The windows open, which is nice and it has a good price/value ratio. My biggest complaint is the coffee set-up: the pot is wedged between two shelves with not enough room to open the lid. You can only partially pull it out because it is hard-wired in, so in an extremely akward manner, you have to pull it out, flip open the lid and hold it that way while […] filling it part way with water. You can't fill it all the way because, pulling it out as far as you can, it is at an angle - the water starts sloshing out before it gets full. It is really a two person job. The service was wonderful and the room was really roomy and nice. My husband is in a wheelchair so we had a couple of issues getting to the second floor but it was fine. The hotel was great and the staff was excellent. The only problem encountered were inconsiderate guests who hoarded the moving carts overnight. We have to travel with so much luggage […] and equipment for my husband and could not get a cart. The hotel should enforce guests not keeping the carts in the rooms and hoarding them. We were very pleased with the wonder breakfast (nice selection of hot and cold food). Facility decorated very nice, and the rooms were great. Did hear any road noise. This hotel was wonderful. My friend and I were traveling across the country to move and this place was a great place to stop. The HUGE hot tub was especially great for our sore muscles after driving for 2 days. Front desk staff was very helpful to help find us a good place to eat and they even gave us a coupon to the restaurant. Breakfast was okay. It has deteriorated a little in condition, but it is still not bad and it was very clean. On a recent road trip I had the opportunity to stay at Country Inn and Suites in Amarillo, TX. I had my husband book the room ahead of our arrival so had no idea what the reviews were etc. This hotel is very new, clean, well kept, the staff was polite and professional. Room was spacious and clean. Nicely appointed except for the shades on the wall-mounted lamps (oversized). Bed was comforatable, shower was well-maintained, and other fixtures were well-selected. Would like for the TV and remote to have had a "guide" feature. One had to scroll - slowly, the only speed it had - see what was on and then move to the next. […] If it was a commercial, you still had no idea what program was showing. Time-consuming and frustrating. Hot breakfast featured link sausages, scrambled eggs and french toast, plus a waffle iron for making your own. On the cold side was mixed fruit (which emptied and was not refilled even though it was only 7:45), a few varieties of cereal, oranges and bananas. Beverages included three different juice options and water, milk, four pump-pots of different coffees, and hot water for tea. We were unable to experience other amenities such as pool and exercise room due to our own schedule. Afternoon check-in person was a little distant, not unfriendly but not amiable either, but she was polite and efficient. Morning desk person for check-out was cheery and gracious.
