Sunshine Suites Resort - Seven Mile Beach

Walking distance to the supermarket and other stores, restaurants. The beach is a one block walk only. The hotel restaurant has the BEST burger I have ever had ( kitchen sink ). Seven mile beach has many hotels but the water and location of this one is superb and convenient. Breakfast is vegetarian but great! Thumbs up to Sunshine Suites.

A great way to enjoy seven mike beach without paying $1000's a night. Be careful though, once you are off the hotel premises, even the simplest dinner is costly... Sunshine Suites was clean, modern, and the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Free breakfast is provided every morning. The hotel is in a good location - 5 minute walk to the beach, and stores/restaurants are either within walking distance or a short bus ride away.

Very clean and much nicer than we expected. The bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. The restaurant was excellent. Beach chairs were available to take to the beach. The reception staff were all very pleasant and accommodating.

We stayed 6 days. The hotel was completely full ,but it was always extremely QUIET., and no lines or waiting for anything.Our room was basically perfect .Impeccably clean and big. We upgraded to the kitchenette and it was a nice sized well equipped unit. We were close to shopping bus stop and tours. The breakfast was more than adequite hot food and fresh fruit no meat. The cafe was affordable and the food was as good as we had on the Island. As long as you dont need a beach view thisproperty will be hard to beat.

We love the Sunshine Suites! It's restaurant, the Grille, has the best food on the island. Seriously! Great wait staff - very friendly. Sunshine Suites is a comfortable, lively, warm place with lots of green space to set up a beach chair & fall asleep in the shade or lounge by the pool.

Sunshine Suites doesn't have beachfront property; one must walk down a drive and cross a busy street without traffic signals or pedestrian crosswalks to reach the public beach access. Once there, one must be care not to accidentally step onto areas marked "private" by hotel properties that do have direct beach access, to avoid being "shooed" away by […] security guards. Sunshine Suites also doesn't have private patios or balconies. It does have an amazing staff of hard working, incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly people, without whom a stay would have been a quite different experience. The one bedroom suite, the largest offered at the facility, was arranged "shotgun" so that one enters the living room area, then the kitchen/bath hall, and at the back is the bedroom. The size was adequate although it felt a bit close. The hotel has a wonderful pool/cabana area and the food and service at the grill are very good, although the prices will be high. For the area, they are considered "reasonable," however, given the conversion rate of Cayman dollars to US. Had we known all of this before going, we might have reconsidered and stayed somewhere other than on Seven Mile Beach. Try Rum Point instead. Pročitajte više

I went to Grand Cayman to attend a continuing legal education seminar. The seminar was held at the Ritz Carlton [which is next door] but I did not feel like paying the extra cost of staying at the Ritz, so I checked online and found the Sunshine Suites. I booked the resort sight unseen based on the Trip Advisor reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The […] resort is much smaller than the Ritz, but so was the price. The rooms and the grounds are immaculate, the staff is very friendly and helpful and Paco the resident cat is friendly and even followed my wife back to the room and came in to spend some time with us. The resort is across the street from Seven Mile Beach, but it is a mere five minute walk to get to the beach and Sunshine Suites provides towels and folding chairs that you can use on the beach. The resort is within easy walking distance of "Cost U Less" and "Fosters" which sell groceries for you to use in your room's kitchenette if you don't feel like going out for lunch or dinner. If you like to sight see up and down Seven Mile Beach, the local bus service is $2 CI [Cayman Dollars] per person for as far as you want to travel on the bus route. We took the bus from the resort to Georgetown and back and were pleased that we saved a ton of money over what a taxi would have cost. Breakfast is included in the price but it is a limited menu. The hotel is acceptable for the price, but it is definitively not a 4-star hotel as advertised. Except for the palm trees, it looks more like a motel along an interstate highway than a resort hotel. If you plan to use the beach, you are in for an adventure. You need to cross a highly travel road with no crossing walkway and no apparent right of way […] for pedestrians. If you have children, don’t even bother. Just stay at the pool. The staff is friendly enough, but the condition and upkeep of the place is marginal. The room was dated and the paint on the bathroom door was peeled in spots. To make matters worse, the door lock mechanism failed and we were not able to get in the room when we got back to the hotel late one night. Because the office closes at 10:00 P.M., it took us a while to find a staff member who finally called maintenance to replace the lock. Perfect location and great price. We wanted to experience Grand Cayman but not break the bank. Sunshine Suites was located within walking distance to the beach, close to shops, etc. Rooms are exactly what we needed (fridge, burners, mircrowave, toaster). We had heard about Sunshine Grill and the fish tacos. I have to say they are amazing!

We only stayed one night but I would go back and stay longer. We booked for one night after our timeshare only because we couldn't get the flight we wanted to get home. There was a small kitchenette in the room and it was all very clean and updated and inviting. What a place! If you want all the convenience, quality and service you would expect of this Island but with value for money and a personal touch then Sunshine Suites is the hotel complex for you. Very hard to find any fault and make sure you try one of the Burgers from the Grill! If we ever get the chance we will definately visit again...

Regrettably their restaurant was closed for upgrading the day after our arrival (not related events!) and hence the breakfast very basic, if not we would have given an even better rating. The staff was very helpful with advice on excursions and the service was generally superb. The rooms are fine, but the AC did not quite do the trick for the sleeping quarters. We recommend renting a car to get around to the world class snorkelling at Eden Rock/Devils grotto, Smiths cove, Turtle Reef and other great sites. Shopping/dining areas are scattered far between. You'll want a car no matter where you stay on the beach. For divers - rinse tank, drying racks, lockers. They recycle. The restaurant is good. Staff ARE incredible. Pool has bar/restaurant service. Driving is on the left side; many round-abouts. The hotel offers a function on Tues nights. Don't miss Stingray City (rays are NOT captive). Turtle Farm is a bit depressing (tanks crowded with turtles) but educational - instead, find a place to snorkel where you'll see turtles. Very hot In early September, but not crowded. Excelent service, employees are always smiling from the one at the front desk, bartenders to the janitors. Restaurant burgers and burritos are great! Breakfast was included but it needs a little 'warm upgrade'. High value for the money. I'll surely return and recommend it.

Very pleasant and helpful staff, particularly at reception. The resturant was fine, good food and again, pleasant staff.
