Comfort Inn University - Gainesville

It is a good hotel! We called about also renting a meeting room for a party after booking our room. The staff was helpful in arranging it for us. On the downside, our non-smoking room was on a smoking floor and it was quite smoky at night.

50 yards from I 75 too noisy!!!. Lousy attendant. Room adjacent to stairs on west side. door slaming for everyone going up and down the stairs. Hotel takes dogs, you never know if you are sleeping in the same bed where a dog did.........shampoo but no conditioner. Fridge make noises we had to unplug it in the middle of the night. Everything was excellent until the morning I had to check out. I was still in my room at 1045 and there was knocking on my door. I called through the door that I am still here. 5 minutes later there was more knocking for over 10 minutes! I was indisposed and unable to answer the door. The man was still knocking when I opened the door just after 1100 […] and he started to ask me if I was leaving and then saw I had my bag and then said, "Good, you are leaving". That is not how I want to be treated. I do not want to be disturbed like that again and made to feel like Comfort Inn is happy that I am leaving!! This did not make me feel all warm and fuzzy! The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating but the room was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Good location; tremendous service. The problem was the air conditioner. The room had an Amana brand split type A/C unit. The compressor cycled off and then on every 15-20 minutes and the noise interrupted sleep. The front desk staff coudn't have been better. Pleasant, prompt and so helpful when we needed some documents faxed quickly. We initially chose this hotel as we were planning on bringing our dogs. After we checked in at about 2:30 in the afternoon, the housekeeper just barged into the room to check something. She never even knocked. The room was clean though. There's no desk. Just a small round table. Definately not the best, but certainly not the worst. Will definately do in a pinch. Great prices!

I was plesantly surprised of the cleanliness of the room, its up to date appearance, and simply the overall condition of the hotel. When I checked in there were free cookies and coffee available and the room was clean and very neat. I did not expect any of this after spending the night at several hotels in other states as we traveled up and down the […] East Coast on a college tour trip with my son. Moreover, the hotel adjacent to this Comfort Inn certainly was rated poorly in online reviews, so i expected the same because of its location. This hotel was a few dollars more per night than the one next door. The only negative I noticed were the faucets in the bathroom and in the tub were installed askew and not straight, and the tub drain cover exhibited some rust. I liked the fact that there was a microwave oven, a small refrigerator, and a sink in the room. Additionally breakfast consisted of waffles, bagels, eggs, boiled eggs, chipped beef, milk, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, etc. The hotel is located adjacent to I-75 and next to a major thoroughfare. Easy to find, good central location for our needs, and they honored our request for a downstairs room for my 87 year old Mom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. On entering the room was very cold and the temperature had to be adjusted. Busy traffic could be easily heard at night. Beyond that the room was quite clean, cleaning services werre readily available and breakfast was good.

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 2 years. This was my first experience where I wasn't totally satisfied. Our room just seemed older, especially the bathroom. The tub was well worn with rust showing through. They did provide a bath mat to cover that area. Next time i think I'll try one of the several neighboring hotels.

I always trust and enjoy Comfort Inn. There are several hotels near this one, but of all those there I would still go back to Comfort Inn. The rooms are nice, and they have GREAT pillows! The staff is courteous and helpful and the coffee is tasty!

This was a delightful stay. Phillip at the desk was most helpful in showing us the area around Univ of FL to sightsee and a great hiking trail to explore. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it for people interested in the area.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, not only to us but to other customers that I observed them interacting with. The only down side was that you could hear nearby I4 in Gainesville. But this was offset by the convenient location and excellent choice of restaurants nearby.
