Our room was small and not that comfortable, but all our time was spent at the beach, pool, bar, or club anyway, so this was no problem at all. The service was fine. Some people complained it was a little slow, but if you know Spanish, make friends with the bar tenders and they'll serve you quickly. My friend lost his the last night, so we didn't even need a replacement, but they still charged us $100 since we didn't turn it in at checkout. Also, beware of the "casino/club scam". They tell you the club at the casino is open every night, then you go there and it's closed. To get a free cab ride home, you have to play at the casino. Then they tell you the club will open the next night (literally asked at least 3-5 casino employees each night), but it never is. Annoying. The clubs at the resort are nice though. Our hotel was great. Great staff, fantastic food at the Casablanca Buffet. The only downside was that the beach isn't private so you get bothered by people trying to sell you excursions or products. The service was beyond amazing! Food was great, people were friendly, and the activities were terrific! The shows were spectacular every night, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw "The Stars" on Broadway.

This was a great bargin. My 2 biggest disappointments were the entertainment and there was no room service. You couldn't even take food to your room.....total disappointment. Upon arrival we were told that we could not check in until 3pm. We arrived at 12 noon. Guest were checking out. The check in was long and I didn't realize it was necessary to print out the voucher. The resort itself has nice grounds. The beach is ok, the water was extremely rough while there and all of the beach chairs were up, away from the water. There wasn't a large variety of food, but the food that was there was wonderful. Life Styles Tropical Resort is more geared towards the serenity and tranquilty of a relaxing inviroment. I feel that there is no cultural feeling there of the isalnd. However its a great place to visit the food is good and the staff are very frinedly and assist there guest any way they can.

the hotel was ok the service made up for it a bit. we lost power & water for an entire day which was upsetting but what was more upsetting that if you were a memeber of this resort your areas had power & water. the grounds were extremely dark & the hotel had very little provisions to handle a situation like this. The accomodations were exactly as described. The staff was personable, dedicated & super friendly. We were extremely appreciative of how all requests were met with timeliness and ease. Facility is great. Although a bit lacking in entertainment. The show only lasts 1 hr and is boring at times. I took this vacation in orer to relax after spending 8 months in Afghanistan. The hotel itself was ok; but on weekends, hundreds of locals book rooms. They were extremely noisy, partying, laughing, playing music at the pool until dawn, or gathering at the balconies of the rooms and talking loudly. The hotel staff would not take any action against them. […] I guess the resort earns more money from them, rather than from foreign tourists. The resort grounds feature time-shares and unless you are a VIP member (meaning - you own a time-share), you are treated like a second-class citizen. Salesmen chase you at every step outside your room trying to push you a time-share, you can't get rid of them at all. They wait for hotel guests at the buffet restaurant, and one can't even enjoy a meal at peace, either because the neighboring table has a noisy loud company of locals, or because the salesmen stay beside you. It is impossible to make a reservation at the other restaurants. The VIP members (time-share owners) have priority, and if a seat remains unbooked, then and only then a hotel guest may be able to book it. For 12 days straight we went to the Concierge desk at 09:00 AM when the restaurant bookings began, only to be told that all tables were already booked??? The buffet's food was good, no complaints there, and they feature a different theme/cuisine at different days of the week. First of all the food was not to the quality of the hotel. I grew up in the Domincan Republic until I was 15 years of age and I can tell you that home made food would actually be a higher quality than the buffet. The hotel is very nice and clean and comfy. Theres a drink waiting for you as soon as you check in. The rooms were very nice and there was a ceiling fan and a/c which is good for some people who don't need to be frozen inside their room. Well maintained grounds, although they could use more lights at night because walking around can be difficult. There's a VERY STRONG distinction between VIP and regular guests. Enligt hotellets all inclusive-information finns fyra restauranger att välja mellan. I verkligheten vill hotellet att man blir VIP-medlem för dyra pengar för att kunna ta del av dessa fasciliteter, som att äta på någon av a la carte-restaurangerna. Det finns i praktiken således bara en bufférestaurang för icke-VIP-medlemmar som serverar frukost, lunch […] och middag och med en meny som är väldigt enahanda. För att boka bord på en kvällsrestaurang (alltså a la carte om man är VIP) måste man köa dagen innan exakt klockan 13 i hotellets reception. Det saboterar den dagens eventuella aktiviteter. Dessutom är front desk-personalen till restaurangkön otroligt ohjälpsamma och väldigt otrevliga. Vi hörde varje dag (när vi orkade stå i matkön) många negativa kommentarer från andra köanden över detta ineffektiva lapp-system. Anledning till att vi fick köa trots allt var att vi tog ett "ordentligt" samtal med hotellets manager och påpekade att vi köpt en all inclusive-resa med fyra restauranger och att då fanns ingen upplysning om att man måste vara VIP för att äta på dessa. Undantag gjordes således för oss. Så ett samtal med managern är att rekommendera om ni väljer att resa dit. Själva väljer vi inte att åka tillbaka. Die Hotelanlage ist sehr groß, man benötigt einen Shuttle Transfer um von verschiedenen Nebengebäuden ( Villen, Presidential Suites, Penthouse) zum Hauptgebäude, wo sich das Buffetrestaurant befindet, und zum Strand zu kommen. Zimmer sind alles sehr modern eingerichtet und sind auch sauber. Wo hin und wieder nicht genau gereinigt wurde reicht ein freundlicher […] Hinweis. Der Strand ist leider klein und nicht sehr schön, kein Vergleich zu Punta Cana. Die Pools sind alles sauber. Es gibt viele Restaurants, allerdings die meisten nur von VIPs zu reservieren. Und hier liegt der Knackpunkt, es wird aufdringlich versucht eine sehr teure VIP Mitgliedschaft zu verkaufen, und zwar gleich am ersten Tag und wenn man nicht in die Falle tappt, dann wird man noch bis in Ocean World verfolgt. Aber wenn man standhaft bleibt und deutlich "kein Interesse" sagt, dann kapieren die das irgendwann. Das Buffetrestaurant war insgesamt ok, aber es gibt deutlich bessere Angebote in der DomRep mit wesentlich mehr Auswahl. Fazit: wer einen schönen Strandurlaub verbringen möchte ist in Punta Cana besser aufgehoben. Wer den Norden besichtigen möchte und ein Hotel als "Stützpunklt" sucht kann das Hotel besuchen.
