Convenient location, nice and clean throughout, good breakfast and a comfy bed...only complaint is that the pool was a bit too busy to do any lengths in!

Hotel is rather bland and obviously geared more towards catering for business guests. Rooms were comfortable with a nice bed.. Ordered sirloin steak at the restaurant but it was very tough. It is a perfectly adequate hotel but just lacking in character and charm.

Had a great I night stay. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.The room was very clean and tidy, comfortable bed.The food was excellent. Would recommend.

We had a room that suffered badly from noise. Main corridors frequently people passing the room rattled as any door was closed There was also noise from large birds in the roof above. Hotel changed our room upon request and the 2nd was much better. We were also given a drink to compensate Bar food prices expensive nachos £8.50 Spa was disappointing, […] not clean, rushed and little pool space treatment info was sparse. The hotel gave us each a gift pack to say happy anniversary. A very nice touch. Breakfast was very good, a wide selection for everyone and at weekends they serve until 11am which is most welcome. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful with the exception of the staff manning the spa reception who knew too little. The final thing I would say is about the hotel name. Being 10 miles plus outside Oxford it should really be called the OxfordSHIRE Belfry. We booked with high expectations following recommendations on line but found the service extremely lacking. Soon after arrival we were booked in to a local restaurant and got ready to go out for the evening. We discovered that our basin mechanism in the bathroom was not working and the water would not drain away and reported it to reception as we left […] to go out for the evening. We were informed that there was no maintenance people in the building and that we could change rooms. We did not have time to do this as we were due at a restaurant so were told that a message would be left for a colleague. We returned to find the basin still blocked. It was late and we were tired so went to bed. The following morning the receptionist was less than concerned or apologetic about the lack of resolution to the issue. In a four star hotel I expect more of an effort to be made to ensure the customers comfort and to have no one in the building to fix things like this after hours is absurd. Good hotel , spoilt by poor breakfast. The cooked breakfast was poor, second rate beans, rubbery tasteless scrambled egg, undercooked sausages, spoilt a nice hotel.

Very comfortable & in a good location. Advertised as having Wifi In all rooms but sadly this was not the case in ours. Swimming pool , sauna etc good, but a jacuzzi would have been a good additional facility.

Nice hotel with good facilities though not sure I'd rate it a 4 star hotel. Its very close to the M40 and very noisy though seems ok inside though our room was right at the back of the hotel.

There was a fairground ride outside my window due to a corporate event which went on till midnight and then it was decided to pack up and dismantle the equipment afterwards. The hotel manager was not at all helpful, not able to offer a room at the other side of the hotel nor had ear plugs. I will not be staying or recommending the hotel to anyone.

We Have stayed at a few Q hotels but this will not be on the return list, long long walk to room poor signs/direction staff not on the ball, didnt feel as if they wanted us in for one night. Enjoyed our stay. We were rewarded with a complimentary bottle of wine due to disturbance during the night. The noise was investigated but it was not possible to detect where it came from. I firmly believe it was from the pipes due to somebody showering at 5.15am. Fortunately it did not happen during our second night.

We arrived and were dealt with very efficiently by one of the front of house staff, who was Portugese. He was very efficient and courteous and helped us a few times during our stay. All the staff were very polite and wanting to help and could not do enough for you. We were at a wedding, so only encountered the front of house and the breakfast staff. […] The food at breakfast was a buffet but all the food was fresh and looked as if you had cooked it at home. My wife asked for Poached eggs and they arrived with toast in a few minutes, which you won't get most five star hotels to do! The only negative thing that I could say about the hotel is that there is not air conditioning in the rooms. However, the rooms are done in such a way that they will get warm but it will be controlled somewhat. All in all - an excellent hotel and staff to match. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We only had one night this time and chose to eat in the restaurant after a four hour drive from Norflok. This was the only thing that let down the hotel. Booking a table was very easy with friendly and helpful staff. The problem was the time it took to get served; we waited nearly three quarters of an hour for a menu and then a long time before the […] food arrived. The waiting staff seemed much more concerned with clearing tables than dealing with diners, (this also applied to breakfast the following morning.) We noticed that some of a party of eight on a nearby table had finished their main course before the rest were even served - this worried us as we were still waiting. Hotel was well presented and staff very considerate. Public transport from the hotel was, however, limited but obviously the hotel has little or no control over this. The aim was to park up the car and travel daily into Oxford. This, however, was more difficult than expected.

Only downside of our stay was the hardness of the pillows. They were akin to instruments of torture.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Oxford Belfry - it was an organised weekend with Mercedes-Benz Club - great facilities, excellent food and very enthusiastic staff made this a really enjoyable experience - would definately visit again and recommend to friends and family.

I checked in here and was sent to a room that had just been checked out from and not cleaned. I was upgraded for my trouble which was fine. This hotel was an excellent base for exploring Oxfordshire and the surrounding area. Getting into Oxford was easy - about 15 mins to the park and ride plus another 15 mins ino town. Room well equipped and very clean. No air conditioning and unfortunately the windows would not open fully because there is a metal bar outside about 5 inches from the window, so room was very hot. There was a fan, but this didn't cool the room down. Think the bar outside the window should be checked as the instructions on the inside of the window frame […] said that the windows should be used as an exit in the event of a fire, but this would be impossible. Received a friendly welcome from the staff at reception and although we arrived early for check-in our room was ready. Very comfortable bed, not a massive room but very adequate. Bathroom was clean and shower okay but it wasn't a 'power shower'. There wasn't a shower cap which was needed and I presumed would be there. The down side was that the room […] was excessively hot, so much so that we had to go out into the corridor to cool off after having a shower. Breakfast was good enough for us and we were pleased with the choices; plenty of different fruits, about 4 cereals to choose from and an array of hot breakfast items - all help yourself. Swimming pool looked okay though we didn't have time to use it. I used the gym which was fine although I had to find a member of staff to show me how to use the treadmill. The hotel was really nice,but our first room offered 147 was a bit dusty,with cobwebs hanging from one of the ceiling lights...( maybe it's still hanging....!) Good gym, nice sauna. Food was really superb (the breakfast is one of the best I've had, and bar meals a very high standard and reasonably priced). Rooms are a bit tired perhaps, but nonetheless perfectly good. Great that the Wi-Fi is free.
