cleaned unless we specifically phoned and asked someone to come and do it. One day we even had to phone 3 times. Even then they did not do a very good job. Rather disappointing as it was a suite! The website states there is wifi in the hotel and rooms. We were even told this at check in, however when we went to the room we found in fact there wasn't. when we phoned to reception and asked why it wasn't working, we were told only works in reception. Lovely facilities, pools and room (new side) were great but sunbeds on new side in need of repair or replacement. Beach area is small for hotel this size so lack of sunbeds there unless you were up very early or hotel is very quiet. Service generally good with a couple of rather surly waiters but special mention to the bus and concierge staff who were […] so very helpful. I fell by the pool in the middle of our holiday and severely hurt my knee. The bus supervisor almost gave us personal service for a day or two until my mobility improved. Watch the pool side as when staff wash these areas they do become slippery. Now the bad bit..the food. Drinks were generally of OK quality but the food was poor especially in the buffets. The food in the pool bars and Italian restaurant was pretty good but the Sunset Bar food was abysmal on a few days we tried there. We did meet with a Food and Beverage Manager and express our concerns about the food and service at the Sunset Bar and the general poor quality of the buffet food but it improved little before we left. The Italian was pretty good (certainly compared with the buffets) but not great. The service was first class, all the staff were excellent, helpful and couldn't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Arriving at the hotel later in the evening we were disappointed to find there was no possibility to get a meal apart from some stale sandwiches in the bar. We expected more from the Hilton. There were several disappointments with the hotel. First, some of the staff were rather rude and curt with customers. Second, the women's toilet by the beach bar was so filthy that my wife had to return to the room to use the toilet. She wondered if the staff, all men, ever actually cleaned the women's toilet. Third, we were in a group of 5 and had […] an evening flight so asked if we could keep 1 room until 6 pm. We were told this would cost US 15 per hour, for a cost of $90 for a late check out, and this after our group had stayed a total of nine room-nights. I verified that the hotel was not full, so there should have been no problem for a late check-out. Just trying to rip us off. Fourth, the buffet food was OK, but not above average and certainly not what I expect of a Hilton. Fifth, the hotel was usually out of beach towels, simply had none, and told us to wait. I was very happy with my stay. I stayed for 9 days and didn't regret it at all, in fact I plan to stay there again next summer. The hotel was clean and the beach was amazing for snorkeling. There were plenty of options for laying and playing in the sun either one of the many pools, which are cleaned every night, or the beach. Had a great time during the first week of June in Hilton Sharks Bay. The 2 rooms we had were excellent, close to the pools and the pool bar areas (we were in the new side of the hotel). In the old side of the hotel the staff were very lazy, grunted instead of talked and always made you feel second rate unless you were in their little click. We stayed in the new part of the hotel which was quiet and had lovely large pools. Pool bars not as described as open limited times, which was dissapointing for our 12 yr as we had said ice cream was on tap! Most of the resturants were over the other side which was a short walk which was not an issue but would have been nice to have a couple more resturants […] on our side. We had a buffet resturant and House of Asia which was very nice but pricey and you had to pay for drinks. Childrens facilities were for younger children upto 5 yrs. All staff were very pleasant and couldn't do more than enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Transport to hotel was a HUGE problem. Despite 2 emails to concierge to arrange bus, no one showed. (Turned out the service no longer exists but is still listed on the hotel website). Spent an hour arguing with taxis who would not charge the official posted rate. Complained to the Army who suggested I walk to the highway outside the airport and flag down a taxi -- that worked. Good location to get to surrounding areas, soho square and Narma Bay. Hotel bars were quite poor as alcohol tasted cheap, bar staff moody, all lacked atmosphere. Most impressed by the friendly atmosphere at this hotel. The waiters went out their way to please even though the buffet was bland and tiresome. We stayed in the old part and ventured to the Asian Restaurant in the new part which looked stunning but not as friendly .

We needed sunny warm holiday towards end of the European winter. We did get this in pleasant surroundings. We took the all inclusive option for 8 day holiday. This was a good decision. Food and drinks were plentiful and good. Package included also free snorkling gear, internal transport and similar. All areas were clean, hotel staff was always helpful […] and polite. Extra services like diving, trip to desert etc are available. Sales people were not too pushy and rates were reasonable. There is also reasonably priced taxi service for trips to town. Really nice experience was the last day. Our flight was late evening. Hotel provided place for luggage and free access to saunas and showers so we did not loose one hour from our holiday. Many Egyptian five star hotels are way off the mark and only really equate to 3 by European standards. the SB Hilton is in my opinion a very genuine 4* hotel.
