Went to see the Rangers whip the Astros, just a 20 min. stroll from the ballpark. Looking forward to same trip again. Great bargain!

Overall a great experience. Clean room/hallways/lobby, friendly staff. The only thing: at the check-in (at 10pm, after a 10-hour drive!), the lady at the desk welcomed us with "Hm... we don't get very many tourists in this part of town... Bad news for you: there is nothing to see downtown!" it was like: oh, what losers... bad choice of a hotel! She […] went on with it for a few minutes... My spouse got so upset it took me an hour to explain to her that there ARE things to see downtown:) and we have done our research prior, we KNEW that Galveston is 1 hour away, and NASA is a 40-min drive, and we did not mind driving, but still, this "welcome" hit us pretty bad. Kinda depressing! The lady needs to read some marketing and hospitality literature... not everyone sees a perfect getaway as a crowded beach. And some people DO consider a museum an attraction:) Hotel lobby has no sight-seeing brochures, by the way... NONE.. pretty strange. It was a nice hotel, the valets worked hard but I still had to wait 20 minutes to get our car..We had no coffie as complimentary in the mornings. My Daughter also got stuck in the elevator the buttons would not work to select a floor.

Hotel was fine but valet service was very slow. Good if you can get a low rate but if you park a car don't expect to go anywhere fast.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean which is our number 1 priority. It was very close to the Pavillion, walking distance. We had a great time.

Only had a one night stay on new years eve. The staff was very friendly and polite. The valet was quite slow due to the amout of people their and traffic.

Very nice and clean hotel. Renovated historic building. Was there on new years eve and hotel was extremely busy but rooms were very quiet. Great location to house of blues. I booked a double queen room, even though I checked in on time and booked weeks ahead of time, they said they didn't have the room I booked and they gave me a one bed room with a tiny couch. It was extremely inconvenient for those of us staying in the hotel. Definitely wish I had gone elsewhere.

Stayed here to visit houston. Good location right in downtown. Room was nice and the pool was awesome! Walking distance to some fun places. We walked over to Pete's dueling piano bar and had a blast!

It was all good until I had to wait 40 min to get my car from valet parking .At 1:00 AM someone from the hotel staff knocked my door asking me for my car keys . Then little after that someone else is calling my extension for the same reason . Be aware you'll be ripped off , they'll charge more than advertised for valet parking . It was fine. Most of the staff was really courteous. However, we got back one night LATE (like 4am) and the valet wasn't there to park the car. I parked in one of the 3 spots available outside the hotel and went up to sleep. Well, the next morning at 7am (mind you, I just went to sleep 2 1/2 hours earlier!) the front desk calls me to get my car keys. […] Furthermore, they want me to BRING them to the front desk! It's a Sunday morning people! Even if I had gotten to sleep at a decent hour - DO NOT call me at some un-Godly hour on a Sunday morning expecting me to jump and do something! The next day, the valet was giving me grief about leaving the car without turning in the keys. I told them they weren't there and this guy didn't believe me. 5 of us saw them NOT there. We checked in the hotel and found the location was great and everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. It is beautifully decorated and clean. The staff was ultra friendly and helpful. Room was everything we expected.

We wanted a getaway in the heart of downtown with a pool. We were pleasantly surprised about the high quality and maintenance of the hotel. Rooms are small but adequate. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. Our only complaint was the valet. The only option is valet and when we were coming back to our room on a Saturday at 5pm, we waited almost 15 minutes in line and for the valet. Worked with us when changing our reservations and even found us a cheaper rate. Valet parking or self parking in excess of 20.00 a day. When you need your car or something from it, there's always a tip to plan on. A small frig would have made it near perfect. Starbucks right next door. Be aware of one way streets. Metro train around the block.
