Diamond Cottage Resort & Spa - Phuket

This Hotel is in a great spot with Karon and Kata beach both within walking distance. There are plenty of good places to dine nearby. The hotel staff are lovely and there is lots of choice at breakfast. An excellent place to stay.

Its 3 star hotel in some parts and maybe a 4 star in other areas. The back part of the hotel is more recent and has improved facilities. The breakfast is excellent, the in room menu is quite good and the food we had from it was very good.

Great holiday. No complaints. The complainers who stayed here should pay more and go stay in a 5 star hotel somewhere else! The pool was fantastic, clean and well maintained. ATROCIOUS SERVICE. Here are specific screw ups so you can decide for yourself. 1. Staff has terrible English. This combined with the general Thai resistance to saying they do not understand or the answer is no leads to long 15 min conversations for basic things like needing more tea and cream (had to call 4 times to get this). Rooms are often not cleaned […] to basic standards (hand marks on balcony sliding doors). Staff often tells you certain things are not possible that contracted companies or other staff then figure out when you ask a second/third time--taxi prices, timings for onward travel from Phuket Bus terminal. 2. Housekeeping is extremely slow and acts without the basic politeness we expect in the US and without the renowed Thai smile (showered like crazy in Bangkok at cheaper hotels). Instead you often see sour faces. No effort to provide consistent service on hospitality services provided once. 3. They nickel and dime you for everything--water, internet etc. If they can make you pay twice for anything they will try. 4. There is covert racism (towards anyone not white) and sexism regardless of where you are from. Ex. top to bottom checking out by staff (I am a woman). Not being told about certain hotel events since they assume you cannot afford it even if you have the most expensive room. 5. Older rooms are horrible--but often given for the same price. Would totally recommend this hotel. Position was great at end of Karon Beach, walking distance to some great restaurants, shops and markets. Much quieter than Patong Beach but this was perfect and only 15min in a "tuk tuk" when you felt like the hustle and bustle. Would totally recommend upgrading to Pool Access room, 2 steps straight off your own balcony […] into the pool, so great in the humid weather after a shopping session. Swim up to the pool bar and have a nice cocktail or beer! Buffet breakfast nice but not much variety. The hotel is located in a very busy and noisy area in Phuket. As soon as you exit, there are tonnes of taxi and tuk tuk drivers bothering you including the ones that work at the hotel...always asking "where u go?" Breakfast was just horrible. The breakfast trays were always empty. I sat for 50mins waiting for them to refill the 4 empty trays and nothing. […] Other hotel guests were frustrated too. Don't serve breakfast if you don't have food. There was bread and fruits but they were always surrounded by bees and other insects. If you are a breakfast person then find another place. It is NOT worthwhile. The private pool access is not worth your money either because they turn off the pool lights at 8pm which means we didn't get to go for a night swim. I recommend Alpina Hotel. We stayed 10 days at Diamond Cottage Resort & Spa during our easter holiday, and loved it there. The staff at Diamond Cottage were very friendly (although some of them were not very fluent in English) and the hotel is well kept and clean. The worse part is the staff at the reception. Extremely aggressive and unfriendly. Their English is very poor and their attitude unprofessional. Older rooms are moldy, newer ones near pool are noisy. Location is far from beach access and no transport is provided by the hotel. Hotel built on steep hill very uncomfortable to have to walk up to the room […] specially for families with kids. Internet is not free. For the cost of this hotel you can find much much better quality and friendly service for which Thai are renowned for. Hotelli on vilkkaan tien varrella, mutta heti kun rinteen kiipeää ylös, ei liikenteestä tai melusta ole tietoakaan. Hotelli on kaunis. Hotellin ns. vanhempi puoli (Spa wing) on todella viihtyisä ja uima-allas alue mielestäni paljon viihtyisämpi kuin ylärinteessä oleva uusi puoli. Uima-allas alue on kaunis. Henkilökuntaa on paljon ja palvelu ystävälllistä, […] joskin englanti ei kaikilta oikein suju ja asioita sai toistella monta kertaa. Kun itsekin puhuu ns. huonoa, simppeliä englantia, tulee paljon paremmin ymmärretyksi. Asioita pitää olla myös itse kovasti vaatimassa. Aamiainen oli runsas ja maittava, joskin se oli täysin sama joka aamu. Luulisi, että hedelmiäkin löytyisi muitakin kuin vesimelonia, ananasta ja papaijaa. Hotellin kadunpuoleinen ravintola on oikein hyvä. Suosittelen hotellin Spa:ta! Huone (Superior spa wing) on tilava ja viihtyisä. Huonoja puolia olivat pieni parveke (alakerrassa) ja ihana sadevesisuihku on epäkäytännöllinen pienen lapsen kanssa. Siivous olisi saanut olla huolellisempaa. Huoneessa ei ole kylpytakkeja, vaikka niin Hotels.comin sivuilla sanotaan! Ja kylpytossut ovat käytettyjä flipflopeja! Kylpytakit löytyvät vain Delux huoneista. Hotelli ja huone ovat toisissa asioissa 3 tähden arvoisia, toisissa 4 eli tuo 3 ja puoli tähteä lienee todellinen. Kaiken kaikkiaan hyvä maku jäi hotellista! Voisin mennä uudestaan ja ihan sama huone kelpaisi hyvin. Huoneita on uudistettu eli jotkin vanhemmat haukkuvat kommentit täällä ovat varmaankin vanhentuneita. Pročitajte više

Helt ok hotell för den som inte häckar på hotellets område. Riktigt god frukost! Nära till både strand och gatuliv. Det finns två separerade poolområden. Det övre området var väldigt lugnt men saknade personal i poolbaren. Kvällsskugga vid poolen.

Et ok sted men man skal sørge for at være tættere til byen ellers er det dyrt at tage taxa eller tuktuk frem og tilbage. Fed strand der er i nærheden. Fed bølger så tæt til vand kanten. Det elsket mine børn.

Hotellet Diamond Cottage er hotellet hvor du får mere end du betaler for. Hotellet er godt, men beliggenheden trækker ned. Den ligger mellem to strande hvilket er ganske fint, men om aftenen er udvalget af restauranter og natteliv begrænset sammenlignet med hoteller i samme prislag. This hotel is as touristed as they get, granted most of Phuket is that way, but this hotel was the extremety of our trip. The room and bathroom are clean and spacious, the pools are also good. Breakfast was good and a good selection as well. The room did, however, have a weird moldy smell to it and the doublebed was just two beds pushed together. However, […] from the minute we arrived everything was about getting us to buy stuff. In the words of the staffmember who greeted us: money-money-money! Whenever we walked out from the hotel, they wanted to know where we were going and perhaps if we would rent a cab or something of the kind. When we asked where we could buy some snorkling gear, they told us that they didn't know any place close by, but that we could buy a trip to a mall far away. Turns out the snorkling gear was sold in the neighbouring shop, and of course also many other places in town. -Les serviettes fournies sont "érodés", déchirés et gris tellement ils ont vécus. TOUTES. -L'accès internet : systeme de forfait de 2h ou 4h à acheter à la reception, qui est assez loin de la plupart des chambres, donc gare à vous si vous dépassez le delai car c'est assez pénible de descendre puis remonter la cote assez raide à une heure du matin pendant […] 50 metres... pour un nouveau bout de papier avec le nouveau code !! Et je trouve que le prix est relativement élevé. -Nous avions une chambre avec une terrasse qui donne sur la piscine: c'est extremement agréable de pouvoir se baigner directement... Donc je vous recommande la chambre "deluxe" pour qq euros de plus par jour, ça vaut le coup! -La salle de bain tres minuscule et pas pratique. -La reception ne reflete pas du tout la Thailande et les Thailandais, le sourire n'est pas leur politique, contrairement au personnel du restaurant, tres gentil et serviable. -Par contre je m'attendais à ce que la plage soit plus pres, il faut marcher un peu (5min). -Le laundry: Les vetements sentent TRES fort la lessive, à faire qu'en cas de dépannage. -Petit dejeuner tres correct, la nourriture est excellente (aussi bien la nourriture thai que les hamburgers en cas de creux dans la journée).
