My wife and I recently spent a week at Breezes Negril. We are not accustomed to upscale accommodations, but we have travelled and visited numerous other all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. The resort is fairly large, and offers entertainment, fitness center, water sports, etc. I was most impressed with the rooms. They are rather large, and offer great views of the bay. The resort also offers snorkeling, kayaks, catamarans, and other water activities for free. Ask Conrad for a ride to the small island and get some fresh lobster. The Breezes Grand property and people still hold the tradition and mindest of the Grand Lido legacy. The property itself is showing some age which some would term "charm", but the management and staff work hard to truely make you feel that this is "Home away from home". This was the sixth vacation we have taken at this property and again we enjoyed […] not only the people, but the wide range of fine foods, the beaches, the bars, and the hot tubs! The weather was a bit windy on some days, but that did not keep us from smiles, only from enjoying the clear snorkeling waters a few days. Admittedly, the property could use some updates to the physical parts, but the people and the personalized way of making you feel welcome, showing they are happy to see you and they do all they can to make your stay memorable make for a wonderful vacation. This extends all the way from general manager to chefs to servers to bartenders to spa to grounds keepers to housekeeping to entertinment staff to watersports to everyone. Last year we vacationed for three weeks in Australia (Sydney, Cairnes, and the Great Barrier Reef areas) rather than at the Breezes Grand. It was clear to us that although going around the world and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef was a bucket list type adventure, the snorkeling around Negril is more enjoyable and as well the hospitality even better. Just back from 5 days at BGN and had a great time. Room was great, the food was good and the beach and weather perfect.!!! Our favorite bartender Partrica recognized us from 50 ft away !!! Enjoyed going to the main beach every morning and the CO beach every afternoon!! Enjoyed Ike at the piano bar !!! Liked the gals from Arkansas!!! BGN needs to explain […] it policy about CO guests only at the CO grill. Every one that comes to BGN wants some of the famous lamb chops at the CO grill. However a lot of the CO guest complain about clothed people showing up. Hey, its supposed to be CO !!! And really, way to too much stuff being smoked in public!!! I know the security folks were really worried that a supervisor might show up, I don't now if the clothed guests were laughing at all of the nude folks or laughing at "that smell"!! If these people want to go to their rooms thats fine, but not out in the open. Security asked them more than once to stop. Never understood the complains about the rooms. The rooms were fine. If you ever stay in a Comfort Inn type hotel, its veyr similar. The room was cleaned very well EVERY day and we never ran out of towels. Only negative is that there were a LOT more beach vendors than in the past !! MUCH MORE. . The wifi was free and it worked very well!!! was best out on your patio, but was good in your room also. We stayed at the Breezes Negril for 1 week and the hot water did not work for 3 out of the first 4 days. The overall condition of the hotel left a lot to be desired. The shower was impressive and had 8 shower heads but the water pressure was too low and we could only use at a time.

I have never been to Jamaica before so I cannot compare to other resorts there but I feel this was a 3 star out of 5. They say not to tip but if you want good service you will need too, and they will accept tips. The staff and food was really good. The room was not quite what I had hoped for. Bathroom was a little weird in terms of the layout, hot water was not always available, the phone didn't work, nor did the jacuzzi. Very nice resort for couples. We were there for our 25th anniversary and only stayed for a long weekend. You need to stay at least a week to be able to enjoy all the activities and food/restaurants availiable for your use. Beach was very nice and relaxing. Drinks always available !

We did aa lot of research and decided for the Breezes in Negril. We were not disappointed. The Resort is in great condition, the food is good, not world class, and the service is outstanding. No room service?! REALLY?! We were 1 step below most expensive. I don't think that we will be going back there. Most of the staff was not very excited about their jobs. Not all, but most, of them did not go out of their way to make us seem very welcome. When they took us to our room they did not show us around or give us a map of the resort. Most of the other staff seemed like we were bothering them that we were there. Theron, on the CO side, was definitely the nicest one that we encountered. He always seemed like he was happy to be there and that it was his pleasure to take care of the guests. All the other staff just went through the motions. Not what I was expecting. The resort was in need of some upkeep. There were weeds in the gardens and bushes needed to be trimmed. Our room needed to maintenance as well. Base trim in the bathroom was falling apart, bathroom fixtures were rickety, and a there was a coverplate needed for an outlet. Other than that the beach was amazing. The CO side was small and had some seaweed and rocks but it was nice. The other size was large and clear of any seaweed and no rocks. It was incredible. the wait, bar and cleaning staffs were superb. the one lady at the concierge desk was very unfriendly and rude as well as the front desk personnel could use some courses in customer service. we had trouble with our room, for two consecutive days we as well as the cleaning staff were locked out of our room and although it was resolved the maintenance […] crew do things at their own pace.(never in a rush.). we also had our air conditioning go out, and the only reason it was fixed the same evening is because I had a face to face with an onsite manager, who by the way was exceptional in the handling of our problem. She stayed on top of the maintenance crew until the problem was resolved. ( Thank you Sophie!!). Even with the few bumps with our room, the resort was well worth it and we had a great time. I was very pleased with everything. I would recomend bringing your own mug if you want to drink alot of beer. They give you tiny cups and it can take a while to get a drink at the bar sometimes. I would recomend getting a room with an ocean view. It was worth the extra cost.

Only stayed for 5 days, not enough time to fully enjoy this resort. Beach was beautiful, food was great, activities were exciting. Never stepped one foot off of the resort. The beach bar kept a cold drink in my hands at all times. Only had two problems. First was the a/c broke on our forth day. Called the desk, they told me they would send someone to […] fix it. Get chairs close to the beach bar, eat at the Japanese restaurant, also have the Lamb at the main restaurant. Drinks at the main bar then go to the painless bar for more drinks. I love this resort, my wife and I just came back from another great vacation that we spent there and we can't wait to go back. We love to snorkel, ten, kayak, sail and just float. Great location. It is naturally beautiful and the resort grooms the landscape to perfection. We like the classic style of the buildings. The beach is gorgeous. The staff is very warm and friendly. We chequed in on Thursday Morning. Friday there was not hot water , Saturday No hot water, Sunday no hot water and when we chequed out on Monday morning STILL NO HOT WATER !!!! We have commented many times how we don't put on weight when we are there and how good we feel. This is due to the good healthy food served every day, your choice. They have some very decadent desserts also. Any alcohol drink you may want is for the asking. The only decent wine we had was when we dined at the French restaurant though but we more than drank our fill of almost every kind of alcohol that we could want. rum punch is the way to go though. Daily walks on the beach were great and the island vendors did not hassel us very much. There is a resident guy on a ski-doo that promises anything you want mon! The staff was very pleasant to be around, we made sure we brought plenty of $1.00 bills to tip the staff with. You aren't supposed to but they do take good care of you.
