I stayed with my daughter at this beautiful hotel for some mommy and daughter bonding time. This hotel is so old fashioned. We loved it! I kept thinking I'll check out the following day but this hotel kept me coming back for more. We stayed for 5 days. Breakfast was the best part! This hotel was built in 1971 and definitely shows its timeframe. But it is very well maintained and nicely decorated. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. We stayed there 4 nights, and when we came back to the room it was always clean and taken care of. The room was cozy and comfortable. My only complaint is that the room needs a few cosmetic fixes. The chair had a rip on the left side, the shower fixtures were pulling away from the wall, and the iron had the temperature […] button broke off. The iron still worked ok, but I had to be careful not too set it too high and experiment with the temp setting. Overall, I was very happy with our stay and would stay there again. We were in town for the George Strait Concert. Location waas great for our trip. Room was just like what looked at on computer. The mattress were soft, other than that room was as advertised and great breakfast on morning of checkout.

I thought that the hotel was very nice. The lobby had an old timey feel combined with the luxury of a nice hotel. The staff was pleasant, kind, friendly and accomidating. To get to the hotel you have to drive up this windy little drive way and I found that this distance helped keep street noise just about impossible […] to hear, allowing me to rest in a quiet room. They provide a small free breakfast in the morning, which isn't the best by any means but it was better than average. Instead of the stale cereal and coffee cake that is so typical of continental breakfasts, they had real eggs, and bacon and fruit and coffee and waffles, etc. It was just what I need in the morning in a nice and calm setting. This hotel isn't some super fancy stuffy five star hotel where everything feels so cold, but instead it has that nice bed and breakfast down home feel. We came from PA to Greenville SC due to a family member being in a CCU in very serious condition. The inn was recommended on the hospital's web site. All the employees knew why we were there and took the time to ask how things were going and express concern. The lobby had such a southern welcoming feel. My fiance and I stayed in June 2012. It was a very quiet, private, nice hotel. The food in the bar/restaurant was good, service was also good. We used the shuttle service to a concert that night. Only complaint with that was that the shuttle does not come back to pick up if it is a certain hour at night so check with front desk about this if you are […] expecting pick up. Also, schedule shuttle when you book reservations because some people were unable to ride on the bus due to not enough room. Concert was over around 10:30 and we had to cab back. The room was very clean and neat. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We did not use the pool however we did see it and it appeared to be clean but older. The restaurant and bar area, as well as the sitting areas outside, were very nice. It was conveniently located close to the Bilo Center where we were going to a concert and to several of the nightlife spots we visited afterwards. I was actually in Greenville for a funeral. I was very unhappy with the noise level at the hotel. There was alot of parking lot noise that lasted until late in the night. Stayed 2 Nights recently passing thru on Business. I met a Businessman at a Gas Station and he recommended this place. I must say, having a Degree in History and loving Historical Items, this Hotel was a Museum. The Queen Bed was very comfortable with old Grandma Style Bedspreads that were Clean & White with a fresh aroma. The Pool looks to be the original and it is even 8 1/2 feet deep on one end, can't find a pool that deep these days in your newer Hotels. The Breakfast Buffet was a Southern Style Breakfast complete with Grits, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage and made from scratch Biscuits. It was fresh, hot, and very tasty. The Staff was very Friendly!! Even though it is located just beside the City Airport, I never thought it was loud (no jets-just planes) and for the $, I WILL stay here again. The Phoenix had a lot of charm! Less expensive than the downtown hotels but just one exit away... it was an easy drive to the Bi-Lo center for us and we all thought the interior courtyard was lovely. The complimentary breakfast was also a plus... eggs, bacon and more..a real breakfast! We would definitely go there again.

When I booked my room, I was told we would have the pool or garden view.. We did not! The desk clerk at check in and check out was not friendly at all. He was very kurt with his words to some guy on the phone, and his friendliness did not roll over to us as we checked in. I needed a quiet place to stay and study for a test the next day. I have a 2 year old at home. It was a very quiet place. The lobby was very nice. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a $69/night for a standard queen room. It does back up to the small downtown airport. This airport only has small personal aircraft. The Phoenix was very well taken care of and extremely comfortable. Their breakfast spread more closely resembled a breakfast restaurant's than your standard hotel continental breakfast. I would strongly recommend this hotel over any other of its price range in the area.

This facility is charming. Not the newest but very cute. The pool area has trees and grass and a little courtyard area. Not the sterile institutional feeling you get at a big chain motel. The staff was vey friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.

The only problems was the room keys. Some worked and we had to get them reprogrammed several times. The beds were extremely comfortable.
