This is a great location right in Ybor. We walked to the various bars and restaurants in the area and had a great time. The room was a decent size and we had a whirlpool bathtub in the living room area. It was kind of an awkward set up for the whirlpool but it was still a nice to have after a long day. We always stay at a Hampton Inn when vacationing because it's a family-friendly hotel with an excellent staff and a reputation for a clean room. This particular Hampton Inn in Ybor City does not disappoint. Pros: One of the nicest and most helpful staff we've ever come across, a clean room with a small fridge and microwave as an added bonus, complimentary […] breakfast in the morning (not as big as some of the other Hampton Inns we've stayed at, but definitely sufficient), close to highways for travel, and a very pretty and fun neighborhood to explore. Cons: pool was outside and a bit chilly (we're just used to indoor pools, so it's just a con for us), you have to pay for parking (a first for us), and parking in downtown Tampa in general is a bit confusing since you have to pay for all street parking. All in all, we loved our stay. The hotel was perfectly situated for our needs, an hour drive to both Disney World and Sarasota, and a 15 minute drive to both Busch Gardens and the airport. The staff were very welcoming and the room was clean and ready to go. It's a great location if you are going out in Ybor City. My only complaint is that the free internet didn't work great in my room (but I was at the far end of the hall, so probably something to do with that). A great deal for what you get.

I stayed here for a bachelorette party in Ybor City. It was right on the strip within walking distance of restaurants and the clubs. If you're going out for a night on the town and aren't driving home stay here. Be advised though the parking lot is small and if it's a busy weekend you may need to park in the overflow lot behind the hotel.

The receptionist on the nigh shift would NOT smile under any circumstances. We must have offended her telepathically before our arrival. The Internet service was almost non-existent. But the hotel is very well located for all Ybor City amenities and the staff during the day shifts was reasonably competent and friendly.

I was a little worried about the neighborhood and location of the hotel at first. But I went out every night with my boyfriend and I never felt any danger. The hotel had great security in place with all outside doors opening only with a valid hotel key. The room was great and clean. This hotel is located within easy walking distance of all of Ybor City's restaurants and nightlife. The hotel entrance is hard to find. While the address is 7th Avenue, parking is on another street that can be hard to find initially. Extremely busy and 'special event' weekend, but staff made up for inconveince I first experience. Registration was having computer issues, so after 3 attempts, I finally got a room that wasn't already occupied. They were sincerely apologetic about the entire situation and inconveince for myself and family....especially since we had to tote our luggage […] back and forth each time. Management immediately 'comped' ALL my charges during my stay. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly and showed real southern hospitality. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable and anything we asked for was done in a very timely manner. I would suggest this hotel to everyone & yes, I would stay there again.

Liked the free breakfast. The room was pretty decent in size. The pillows were not good at all- if you suffer from neck or shoulder problems, you might want to bring your own. Nice that it was a secure hotel because the surrounding area was shady and there were many night-owls creeping about. Easy to get anywhere in Tampa from there.

Well, let me begin by saying that anything complementary or good that I could say about this hotel as a result of our one-night stay is and will be overshadowed by the fact that we ended up staying in a smoking room through no fault of our own. Suffice to say, the hotel was quite difficult to find – with all the road detours and having to navigate at […] night. Upon our arrival, there was no direction to find the entrance to the hotel. Hotels.com mentioned an additional charge for daily parking. What hotels.com did NOT mention was that parking space was very limited and it was “first come, first serve”. Upon entering the hotel, we were quite surprised to find out that the hotel was fully booked and that we were placed in a smoking room. This accommodation was contrary to the fact that we booked a non-smoking room in advance of this stay. Furthermore, I found it appalling that the front desk personnel were not even slightly concerned or sympathetic to the booking mistake. They could’ve attempted to make assurances like, “we will contact you ASAP if a non-smoking room becomes available and we will transfer you immediately”, or something of the like. A simple “sorry” was all we received. In a nutshell, we felt like we were staying inside a dump. The entire room smelled, including the bathroom. In conclusion, this hotel stay was a big mistake. We were given the room we booked when we checked in, a King Suite non smoking. Five seconds after entering the room the desk called and told us we had to move because our room wasnt guaranteed. They moved us to a tiny, double bed, smoking room that smelled so bad my nose and eyes burned. I picked this hotel for its location, i enjoy nightlife, and in particular i enjoy being within walking distance to a local epicenter of it. Thus it was a perfect fit in that regard. What i didn't expect was for how clean and comfortable the rooms and hotel would be, or how just simply friendly, welcoming and professional the staff at all levels were. […] If it was within their pervue to help, they would do so without hesitation. My room was large and comfortable, the bed had a dream inducing soporific effect that was wonderful after some late nights. Suggestions for improvement would be to up the quality of the scrambled eggs at breakfast, not that it matters as everything else is fine and tasty, but the eggs seem to be oddly out of place where everything else is quite good. Also increasing the internet bandwidth to the hotel would be nice as it can get painfully slow at peak times. We encountered some problems when we stayed 5 nights. For 2 of the days, we could not get the front desk to answer the phone to set a wake up call. We tried both the wake up button and the "O" button repeatedly. Also, one day the housekeeper did not come by despite the fact we were out of the room by 9am. Otherwise, everything was just fine.

This hotel is located right in the heart of Tampa's Ybor City. If you've never been, think New Orleans; that's what it feels like. Lots of old buildings with unique shops. There is a coffee roasting company down the street, and the smell of coffee is delicious. Good breakfast, friendly staff, clean room and comfortable bed. Parking was expensive, and we usually had to park in the lot across the street (at no additional cost), but at least we had a place to park in Ybor and could walk to so many areas.

Just like my title states, Average Hotel but bad location. Upon arrival the front desk tell you not to go left because its the "Dark Side" it's never a good sign. We had a guy try and start a fight with my son as we tried entering the elevators. I did not feel safe in this hotel due to its poor location.

The room was not very clean, there was rust on the bathroom door, the carpet was old and ripped, and the noise was horrible. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We did not like the parking situation. It was extremely tight and there were clearly not enough spaces for the number of rooms in the hotel. Def not worth the $8.00 per night parking fee. Hotel is right on the busy 7th avenue portion of Ybor city. Walking distance to a lot of nightlife. Hotel has added security measures to ensure guest safety.

It took two calls and some work on my own to get the Internet Wifi working. Second call told me to use the ATTWifi tower instead of the HHOTEL (BROKEN) tower that the instructions from the front desk had told me to use. For the TV it always came on pointing at the Hotels ADD channel at almost FULL Volume and it normally took three or four tries before […] it would stay on long enough to change the channel and lower the volume. As for the beds if you like HARD beds this is your place. AND worst of all the the highest the AC could be set was 75 (I'm 60 and from florida anything much below 80 is COLD) and that ment it didn't auto-cutoff until below 70 so to control the temputer you hand to turn it off and on be the manual switch. It would have been more helpful to know about the transportation from the hotel to convention center earlier. I found it to be ok but would have preferred the shuttle to have left a little earlier since I had 8am scheduled Sessions. I worked around that issue.

Very good experience. We like to stay in Ybor City when we visit Tampa as we can walk from our hotel to many bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room was very comfortable.

Not the best location for a family to stay. There is a train station right next door and the train sounds the horn in the middle of the night. The hotel charges you for parking. Also, parking is scarce so you might have to park in a lot across the street which could be dangerous.

The hotel is lovely and clean. The staff is friendly and even went above and beyond to get us a wine opener. The only opportunity for the hotel would be to have more towels already in the room. We booked a room for 4 adults and there were not enough bath towels. The staff did bring extras to our room, but I would think they should already be there.

Stayed there with the family the night before going on a cruise. Ended up leaving my vehicle there because parking was cheaper and they offered free shuttle to and from cruise ship. No problem getting ride to ship.But when we docked I called to get shuttle. 20 minutes later I called back 20 minutes later I called a cab.
