nice service to fit me up with a cancelled room timely. The location is just near by China Town. Food and sightseeing is around. Hotel itself is comfortable enough with nice staff.

excellent service, friendly staff, good position we would recomend a stay the only negative is that the decor in the roms is looking a little tired.

The Scarlett Hotel was an easy walk to both Chinatown and the principle subway stations. The hotel itself was well maintained and staffed with a knowledgeable and friendly crew. Hotel is conveniently located near Chinatown, and lots of cafes/pubs/boutiques in Ann Siang Hill. Staff service is good, and public areas clean and cosy. If you love being near Chinatown, this is one of the hotels to stay in. It was built 7 yrs ago, is absolutely fabulously fitted out in French Provincal style and is almost totally red and black! Food at bfast was great, but didn't eat at their restaurant so can't comment. Be aware however that only a few rooms have either a window and/or balcony so, […] if you're a bit claustrophobic (as I am) a windowless, airconditioned room could be a bit too much to cope with for more than a night (which was our stay). Should we stay in Singapore again, we would stay here but request a window room. Luggage storage and free shower available at end of day available before your next long air trip which was fabulous. We had a tiny room, as expected, but very well appointed. Good shower, well lit, clean etc. Very well located for Chinatown, which is fascinating, and where there is good cheap food.

Well located right next to China Town. Friendly and service minded staff. Rooms are perhaps not the biggest but they have a good standard. Highly recommended.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the free internet was intermittent.

The Scarlet staff are great, and the rooms are functional (although poor height chairs for working at a desk), although the lack of windows might put some off. Location great for Chinatown, for local bars and restaurants, for Boat Quay and for the inland harbour with the new Sands hotel etc Lovely rooftop bar Try it!

Very easy access from the metro station. it's a nice walk to the hotel. It's very close to the Buddha Temple and the hop on/hop off bus. You can also walk to the chinese market. We stayed for 1 night in October. Very friendly welcome, and indeed staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Room was tiny as we expected from previous reviews. We paid for a balcony - this was a total waste of money. It overlooked a multi car park, so close you could almost touch it. I've stayed this hotel 2 years ago when I visited Singapore. Well-decorated and very conceptual quite small though. Ideal for couple's romance retreat too!

Just feet away from Chinatown central and within walking distance of the financial district, this hotel was located perfectly for my purposes. Well for one night this hotel is perfectly situated, right in Singapore's Chinatown. I don't think more than one night I could have handled as the rooms were so tiny that we had to put a case in the bathroom, but the bed was comfy and was ideal for what we wanted. I booked only 2 nights at Scarlet, hoping it would be as nice as how it looked online. It turned out that the room is so small it hardly gives you any space to turn. Walls have some smudges that could have been taken care of easily. And when I booked the room. It was never mentioned that rooms will be without windows. I was never told about the no window […] issue till we got to the room. The bell boy mentioned it before he left!!! We had 17 hrs of flight and walked half a mile of hall way at Scarlet before entering the room. Forgot to mention that at front desk when we checked in, I asked if we can stay at 2nd fl., he replied without hesitant and said the rooms upstairs are much smaller, the one he gave me was much bigger!!! It turned out to be a big L I E !!!!! Upstairs are all executive rooms, they are all bigger and nicer!!!! After the first night, i found smudges on the mirrors and towels were all for torn on edges. All public are. Are restaurants, bars, are all nice and well ma The are different story. Location is very good. I like the Chinatown historical area. It is your call. If you like cute hotels, this is for you. Well located at the edge of Chinatown this hotel is well-appointed and very confortable. The staff are friendly, helpful and competent. It was not worth paying extra for a balcony, because it looks out onto an ugly muti-storey car park. There is an excellent, expensive, restaurant on the roof.

Very comfortable and quiet room, although there was no window! The bed was comfortable, air conditioning good and just a 5 minute walk to the underground.

Close to the Club Street: Lots of options to eat and and just have a drink! Enjoy a Dinner at the rooftop bar!

This hotel was 'boutique' about 5 years ago. Now, it is tired, disorganised and in several times of staying there - the internet never works in the rooms - and Wifi didn't work in the lobby. Short answer is that no one cared to fix the issue. Stay somewhere else.

I would classify this hotel and romantically quaint. I had a smaller room that was warmly designed and comfortable. It's location in Chinatown and being near the MRT made getting around quite easy. The rooftop lounge was great to have an evening drink and relax. It is not a place for families but for singles and couples it is quite nice.

Staying in Chinatown while being in Singapore was supposed to be fun, nice and a overall a good experience. The room given was blind, small. To have the room done you would have to hand the panel on the door, wake up call was "forgotten" and no excuse given, which almost cost me my trip to Malaysia. Reservation was taken for a taxi the next morning […] to catch the plane to KL by one staff member, next morning I was told no taxi booking could be made. No excuse for any of this. The staff was being very contradictory in comments or explanation, my credit card was charged wrongly and no reasoning could be given, no apologizes given by any of the 5 people staff standing behind the counter. The jacuzzi is not cleaned or well maintained and I nearly cut myself in the jacuzzi because of tiles part not taken out of the pool. I will never stay in this hotel again and definitely advise any of my friends or network to stay there. The price is overated for the room and most definitely for an unprofessional crew, which may be used of dealing with customers not expressing any comments or asking any question. I chose the Scarlet Hotel because of the location in Chinatown (which I wanted to explore) and the reviews. The hotel has a boutique feel and is plush throughout. My room had a balcony (I never used...too hot) that would work for smokers. Non smoking hotel. Quality bedding. The neighborhood is interesting and varied, easy walking to the subway, chinatown […] shops, the hawker center food court is right around the corner. Loved this hotel. So our room had no window. No matter at all. We had come by train from KL, and it was near to the station, also near to the Maxwell Hawker center (great food) and on the edge of China town. The staff were great, helping us sort out our luggage cabs etc. OK so they should, but they went the extra mile. We stayed here for two days on a stop-over and loved it. Close to chinatown markets and food street (4minutes walk) to the temples and next streets are nice bars and restaurants as well. The style is out of Scarlet O'Hara times and the service definately more than you would expect for the price. Best value we had so far on our trips.

It was nice hotel in a nice area near China town and lots of shots. The room was small but nice. Very fast cable internet but wireless only in reception. Our room was under land level so we didn't had any windows which I had no idea when I was booking this room.

My husband and I stayed here in Singapore and loved this hotel. The decor is beautiful and the room was really cozy. The best part was the amazing customer service. They offered us ice and turn down service at night. When we asked for a wakeup call at 0400, they brought coffee to our room for us. I thought the Scarlett was great. It's clean and elegant in every way. Rooms are a bit on the small side, but it is still a very nice room. Great location in Chinatown. I stayed a week and was very satisfied. The breakfast is worth going to once.

Fantastic value for money, very cool boutique hotel, lovely rooms altho small. I was lucky to receive an upgrade, so had a balcony, wonderful. Halifi, the Guest Relations Manager, is a role model for all hotels. Will definitely stay there again.

The discount room did not have windows this was no big deal I was only here 1 night waiting to fly out the next day. Close to China town market and subway. I would stay here again. Aircondition worked well nice shower bedding and so on.

Chose this hotel because of the feedback from other hotel guests. Location is good, the check in and check out process were speedy. Service was good, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The only thing I do not like was the room I was staying in. Although it was spotlessly clean with all the standard amenities (no complaint here), it has no window […] and was quite claustrophobic - sometimes you can have windowless room without feeling cramped into a small space - not this one. After arriving from London and the shabby treatment we experienced,there was no comparison with the exceptional and friendly service we experienced at The Scarlet Hotel. They were so understanding of the fact that we were tired from a long journey and expedited our room to us. London could learn a thing or two about customer service in Singapore.
