Hotel Zoso - Palm Springs

ZoSo is a somewhat eclectic hotel that by the fall of 2013 will become the new HardRock Hotel. Great location in walking distance to all of downtown stores & restaraunts. Pool is undersized but I suspect the HardRock will take care of that!

the hotel is beautifully deocorated, however there wasn't as much youthful energy as we would have liked. The rooms were spacious and orderly. We requested more towels and they delivered them within 2 minutes. The pool is small, but there are plenty of lounge chairs. The poolside bar closes around 5-6, which is a bummer, b/c you can't bring your own […] drinks to the pool, so if you want to stay outside until the sunsets, you will go thirsty. The view from the pool is spectacular, and the location is close to everything. I would have enjoyed a complimentary breakfast for the $30 resort fee that was charged to every room, however there was free internet in the rooms, which is what comes as part of the fee. Overall a great hotel, with hip decor & great location. The only down side is a $35 a day "resort fee.". This includes velet parking, wifi, & 2 bottles of water. This turned a great value hotel, into should've stayed somewhere else.

Loved the stay...fabulous decor. Makes a gr8 base-camp for exploring downtown, especially the Thursday night "Village Fest". Zoso makes you feel like you're someplace else. Plan to return soon.

This is my 2nd time staying at Zoso. I love the location, you can walk to everything. The rooms are great and with Hard Rock buying the hotel, I can't wait to see the enhancements they make. The pool area is probably the worst part of the hotel, but I'm sure that will get fixed up. They have actually added a few umbrellas for those who want some shade […] and they don't charge you for them like they do with the cabanas. The daily resort fee is a bit excessive for what you get. The hotel is nice - wish it had self-parking, but other than that it was fine. It is ideally located within walking distance of all major Palm Springs locations. Our destinations required driving, and the valets always asked if we needed directions. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable room. Good value.

I was incredibly happy and surprised with this hotel. I have been in Palm Springs a few times on business and none of the other hotels that I have visited compare. The rooms are comfortable and inviting. I was not able to work from the hotel, but really wished I had the opportunity! The surrounding area was excellent. I highly recommend!

Obviously they are ready to convert to The HardRock Hotel! Maintenance looked like it stopped a while ago. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Pool area staff was very uninterested in helping anyone. Pool is too small, lounge chairs were old and some broken. In the planter behind the cabana we purchased for our day use was a tampon! This place was great!! We got a facial and massage and it was wonderful. The staff were courteous and prompt. It's unfortunate it is closing and we hope that they keep the staff. They made all the difference.

Overall out time was fun. We had a group of girls, and we enjoyed the basics of the hotel. Pros: good location, awesome timeliness of the airport shuttle, clean and modern. Cons: they said the hotel was completely booked, but it seemed so dead in there that it was hard to believe. Everything was great! Stayed there on Coachella weekend #2. Rested like a baby. Only complaint was the mandatory room service charge of $30 per night aside to what you paid for the room. That includes coffe, water but that's a ridiculus rate for these.

Seemed like a decent deal online but that quickly changed once we arrived. Upon check in they gave us the key to someone else's room. Then when we went back down to the front desk they acted like that was no big deal, no apology. The room itself was decent but the hotel was filled with rowdy people that day. When we got back from dinner there were […] a couple squad cars, an ambulance and a fire truck out front. The worst part is that they charged me a $30 "resort fee". Hotel Zoso was a disappointment. First, the hotel is supposed to be a non smoking establishment and our room clearly reeked of smoke. Next, there was some huge 5 day party going on where most of the events were taking place @ Zoso of which none of the staff informed us about at check in. I mean I love a good party myself, but when drunken party goers […] are wandering the hotel and causing a ruckus outside of our room at all hours of the night, we can not get any rest because of the noise level. Also, the pool bar was under staffed. Just 1 bartender for a hotel that is at capacity?? Most of our time at the pool was spent standing in a line at the bar. What’s up with the additional resort fees? It is so annoying to get additional charges when you thought the room was paid for. Why don’t they just add them into the booking price? Staff was nice. Room was large and clean. Carpet and furnishings could use some updating.

That was actually the only thing I liked about it. I requested a refrigerator but it wasn't in my room. I had to speak to two front desk clerks and the second one I spoke to informed me that refrigerators are only provided for people with medical needs. That information is not disclosed ahead of time when making the reservation. Also, there is no choice […] of self-parking and if you need to get something out of your car you have to ask a valet to get it for you. The room was a standard as a hotel can be. No bells or whistles. We were placed in a room on the east side. Honestly, I think we could've gotten a better room for much less at a Comfort or Quality Inn. Lobby and pool area were nice and the 50% off breakfast was nice. However, the elevator malfunctioned everytime we used it. Not cool....

Exterior maintenance was terrible! Looks like slums. Dining service extremely slow. Valet required parking is OK, but they couldn't find my car for over 20 minutes when they were slow.

Careful when booking via hotels.com the resort / valet fee of $39 is not included and not disclosed when booking here, is a surprise upon arrival. After complaining for 15 minutes Manager voided charge but next morning upon check out hidden fee was there again (system problems rrright) again had to wait 15 min for Manager approval to remove fee. Spent four nights here and had a quiet comfortable stay. Nice to have the bar in the lobby. Even though it didn't open till 5pm, staff sent someone over to serve us a drink mid-afternoon. We had a room overlooking the back parking lot but with a view of the mountains. Only one patio chair but we really didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Pool […] view rooms would be nice for sure. Elevator shows its mechanical age for sure, needs a retrofit. Staff were all great, friendly and welcoming. I couldn't get my son to leave. He wanted to stay there forever. The location couldn't have been better. Everything was a stone's throw away. Also, the service was perfect. The valet parking guys went above and beyond to help us whether it was to retrieve a forgotten bottle of wine from the car or to help us decide on which attractions to visit.

Hotel Zoso was a great stay. Family friendly with many ammenities. Large, clean rooms with good service. The pool area is however small and in great need of a renovation. We would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

The room was very nice...clean and quiet. Just what I wanted. The hotel itself is beautiful...the bar and lounge area, entrance and pool area. We could find lounge chairs at the pool to sit in, which was wonderful. Only one thing was sort of weird and that was the elevator in the second lobby...it was slow and squealed when closing/opening.

Hotel Zoso is a fabulous location, hotel restaurant food was great, staff was congenial and efficient, beautiful pool side views, and lobby is extremely large with lots of seating. Centrally located and walking distance to a multitude of restaurants and night life! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I thought it was very nice. it had a resort fee that I am not sure what I got for it except it included valet parking, which i prefer to park myself. You need to add the resort fee when comparing the price to other competing locations. Rooms were very quiet and first class. Nice pool. Very central to downtown PS.

We adore this hotel and stay here often. This time, much to our surprise, we were upgraded to a lovely room with an entire sitting area and wetbar. Very nice indeed. My only complaint, if I must have one, would be that the room's heating and airconditioning blows directly on the bed, making the guests either too warm or too cold. the mandatory resort fee of $30 should be included in the listed price. it's mandatory and not optional. thus, i felt a little rip off because it wasn't part of the price of the hotel.
