We stayed at Couples Swept Away. Ours was a quick getaway of four nights, and we will return for a longer stay. We reserved an atrium room located in the center of the resort just steps away from beautiful 7 mile beach. Enjoyed the Island feel of the room along with the privacy. Much beachfront foot traffic and nice to have a room around the corner […] from and not directly on the beachfront.The garden view suites were closest to the busy main road. Food was good and service was excellent There were two restaurants that required reservations. Best to make your reservations at arrival. Again good food, great service. Overall great all inclusive. Love that airport transfers are included. (tip the driver and baggage handler.). Due to short stay, did not participate in any offsite land excursions. Enjoyed watersports, glassbottom boat, and catamaran. You really can do as much or as little as you like. Mostly, we relaxed on the beautiful beach. Very good security presence in all areas of the resort. If this is your first time at this resort, best not to miss orientation on your first day. (Offered twice a day 10a or 5p). Negatives: This is a very rustic hotel with few creature comforts. We had a beachfront room that was rather costly, and we were very disappointed by the room. It was not at all luxurious. I stayed in Couples Negril last year. Swept Away stays next to a very busy road where motorcycles show off day and night. If you will get drunk as a fish and you can there, may be this won't be an issue, but otherwise be aware. Staff is perfect, as the restaurants, but in time the food become too monotonous, so you eat without delight. They do change […] the menu, and try the best, they have all kinds - vegetarian included, but I think that if there were more (local) spices than it would be much better. Rooms are clean (I stayed in two moving away from the road), activities and entertainments are fine, beach is clean and safe (it is never an issue in Couples), the garden is perfect. In my opinion it's the best on that 7miles beach as they are seen walking (and I was), so if you are looking for sun and sea and liquors and activities but not relaxation - you will find all there. Bottom line - it's overrated and it looks like they (management) are spoiled by this. I will visit them again anyway - they're up to my expectations, but I hardly recommend the place to my friends. Great beach & water with plenty of palm trees for shade. Wonderful and varied food selections and decent wine. Super sports complex with up-to date weight equipment, yoga & pilates instructors, tennis courts. Plenty of water sports. Clean, comfortable room/bed. Older crowd than expected. The staff is very friendly and cater to the needs and wants of each couple. The beach is fantastic as well as safe. The food at the grill and restaruants was very good. Keep in mind that the Jamaican way is a bit slower than the way you may be used to. Things develop and take time, but usually it is worth the wait. Wonderful hotel for relaxation, great beach, great food and great service. If you are looking for a lot of nightly entertainment you should probably go elsewhere. Wonderful 4 night, 5 day trip. Staff was attentive, but not overly in your face or doting. This was our 1st all-inclusive experience (we are the backpacking adventure types) so we were worried that it would be too cheesy. Not at all. After reading both positive and negative reviews on the web, I thought oh well, my first all inclusive trip to the carribean will be my last....was I proven wrong! I stayed in the gardenview veranda suite and can't say anything bad about the room. We were facing the inside instead of the main road so the traffic noise was obsolete (but jeez...those […] birds were singing all night). The refrigerator was stocked daily with what we checked off and my wife and I thought the patio was so relaxing. The food was delish as long as you jump around the different restaurants. There is always something to feed your hunger 24 hours a day. Sean the bartender was very good mixing the beverages. Now for the activities...it seemed some workers didnt care to be there and it showed by their expressions but Wilton and a few others at the water sports shed was the best. Thanks for having the Hobie Cat there for me every time I wanted to take one out. The nightly entertainment was very enjoying from blazing piano to the bonfire on the beach and the various groups that performed in the Palm. All in all, very relaxing and met all expectations. Thanks couples for making my vacation a very memorable one and you can bet its definitely not the last time I'm in your resort. Oh, and for the vendors on the beach, with a little respect and a no thank you, they don't bother you at all (actually, I found them quite entertaining as I had many conversations with them. This is a great hotel, with great staff in a great location. there are plenty of activities that are included in the all inclusive e.g. scuba, snorkelling and boat cruises etc. Well worth the money, the staff exude Jamaican life and make the experience very enjoyable. This was our first time staying in Jamaica without the kids so we picked Couples Swept Away--and it was a great choice. EVERYONE we came into contact with at the hotel--from maids to waiters to beach activity people were all extremely friendly, helpful, and they seemed genuinely happy. The room was a garden view and it felt as though we were in the jungle--and we heard no noise from any of our neighbors. (The ocean view rooms are blocked by palm trees). The room had a tile floor, very comfy bed with 6 big pillows and a big bathroom. The tv was great and had alot of channels. There was an outdoor porch with comfy furntiture which was also very private with walls on either side. Free activities we tried were snorkeling-so fun-and the sunset cruise to Ricks which included a stop at some caves which we were allowed to swim thru--a blast!! They had pirates dinner on the beach and a bonfire with entertainment which were awesome. We also walked the 7 mile beach every day--and yes, the Jamaicans do approach you and try to sell all sorts of things to you-but all you have to do is politely decline and keep walking and there were NO WORRIES!!! PLUS--the weather was 80's every day with no rain and 70's at night! Plus--no kids in the hot tubs!!! The fitness center was huge! It went by way too fast. We HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!!! We traveled with 4 other couples for a tennis vacation and the resort is perfect for this. The tennis pros are excellent and you receive a 30min private lesson as part of the room package each day plus morning clinics and evening round robins. If you like […] big lounging pools, this is not the place for you, but there is a 25m lane pool across the road with the 9 tennis courts, massage rooms, open-air lounge, and gym. There are 2 smaller pools beachside, but why bother when the warm ocean is right there? The meals are good but not great; don't skip the jerk chicken or grilled fish at the poolside grills; at the reservation restaurants there is a decent wine list that would satisfy most amateur oenophiles. Amazing vacation!! Beautiful resort and very friendly staff. The food was great and there are several restaurants that continually change the menu so you don't get bored of the food. The rooms are a little out dated but you don't spend much time in them any ways. The only other down side was the locals trying to sell you souveniers and "ganga" on the […] beach. The security is more or less to keep the hagglers from bothering you too much, and is relevantly nice to have if you're taking walks along the beach after nightfall. Great All Inclusive place. Rooms were large and clean. Only complaint was the staff would forget to restock some room items like towels or coffee. But a call to the front desk fixed the issue promptly. We do plan on returning.

This was a great hotel. It had more of a "Caribbean" feel than some of the more modern all-inclusives we've stayed at, but the service and beach more than made up for the age. Terrific location on Seven Mile Beach. We were surprised at how peaceful this area is, but we did travel off season (got home yesterday, Sept. 7) since we prefer to avoid crowds. Food and drinks were better than expected -- we recommend making reservations for a few dinners at Lemon Grass and skipping Feathers altogether (reservations not required for […] all other restaurants). The resort provided many water sports and activities at no charge, and the sports complex was a big bonus for us with tennis courts (including clay courts) and gym among other amenities. We ventured immediately south of the resort along the beach for outdoor couples massage at Footprints Hotel (Margaret's fantastic), a fraction of the cost of the resort's massage services, however we did get manicures and my husband a hot shave at the resort spa. We didn't take any day trips to waterfalls and the like since we enjoyed relaxing at the resort and exploring along the beach. Use common sense but don't be afraid to look around -- we loved meeting locals besides resort staff and consider it a big plus that the resort is adjacent to an area with more local character. Couples Swept Away - One of our best experiences together! Will be the only place we stay in Jamaica. The staff are super friendly and professional, the food is great at ALL hours of the day, and the activities are plentiful. The only thing that I can say bad about this place, is that sometimes the soda out of the bar tap is flat, which makes your drinks […] super sweet and not up to par. BUT if the soda is flat, just switch over to a frozen drink, because those are GREAT!!! All of them! Tips are not accepted, EXCEPT for as soon as you land in Jamacia, the people that take you to the resort and the people that handle your baggage are NOT apart of couples swept away. they will require a tip for handling your bags and for driving you 1 1/2 hours from the airport. Also, for the smokers out there...Buy your cigarettes BEFORE you come...the packs of cigarettes on resort are $9.54 each. We got lucky with a guy on the side of the beach. Third time to a Couples resort and it only gets better each time. We went for a beachfront room and it was definitely worth every penny! Incredible views morning, noon, and night. This was our 1st stay at a Couples Resort. It was a great romantic getaway. The rooms were clean and of good size. Built in cabinets and bathroom fixtures are a little outdated. The food was good. Drinks were great at the martini bar. The piano bar was very entertaining! The Beach is perfect!

If there were a percentage amount overall it would be 98%. there was an occasional instance of displeasure,( it was handled by supervisors quickly) but not enough to keep us from returning, in fact we are planning our next trip with more people.

Breakfast is solid (hard to screw up eggs and french toast, though Palm does a good job of it) Dinner is hit-or-miss. Just order everything. Lemongrass: The "Thai" place. It's like being served a slice of spam covered in Worcestershire on white rice and being told it's a burger. Feathers: Ugh. If you visit during the rainy season it just means a short, mid-day shower, during which you hang out at the bar and take in some more Bob Marley. Virtually no people selling stuff on the beach.You may see a musician serenading people with-what else- Bob Marley. The nightlife:house band plays at the Palm. They do a lot of Bob Marley. Everything about this resort as a whole was nice. The room was just ok. We were suppose to get an Ocean View but we arrived later than expected for check-in due to an unexpected change in flights. However, the room we received was comparable. Besides, we really didn't stay in the room, so I cannot knock the hotel for that. The free excursions, facilities, […] and staff were all great. Be ready to hear "No problems Mon" a lot, as they try to make everything stress free. Please do tye-die with Doyle or take a tour with Omar. These guys were awesome and you WILL see them around as they provide a lot of the entertainment on site. Everything is all inclusive, so we didn't have to worry about paying for anything other than souvenirs or paid excursions. You don't have to go off site to enjoy Jamaica, this resort has everything you can want. The food, omg, the food was top notch. Make sure you make advance reservations for Feathers restaurant, you wont regret it. Also, the Lemongrass has excellent Asian dishes. In fact, we couldn't complain about any of the restaurants on site. They even have an 24-hr Bar that serves delicious Grilled Snapper burgers with fries. Breakfast was amazing...The Patois restaurant is the place for this. Banana Stuffed French Toast with an Omelet. Great food! All in all, the excursions, Staff, beach, resort activities, were all top notch. Half of the things you get free at this resort, you would pay for at Sandals. The all inclusive experience was great and the quality/variety of food excellent. Very kind and accommodating to a guest with Celiac disease. The chefs made sure that a severe food allergy would NOT be a problem.
