I chose to stay at the Resort at the Mountain to have a weekend getaway and just relax. I got there early and even tho check-in was still a few hours away, they had my room ready for me so I didn't have to wait. My room was amazing (Fireplace King) and the bed was the COMFIEST hotel bed I've ever slept in. I had Happy Hour drinks at the bar with super […] friendly service. The next day I had an amazing mud wrap at the Spa. Because I was enjoying the Spa's steam room and relaxation room so much, the Spa called and asked for my late check-out which the Resort was happy to oblige. We stayed here on a last minute deal through hotels.com so I get the feeling we got a "lower end" room. Though I am not concerned about how fancy my room is they made up for it with the excellent customer service! Marty the bartender is excellent and makes you feel right at home! The restaurant food was good, kind of expensive as it was basically a steakhouse type menu, but the food and service was worth the price. The resort was located near several grocery stores and other food establishments. They were also conveniently located a 1/4 mile right off the main Mountain Highway to get to the ski resorts. The rooms were very nice […] with an awesome selection of tv channels, including a few premium channels such as HBO. Free wi-fi made Internet use convenient and simple. I guess its because I've been to "real" resorts in the past, where they have activities going on for kids and adults, an indoor pool/spa, nature trails.... this place is more like an overpriced motel with a restaurant that has the poorest service I've ever experienced. The room was relatively clean, but no larger or more comfortable than most motels […] I've stayed in. The hot tub was dirty, and the outdoor pool had a giant tent over it that barely covered the whole pool, which means when you walked into this big bubble, you almost walked right into the pool itself, which is not a good thing if you have toddlers like I do. We had dinner and then breakfast at the Altitude, their attached restaurant. The service was slower than a snail climbing up a staircase. Dinner took an hour to be served, and breakfast took nearly 30 minutes. The one saving grace is that they had delicious mac & cheese. Alas, that is not enough for us to return. "Not as nice as it seems online..."
The pictures online are very misleading...the rooms are NOT as nice as they appear and the hotel is old and run down. The cabinetry had nicks and scratches everywhere and the carpet had stains. Also, the heating system was SO loud that it woke our baby every time it kicked on through the night. The brunch in the restaurant was nicely priced (only $9.00 […] which included a drink) but it was not plentiful and the eggs were undercooked. The staff in the restaurant wasn't very attentive, either. We had to chase down people to get what we needed. I would only recommend this hotel because of its proximity to Ski Bowl. "Great weekend getaway, peaceful and pretty place"
