3 mins walk to metro, nice staff, average room (to be expected with price I suppose), only BBC News in English on TV, lack of kitchen utensils (1 pen knife & 2 spoons ONLY!!), shower wouldn't hook into shower head bit so had to hold!! Overall good value for money but would've preferred better room.

We stayed in a 4 person room for 3 nights and a 2 person room for a further 2 nights.The 4 person room was very tight and not ideal with the bathroom only being accessible from the bedroom. The hotel is in a good location for metro links to all the major city sights (10-15 mins travel maximum) and not too far from the Arc de Triumphe. The rooms were […] cramped but tollerable. Rooms were cleaned to a good standard and towels were changed daily. All rooms have basic kitchenettes and fridges which allows you to avoid pricy cafe's and restaurants if you so desire. There is a supermarket within 2 minutes walk and a number of cafes and shops. The main downside was that the hotel and rooms were lacking some basic maintenance (i.e cracked tiles, broken shower door, damaged work tops). There was also a shortage of cutlery and crockery but the hotel were more than helpful when we asked for extra. In summary if you are looking for somewhere cheap in an ideal location then this hotel is for you. However don't expect to be staying in classy accomodation, you get what you pay for. We're newly weds on a budget, and new to international travel, spent 7 nights in Paris, we were there to get to know the city and not the hotel so it was cheap and gave us what we needed, a place to sleep. Cheese, bread, yogurt, cereal, coffee, fruit, ham, milk, orange juice, grapefruit juice was available. For a 3 star hotel, I was surprised we didn't have free internet in the room,only paid but free internet in the reception office, which was an inconvenience, but hey its still free, so we were still able to make calls back home. The staff was multi-lingual, very kind and very willing to help - especially Sean, if you see him, tell him Fernando and Diana from Arizona say hi. The location is GREAT! I know from google maps its looks "ghetto", but its not, we felt safe, its well lit streets to it too, and just around the corner on your way to the nearest metro "Villiers" is a strip of general markets, grocery stores, shops, pharmacies, chinese food, fruit stands, sit down restaurants all within a 2 minute walk! what a great spot! also, the prices are normal, not tourist priced. quick tips: our room didn't come with an iron, we had to ask for one from staff then return it when done. The service at this hotel was impeccable (compliments to Joel). However this place hasn't seen any maintenance in a LONG time. We had booked a family room (four beds), but two of our party had dropped out before Paris. The family room we were shown to was, in my opinion, uninhabitable. But worst of all the dual smell of mould and ammonia was overpowering. It was disgusting & I've stayed in better 1 star caravan parks. The top 2" of the shower alcove were black with mould. We were offered a double room instead which was passable but by no means impressive - same furnishings but curtains hanging on at 5 points. (We were told that 'apartments' are not rated by the same star system as rooms.) The double had a distant view of the Eiffel Tower which was gorgeous at night. The bathroom also had serious lack of ventilation problems but not as severe as the family room - wooden vanity was literally disintegrating on the spot. I booked a double room at this hotel to take my girlfriend away for her birthday. The first incident was minor and we weren't short of time at that point: when we tried to check out she was on the phone to whom I can only imagine was a friend, given her colloquial conversation; we stood and waited, but she continued chatting for a good 10 minutes. The other incident was a bigger problem, but we didn't complain because we were very short of time: at midday I asked the receptionist to order us a taxi to Gare du Nord for 12:45pm, we then went out for breakfast and returned at 12:40pm. I then asked her if it was ok for us to wait in the courtyard until the taxi arrived, to which she replied, "I'll call them now." We were starting to worry a bit that we might miss our Eurostar check-in but we waited in the courtyard until 1:00pm at which point I went back to reception and saw a taxi outside. This hotel is old Paris. It's what I expected and I was completely satisfied with the sleeping arrangements. The shower was extremely small but I adjusted. I was in Paris the way the local folk lived. One block from the hotel was a fun street to sit and have a breakfast or lunch. A fine hotel for the money. I'd stay there again anytime.

Our apartment was not what we asked for and nothing else was available, which was not a good start. The best thing about the hotel was its location, away from the tourist traps and inflated prices of central Paris yet still very handy for sightseeing in the city centre. The room had some good points - cleaned every day, plenty of hot water, a proper shower (not a hand-held one) permanent (not fold-up) beds which were fine and comfortable. The staff were helpful in showing me how to use the free wi-fi in the hotel lobby on my laptop. There were many areas where the room needed improvement. There were three of us (2 adults and a child) in a family apartment supposedly for 4. 4 people would not have been comfortable in such a small room. There was barely enough room for the 3 of us to sit down together to eat and the bathroom was tiny. There are no laundry facilities at the hotel. The kitchenette was barely adequate for self-catering and there was not enough table space. There was a basic set of crockery for each person but not enough cooking equipment and no kettle. The temperature knob in the fridge was broken and the fridge was not cold enough to chill a bottle of wine. The turntable in the microwave did not work. A beaucoup (et mal) vieilli. Moquettes usées, plomberie défectueuse, stratifié de salle de bain arraché, ampoule de lampe de chevet grillée, signalée mais jamais remplacée en 5 jours, cabine de douche ridicule, difficile d'accès et dangereuse, lits jumeaux anormalement petits (180 x 70 cm). Bref ! A oublier définitivement.
