Lots to do, and we just stayed at the resort the whole time. Couples beach area seemed much nicer than the neighboring resorts. Trees on the beach gave lots of natural shade. Service was great for an all inclusive. And the resort just had a nice vibe. I plan on going back someday.

We had a great stay overall. We stayed in the Beachfront Suite, second floor, which provided a window view of the ocean. The patio overlooks the grounds below, which featured trees and the plankwood trail leading to the treehouse massage area and a swimming pool/jacuzi. Our room was visited several times a day by the cleaning staff (we could tell). […] The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and closet inside. The tiles appearead to be well-worn and possibly in need of new grouting, but otherwise it was clean. The restaurants were good, but don't expect true, authentic jamaican food. Even though some of the dishes might be named after local fare, you could tell that it was prepared to accomodate American and European palates. The beaches were lovely. Any purchases made at the hotel gift shops will be billed to your credit card, which is convenient. My only gripe, and it is a small one, is that when we checked out of the hotel, we reviewed our bill and noted a $5 donation to one of the local charities. When we asked the concierge about this, he said, "Oh, that's completely voluntary. We can remove it if you like." We chose not to remove it, but it would have been nice to be asked whether or not we want to contribute to a charity. Our first impression of this resort was not very favorable. It appears from the weathered paint that they needed up keep but after seeing more of the resort it became evident that they were trying to maintain that look to blend in with the trees and flora surrounding the buildings. I understand that they were heavily booked but you would think given the number of rooms that they could at least get 4 rooms in the same building. However, we enjoyed our week at Couples Negril. This was our first time at this couples resort and our stay was great( we have stayed at couples swept away previously and also had a great experience).The food was excellent at the buffets and the restaurants, and there was a pretty good variety at each meal. This was our second time at Couples Negril and we didn't regret going back - another superb holiday. The location and beach are superb, the hotel facilities and restaurants are excellent, and the food and drink in endless good quality supply. For tennis players there are excellent courts (flood lit in evening) with almost daily coaching available in […] the AI package. For golfers the local golf course is interesting (undulating fairways with some tricky and very picturesque holes) and of decent quality. Green fees and transfers to/from the course are included in the AI package, all you have to pay for is a mandated Caddy ($14 for 18 holes) and an optional Buggy/Kart ($34 for 18 holes- $17 each for two sharing). This is my fourth trip to CN. I had paid a bit extra for an ocean view room and was disappointed that they put us in a room on the first floor overlooking a koi pond. I have been to 3 other all inclusives and this was my least favorite. We did not have a bad time here but certain things made the trip not as enjoyable as the other hotels we stayed in. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible. The "Deluxe" ocean view was not deluxe at all. We were so far away from the beach with a lot of road noise […] and we were not the only couple complaining about this. The buffet was pretty bad. Food was pretty much the same every day and was not that good. Lychee restaurant was not that great and the second night we ate there the service was so bad we left before dessert. Can't really complain to the server though because tips are not being made. The lack of room service was pretty disappointing. We really enjoyed this feature in other hotels but did not have it here. We did enjoy the beach grill and the Otaheite restaurant. Service at the bars were great and all bartenders were fabulous. Piano bar was fun at night and the drinks on the beach were all nice as well. Couples Negril have many repeat visitors and I can certainly see why. The resort staff were extremely friendly and helpful without ever seeming intrusive. If you need them, they're there. If you don't, they leave you alone to relax and enjoy the beautiful resort. The grounds of the resort are beautifully landscaped and well kept. The salt water pool […] is large and very clean. The beach is great and has plenty of lounge chairs with floating pads in each. Just raise your flag and someone will soon come by to take your drink orders. We enjoyed snorkeling, but there are tons of other water activities that are included in your stay. The food in all of the various restaurants is outstanding and there's something for everyone at almost any time of the day or night. Great service with very helpful staff. I would recommend this to anyone who is wanting to go away with their significant other. This would not be particularly fun if you were single. It is also not suitable for young people looking for a party but a great place for relaxation, fun activities, and a fantastic beach to lay on.

My wife and I went to Couples Negril for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. We stayed in an Oceanfront Deluxe Room (small upgrade for view) which was fine but will probably up-grade to a suite for our next visit. The activities are numerous, fun and the staff was very good at bringing people together for impromtu events. The food was very good....Nice […] breakfast buffet, but lunch time was a bit limited in choice. Dinners were great with several choices from ultra casual to very fine. Do not pass up the spa....large menu, great service and an increadilble staff. I would recommend this resort for people looking to get away for a quiet, relaxing trip. The nightlife is rather subdue so don't expect an all-night party, which is not suprising since there is so much to do (if you want) during the day. Couples Negril, has a relaxed feel. The grounds are kept up very well; the rooms are a little older and are in need of some updating, which they were working on while we were there :-). The hotel is older than the pictures depict. The bathroom tile grout lines were very dirty in our room. The room smells dank and musty but its not unbearable. The food and drinks were amazing and the activities were excellent. We used the spa for a treehouse massage which was also amazing. Each restaraunt & bar had different hours which weren't posted clearly. Having no phones, we never knew what time it was, so knowing when to show up to events was a bit of a challenge. A a big clock in the pool area would help, so bring a watch with you. Also venturing out from the resort was troubling, the locals were intimidating, but after venturing out and seeing he other resort options in Negril, I am confident that we made the right choice in slecting Couples Negril & would definately stay there again. We spent 5 nights at Couple's Negril, for our honeymoon. The hotel staff were overall very friendly and accomodating. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. We spent most of our time either at the pool, at the beach, eating or relaxing in our room. The pool and beach areas are very nice. The only irritation was that some […] people would claim the chairs in the shady areas, and hold them all day, even if they were not there for hours. The only complaint about the room was that there was no fan in the bathroom. We did see an occasional bug in our room, as other reviewers have noted, but it was a more a function of the environment in which the hotel is set, and not a result of not being properly maintained and cleaned. Our room was cleaned everyday, and the turn down service was great. Having never been to an all-inclusive, we were curious if the food would be good. And it was very good. We ate at the reservation only restaurant once, and it was very good. Most evenings we ate at the Heliconia Grill, and the menu options were very good. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also very good. The snack bar during the day kept us from ever being hungry, however the service there could have been a little more efficient. We had a great time on our honeymoon, the entertainment team does a fantastic job of having fun activities to do. The food was great and hardly any wait to get seated or get drinks. We were surprised by much there was do to. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, we should have stayed a few more nights - it would have been well worth it.
