I booked Hotel Mastino for a friend and I after a nearby hotel where the rest of our party was staying was already booked. This hotel is in a great location, just a few minute walk from the colliseum and several restaurants and shops. There is a grocery store right around the corner, which came in handy. is in an ideal position. When we arrived we were a bit disappointed that the lift wasn't working as we had to carry luggage to the second floor. Once there, whether you climb the stairs or take the lift you still have to climb around 6 pretty steep steps to the room. The wardrobe, fitted into the wall couldn't open properly because the safe inside doesnt close well. HOWEVER, the mattress was extremely good and we had a very good night. "good location"
This was a somewhat older hotel but with newer modifications taken place recently. the breakfast was great, right down the hall from our room so we could smell the vanilla and croissants in the evening and morning. the room was quaint in size with mini fridge stocked with non alcholic drinks. mcdonals was right next door so one night we were so tired […] from walking all day we just bundled up and walked over to get a hamburger for dinner. the location is near the collisium and 20 min walk to the trainstation, no issues with noise. the city was beautiful. the only complaint is that our mattress was getting old and was very lumpy or firm in awkward way to where you couldn't lay in the middle or you would roll to one of the sides, and the shower was a corner shower and very small. The hotel overall was pretty nice. The location was great because we could walk right to the city walls and to the arena. You could tell, thought, that the hotel was located in a city because everything was cramped. it's like they tried to put as many rooms in one building as possible. We were given a room with two beds and they wanted us to push the […] beds together. We were then switched to another room with one bed but really it was still two bed just with bigger sheets. We paid for access to the spa and did not realize it was around the corner. that was a little frustrating but the experience there made up for the short walk. the spa was AMAZING! if you have the chance to purchase a spa room-DO IT! you sure won't regret it. The front desk was very helpful with information about the city and the spa. besides the smaller room and the noise of the city the only other negative was the fact that you had to pay for internet. we got over that quick though and enjoyed our 'unplugged' vacation. "Hotel Mastino - not a very good hotel."
Fair enough I DID buy an economy room. However it was a shocking night. We constantly heard people walking around the hallways and in their rooms, the room was NOT clean, the shower is so small I don't possible know how a human could use it, the bed was a joke, it had dips in it from so much use. The concierge at reception knew 2 words of English - […] hello and goodbye, although he was replaced in the morning by a more competent lady. The Hotel Mastino is in a great location, close to the main plaza, the arena and shopping in Verona. The hotel employee's spoke pretty good English and were very helpful, especially Salvo. "You check in at Mastino, but you stay at another h"
New room with good bed but not much space. You hear the other guest from upstairs and from then neighbouring room. Acceptable breakfast buffet.
The hotel is very conveniently situated, the room was satisfactory as was the bathroom. The service was good. I would recommend the hotel as good value for money.

I would not recommend this to hotel to anyone. My party arrived on a rainy night excited about the location of the hotel to Piazza Bra. We checked in and then found out that our room was not in the hotel. We had to wait 15 minutes for the "porter" to take us to our room located in another part of the city. We had no address, no idea where we where, […] and it was a 20 minute ride before we arrived. To get breakfast, you either call for the porter or walk to the hotel. Terrible. L'albergo e' vicinissimo a Piazza Bra, dove si trova l'Arena. Piazza delle Erbe puo' essere raggiunta in circa 10 minuti a piedi. L'albergo si trova nella parte alta di Corso Porta Nuova, quasi "sotto l'orologio". We had gone for a concert in the Arena, and the hotel was only minutes away from there. Easy to get to from the airport by bus to the train station, then a short walk. The weather was magnificent, which makes a difference. The staff we met were friendly and helpful, and our room was very nice, although we were across the street in the annex. Although sceptical about this hotel having read a number of negative reviews it turned out to be an excellent find. Senza essere preventivamente avvisati al momento della prenotazione.... siamo stati destinati in una camera in una succursale dell'albergo situata al lato opposto della trafficatissima strada con passaggio pedonale distante. Di conseguenza abbiamo avuto difficoltà per la colazione ( che è stata servita nella sede centrale) ed abbiamo dovuto fare a meno […] di usufruire degli altri servizi offerti dalla struttura, come i servizi termali. Es un hotel con una situación inmejorable, cerca del centro histórico de Verona, a un paso del Arena, hay muy buen ambiente alrededor, el hotel es viejo y está un poco desfasado, pero está limpio, la habitación no es muy grande. La atención del personal del hotel es la adecuada sin grandes atenciones, pero correcta. Lo recomiendo por la situación.

Расположение прикрасное не далеко от Арены в старом городе. Мне не понравилось, что в номере было очень много муравьев и сотрудники службы регистрации не приветливые. У отеля нет своей парковки и в прилегающем здании находиться ресторан бастрого питания. Внимание тем, кто будет останавливаться в отеле время выезда 9-00, а не привычные 12-00!

Die Corso Porta Nuova 16 liegt nahe beim zentralen Piazza Brà mit dem Amphitheater. An jener grossen Strasse ist es nicht ruhig, doch wir wurden gleich mit einem Elektromobil 100m weiter in die Dependance in der ruhige Nebengasse gebracht. Im Keller jenes Gebäudes befindet sich eine Wellness-Zone, darüber gänzlich neue Zimmer, in weiss gehalten, alles […] sehr sauber, mit Lift. Гостиница очень понравилась. Небольшой, уютный номер. Отличное месторасположение: 1 мин. до Арены, рядом с остановкой автобуса, от которой можно за 10 мин. доехать до железнодорожного вокзала. Завтрак: есть горячее, большой выбор выпечки.

"Breakfast of high standard, front desk service low"
Compared to other Italian hotels, they have a general high standard for the breakfast. Unfortunately, their front desk service didn't impress in any way. As a guest, one could feel more or less as a inconvenience for the staff. But if you're just looking for a central-placed bedroom - this is your place...
