Clerk, Kyra, was rude put us in a pet room when we did not ask for one or know that this was a pet motel. Said she could not change room. After several phone calls to corprate office and hotels.com she moved us to a non dog room the only problem was there were dogs two doors down who kept yelping. After move Kyra was very unfriendly. Stayed here on the way to the Grand Canyon. Very nice hotel. Clean and well kept, fairly new friendly staff. Cedar City was much more scenic than I had thought. At the suggestion of the Front Desk we made a trip up the canyon to a cozy steak house which was an awesome drive and great meal. Would stay there again any time.

If you are coming hear to sleep... Keep looking somewhere else. This has to be the WORST night sleep I have had. The walls are soooo paper thin, you can hear everything: the kids running up and down the hall, dogs barking, bathrooms, and every man getting lucky that night, and that is all while our TV was on. For starters, the hotel was clearly not full and when I inquired about a second room, they would not budge on the stated rate which was higher than what I booked through Hotels.com. They put us in the last room on the north side of the hotel directly by the elevator. However, the elevator wasn't working and the stairs on the north end were closed due […] to a renovation which meant we had to walk to the far south of the building to the south stairs, haul our luggage up a flight of stairs and walk back to the north end of the building. No one offered to help with our luggage. The looks new on the outside, but fairly outdated on the inside. We stayed at this hotel for. 3 day weekend of skiing at nearby Brian Head ski resort. Worked out very well. Room was very clean. Very quiet which made for good sleep. I would think a holiday inn express would be ok but this one had paper thin walls through which you could hear EVERYTHING. Our room happened to be over the pool and exercise room hich you could both hear well. Slept very poorly

Original bathroom smelled very sour. When we asked to be moved the desk attendant was rude and uninterested in the problem. The new room also smelled bad. Wont stay there again.

Overall the stay was good. But I noticed that the fire doors on the south stairwell were blocked open on all floors, even though the signs said they should be shut -- this is a safety issue. The room did not have a microwave, unlike a similar room at a competitor's hotel where we stayed the next night. The hotel is at the far south end of Cedar City […] and we missed the turn the first time we approached the hotel on the town's main street, winding up on the freeway and having to drive several miles south before we could turn around. The signs directing motorists to the frontage road need to be improved. The portions of breakfast selections were quite carefully controlled (small drink cups, machines dispensing pancakes, carton sizes etc), resulting in an impression of the hotel being focused on economizing to the point that it overshadowed the effort to demonstrate hospitality for the guests. Our stay was ok. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express at other locations and this hotel was the worst of them all. The carpet was very dirty and the room had a weird smell. The breakfast was good and the people at the front desk were very friendly. I think the hotel needs some good cleaning..especially carpets.

Wallpaper peeling in bathroom, mirror not cleaned thoroughly.The room seemed dingy, the sheets were wrinkled like someone had been on the beds before we arrived. I have had great experiences with Holiday Inn Express in the past. This hotel was below my overall expectations considering the price and location.

We had a great time at this location. The staff was friendly upon check in. The room was clean, although it had an odd smell we couldn't identify, but it wasn't too bad. We came to town for the Shakespeare Festival and usually stay in walking distance of the festival. Good Points: OK location. Newer hotel, Breakfast is good. Not so Good Points: Dirty carpets show lack of concern for cleanliness and attention to detail. Paperthin walls - we heard a dog barking in a room but staff couldn't find it... and dogs and animals are welcome in the hotel... Bathtub \ shower is a plastic insert that creaks and squeeks when used […] - next door got up at 4:30am to shower and we got up too - until they were done with their bathtub. Beds are hard and pillows are small and mushy. We prepaid through Hotels.com but front desk staff insisted on a card for 'incidentals'. I inquired what incidentals may be (they have no room service, spa, etc.) and was told it was in case we break the bed or something similar... Hotel staff was very nice. Found a dirty sheet just before leaving. Did not say anything. They probably would have been more than happy to help. Overall the hotel was great and I would recommend to my family and friends.

The staff were super, the hotel seem new, the food was par for the course, the rooms on the freeway side, or odd number on first floor, were noisey, but otherwise good overall. You could take your chances with a cheaper motel in old part of town but I am sure it would be a lot more noisey.

Checked into the hotel later in the evening on a business trip to Salt Lake City. The clerk was friendly, the reservation was correct and the front lobby looked crisp and clean. The hotel was was kept clean and the staff was friendly. It was just a little loud. It's not that big of a hotel so you hear every sound that the person above or below you makes. Also, the room that we were in needed darker curtains. Kind of had a rough nights sleep with the light from the street lamps hitting our faces and hearing noise below us.

After a long day of driving, my husband and I were ready to relax. However, when we stepped into our room, it was warm and muggy and we weren't sure why.
