Stayed here one night October 2011. Drove up from Boston, arrived about 10:30 p.m. Nobody at front desk but my key was laid out on the counter for me. Nicely furnished room with antiques and creaky floorboards! Small desk but no chair for writing or computing. Wireless access worked fine. Bathroom was small (to be expected in a building of that age), […] no shelf for toothbrush or glass. Comfortable bed, good towels and toiletries. Room was chilly - no individual controls for heat. Extra blanket provided (and used). Radiator came on in the morning. Not much in the way of restaurants in the neighborhood - one in the hotel and one across the street, coffee shop on same side of street. I only tried the latter. We love old hotels and inns. They have such charm and history. The decor was very nice. It is a pet friendly and we had to listen to a barking dog for hours at bedtime as the owner was out to dinner. We feel that pets are OK but not unattended. It was noted that the patio and the sidewalk needed to be swept as there were sand, dirt and twigs on the […] ground. not within walking distance of the main local attractions, but certainly an easy drive. nice quirky old inn with a top-notch restaurant. the shower was a miserable device reminiscent of third world hotels in decay. Overall, the inn was very enjoyable and I would book it again.

Very lovely and quaint. 3 story inn with immaculate rooms and very pleasant staff. However, if you are tall or claustrophobic, then this is not for you. Rooms are cozy but very condensed.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. The staff was very friendly and polite. Wasn't really a big fan of the two flights of stairs. Our room was clean and comfy. Wasn't a large room and thought it was a bit overpriced. No breakfast on Sundays or anydays, no pool,not much around as far as stores. The Kennebunk Inn is a great bargain . The building is old with older amenities but still very comfortable. Do not expect all of the bells and whistles of a modern hotel. Now that I've seen the Kennebunk Inn and the Econolodge, I wish I had chosen the Econolodge. It was nicer, offered more, and cost less.
Very comfortable and nice for a place built in 1799. We loved it. Wish we could have been there when the reasturant was open.

The innkeepers at the Kennebunk Inn are obviously trying very hard to create a tasteful ambiance in this historic inn. They have modernized as appropriate while still allowing the inn to maintain its 1799 charm. The owners are trained chefs and are principally interested in running the attached restaurant, which we did not sample, but which I have no […] reason to believe is not excellent. While I would recommend this inn to anyone and will consider staying there again, I must offer some constructive criticism. We came back to the inn at 9:30 at night and found that a large party had evidently rented quite a few rooms. These people were shouting to one another, talking, laughing - in short, having a great time. We had hoped to go to sleep early. By 11:20 I called the front desk. The noise subsided somewhat and by 12:30 they were all quiet. Needless to say, we spent the next day sleep deprived. The inn needs a policy on large parties (e.g., wedding parties must rent the entire inn or not at all!) and be vigilant about quieting guests down and/or providing them with an alternate room downstairs in which to visit rather than in the hallways outside other people's bedrooms. Small but clean rooms, polite and helpful staff. Caution - this older historic building doesn't appear to have an elevator. While the first floor is accessible, the upper floors may not be.

The Inn was fine, but don't expect too much. The room was clean, but it's an older building with squeaky floor and bed. Other than that, it was ok, easy to find and close to Kennebunkport without having to pay the price to stay there.

"CAUTION TO PET OWNERS & BREAKFAST IS MISLEADING!!!"
This was a nice facility although they have a limited number of rooms that are for guests with pets. The ammenities stated pet friendly but after the reservation the inn was not contacted to ensure we would be able to bring our dog. Upon arrival the front clerk had to check with someone who said we could have our dog in the room but this could be a […] problem under different circumstances. We were slightly dissapointed when the ammenaties also indicated complementary breakfast but the front desk person informed us that only coffie/juice were provided. A comfortable room for the money and I particularly like that it did not have a hotel chain atmosphere. It could withstand some renovation as it is apparent that has not occurred in quite some time. Bur overall, clean, comfortable and well worth the money.
