Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas - Cancun

I booked this hotel just to spend a couple of night prior to my return flight. The hotel is average, old building, with not a friendly staff at all. It served its purpose, just to sleep in.

Our shower was very cold. We asked that they fix it to no avail. Also we couldn't make a reservation at the theme restaurants because of timing of our activities. No flexibility. Would not stay there again.

This IHG/Holiday Inn location is fair at best. The food was only fair, the room we had was clean and the bed was okay. We never had "HOT" water. We informed the front desk twice and a maintenance staff member was sent to the room but was never able to solve the problem. The beach was great and it was clean and manicured daily. This hotel couldn't quite make up its mind whether it was a family hotel or a quiet adult hotel. It had two pools, one with pulsating music and geared for the younger element and one quieter. The Hotel was ok, I had only one night, and very early check out, the room was simple but well presented and the bathroom had all the amenities. Reception staff was very helpful and polite, unfortunately I couldn't use the hotel facilities as per my short stay.

A mediocre hotel. No business services--not even a FAX machine. Food delivered to room wasvery poor in terms of quality and quantity. Administration/Management was well blow par. "Dog Friendly" was an overstatement. We will not return.

The food was good...the drinks were great...the room was beautiful!!! The beach is not great, not the pretty blue water like it is closer to the hotel zone. The pool is amazing though. I did not appreciate the way the hotel employees handled my situation, they did not seem to care that my sandals were stolen from my room and they did not even apologize or try to replace them. Overall the hotel is good but my room smelled badly as I first walked in the door and got heavier as I stayed. My first trip to the bathroom revealed black mold around the door. I was only there for 2 days so I just spent most of my time out doors and didn't complain. Raul the bartender and the daytime doorman were both very delightful.

When I booked the motel the overview of the motel stated that it had a restuarant as well as the buffet. However when we went to make reservations we were told they no longer had the resaurant forcing us to go out for dinner. We did not want to eat the same thing two times a day. Kind of disappointing.

The all-inclusive rate is a real bargain. The food a at the buffets is not all that creative but the menus at the theme-based restaurnats are more imaginative. The strong point of this hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They are really great.

I'm not impresed about the facilities of this hotel, it is clean and the staff is realy nice and kind, one of my favorit activities when I travel is having good meals, and this is not the place. In general terms is a good place to stay, mostly if you need to be near downtown, and you are expecting to spend time out the hotel.

Fornøyd med oppholdet, bra service, bra renhold, bra beliggenhet på stranden. Det vi savna var mer fasiliteter rundt hotellet eks; butikker og utesteder.I informasjonen om hotellet framkom det at alle rom hadde havutsikt - vi fikk rom mot hovedveien, mye ettermiddagsol og noe trafikk støy.

Dejligt hotel uden de store armbevægelser. Ligger godt i forhold til byen, der dog viste sig ikke at være en "by". Der var mere nærvær end de enorme hoteller der var ud af den lange hotelvej. Roligt, men alligevel lige ud til vandet.

el hotel en general está bien, lo que no nos gusto fue la alberca, esta fria, figurense en cancun y el agua la sentiamos fria, corre un aire helado en el area de la alberca y para las 5 pm te tienes que salir, no exagero. Para ir de negocios esta bien el hotel pero para ir con la familia a vacacionar de plano no lo recomiendo.

Hotel limpio algo frío por lo sencillo de su mobiliario, la habitación amplia, critico el que nos proporcionaron dos camas matrimoniales para tres huéspedes en la misma hab. lo cual resulto incomodo para descansar mínimo se requiere para este caso una cama Quin, no obstante el tamaño de la hab. el área de lavabo esta muy reducida y se estorba con la […] puerta del baño, RESALTO la atención del personal de servicio es excelente sobre todo la de restaurantes (una FELICITACION), en cuanto a la persona que ofrece los tours locales no da la información correcta, ya que me vendió boletos de casi $500 para visitar Isla Mujeres que según ella incluía desayuno barra libre en barco y en la estadía en la isla así como alimentos, y solo nos dieron barra libre en el barco y no en la playa con ese boleto, cabe mencionar que el desayuno solo es una pieza de pan con jugo de piña o naranja, otra critica es en el sentido de que el guardia de seguridad persigue a las visitas porque no traen brazalete del hotel y solo les permite entrar hasta la recepción, la playa esta en medio de dos embarcaderos lo cual le quita vista para disfrutar el paisaje, y todo el tiempo hay dos personas sacando hierva de la orilla de los casi 70 metros que tiene de playa el hotel, ademas ofrece vista a la Laguna y al mar y la Laguna no existe solo se ve un poco de agua de ella. Hotellet og personalet er vennlig for folk i alle aldersgrupper. Hovedtyngden ligger på barnefamilier og eldre mennesker. Dette er et rolig hotell og passer for deg som ønsker å koble ut og nyte stillheten. Hotellet arrangerer div arrangementer på kveldene feks mexicansk aften, karaoke ol. Hotellet har basseng, barnebasseng og et "avslappningsbasseng" […] samt massasje ved bassenget. Rommene er store og helt ok, alt funger og det er det viktigste :) Det kan nevnes at stranden ikke er så annvendelig grunnet mye sjøgress, men det er flere "public beaches" i nærområdet som en kan benytte seg av. Hotellet ligger et stykke fra "den nye byen", men bussforbindelsen er formidabel. Det går busser hele tiden - rekker du ikke den ene, så kommer det ny buss innen et par minutter. Bussen koster 8,5 pesos. Husk å betale med små seddler/mynter, ellers blir en fort en lettlurt turist. Gamle byen ligger heller ikke langt ifra hotellet, men det er i turistområdet det meste foregår, selv om det er koselig å ta seg en liten tur inn til gamlebyen for å kikke. Cancun har mange aktiviteter å tilby, feks: Jungle trip (en kjører med speedbåter til et rev hvor en snorkler, Xcaret (diger fornøyelsespark) husk at i parken er det mange aktiviteter innkludert som feks å kunne snorkle i en grotte, se på dyr et kjempe show fra kl 18-20 osv, men det er også aktiviteter som kan kjøpes utenom som feks svømme med hai, delfiner, rokker osv. Dette er svært dyre aktiviteter - pass på så du ikke kommer ut og tenker "rip off". Chicen Itza - pyramidene som står igjen etter Mayaene - dette er en fin dagstur hvor en først besøker en grotte hvor en kan bade i naturlig jordvann, en koselig resturant, og deretter til pyramidene. En kan og ta turer ut til små øyer som ligger ca 20min med båt fra Cancun. Her kan en leie golfbiler og kjøre rundt øyen. Det er mange turer en kan kjøpe, men husk å ikke betale for mye. Comparing to other hotels in Cancun hotel zone, this hotel provides a good room at reasonable price. Room is a bit small but comfortable enough. Use this hotel for business or family vacation, not for honeymoon. w/ TV, coffee machine, 2 bottled water, shampoo&soap. w/o fridge.
