We stayed at the Peninsula only for one night, but wished it was longer. The hotel was great and the staff was very helpful. The location was adequate for what we needed. It was a quick cab ride to & from the airport (take a metered taxi). Overall a great experience and a fun time in Manila!

It's hard to tell when you travel internationally if the standards of a hotel are the same as ours in the US. Since most people probably don't stay at a Peninsula that often in the US I'll say that this Peninsula is equivalent to staying in a Fairmont or 4 Seasons. The bathrooms are comfortable, all tile, no wierd grout stuff going on as you often find […] in what is rated as a four star hotel that isn't an international name brand. For me personally it was a treat - I couldn't afford to stay at the Peninsula in the US and to get a room that includes buffet breakfast for $200 a day was so well worth it. You might see that other local 4+ star hotels are $50 or so dollars cheaper but it's worth it to spend the extra $50 to stay at the Peninsula. The buffet that comes with your room is great - fresh baked goods, fresh fruit, eggs, hashbrowns, cheese platter. The outside of the Peninsula isn't so glamourous as I think it's a little bit of an older hotel but the inside and the rooms are tip top. Pročitajte više

They have a class act for the Philippines. Too bad the location, due to street barriers and sidewalks, make it difficult to walk to the malls and nearby attractions. I love their old world charm and friendly, helpful staff.

My daughter enjoyed strolling around the hotel while I have my meeting friends and business meeting at the hotel lobby,,in the lobby having and i am telling our business colleagues here in U.K to stay in Manila Peninsula the next time they visit Philippines.

We arrived before lunch and were offered an upgrade that included a 1 bedroom suite, breakfast, use of the Club (complimentary lunch, morning and afternoon teas, cocktails, computers with printers) and a 4pm checkout. The Peninsula Hotel had an excellent location within walking distance of many attractions. If you don't want to walk, the hotel also provides a shuttle to the malls in the area. First impression of the hotel lobby was excellent and the room gave the same impression. We enjoyed our stay and no complaints of whatsoever. Walking distance to the mall and underpass to avoid crossing vehicles. And a reasonable rate for a five star hotel.

For what I paid, it was not worth the money. The spa area is a disappointment. It took 35 minutes just to check-in. If your working in the city, not a bad place to stay, but I would not recommend it. The staff is friendly and helpful and the free buffet was excellent.

I'd wanted to stay at the Peninsula Hotel for years, but always had some compelling reason to stay at other hotels. Usually location was my primary reason to stay at other hotels. I finally got the chance to stay at the Peninsula though and I was disappointed with the construction outside, as well as the staff. Getting a quick taxi is something I take […] for granted in Manila, but getting a taxi at the Peninsula was time consuming with staff unwilling to help. Twice I needed a taxi and both times I was disappointed with the service. Room service food was of mixed quality. The lunch was superb in many ways, but the breakfast was horrid. The pillow-top mattress was too deep for my tastes and I woke in the morning with a sore back from lack of support. I generally like pillow-top mattresses at other hotels though. Checking out was a horrible experience with a long line and 3 staff members. It took over 30 minutes to check out, then I still waited for my bags to finally be collected by the bellboy. Almost 1 hour to get my bags from my room to the lobby! The pool was clean and lovely, but uninspiring. Some hotels have pools that have character. The Peninsula hotel was just a standard hotel pool with no imagination. Admittedly the service at the pool was excellent. I cannot say that I would stay at the Peninsula Hotel again. Excellent, clean hotel, rooms are very motor table. Lobby is very noisy. Food choices are excellent. If parking, plan for about 30 minutes to get your car, longer if during the busy evening time.

I have stayed here several times and it is always a pleasure. The staff remember you and do everything they can to make your visit as pleasant as possible. A small example - a housekeeping staff member came to turn my bed and noticed that I had eaten both the banana and the mango in the fruit bowl so he went away and came back with 2 bananas and 3 mangoes, […] having deduced that I liked them. My stay at Manila Peninsula was disappointing. The hotel needs a severe updating. The bathrooms are showing age and so does the carpets. Service is still good. Food at the Escolta restaurant and their bakery is average and not worth the money they charge. I used to raved about the bakery goods but very disappointing this time. They tasted old and mentioned […] it to the bakery manager. The clientels are not the same compared to five years ago when I stayed with them. The children are now running around the lobby without supervision. Service at the lobby is still good but the wait persons need more training on how to serve cognacs and other drinks for what they charge. I would not rate this hotel at 5 stars anymore. Their halo-halo still rates 5 stars. I went to a nearby 5 star-hotel and the service and food are excellent and cheaper in price. The employees are dressed the way a five star hotel is represented. I visit Manila often and have stayed in other 5-star hotels. The rooms at the Peninsula are on par with others such as the two Shangri-La or Sofitel, for example. However, I found the service of the Peninsula to be of the highest quality. The staff were more than kind and polite. They were genuinely friendly and aimed to please. In the area are Glorietta […] and the Greenbelt Malls for plenty of fine dining and movies. May I recommend something out of the ordinary for Southeast Asia -- "Cyma." This is a Greek restaurant in Greenbelt 2 with a varied menu. Another of my favorites is the outstanding (albeit spendy) Teppanyaki restaurant in the Shangri-La Makati, "Inagiku." Unlike other table arrangements, this restaurant offers a cook per couple at the teppan 'counter.' I enjoyed the feel of it and even more so, the delicious food. One extra plus that I always appreciate is complimentary internet. But, this was no ordinary (and too often typical) WiFi. I checked it's speed, and it clocked in at just shy of 15 MB/sec. Just lightning fast. In the end, the Peninsula is an outstanding choice and one I'd recommend to anyone. We upgraded to a Suite at a very mininal expense. The suite was very roomy and comfortable. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive and friendly. This grand hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Makati's business and shopping districts. It is a five-minute walk to Greenbelt shopping area. It has well-appointed rooms, impeccable service, a nice gym with all kinds of amenities and an outdoor pool.
