Palm Royale Cairns - Manoora

We had a great time & will book again to go back to Palm Royale Cairns - staff were very helpful & friendly. Room - very clean comfy with lovely king bed. Pools clean , only about 10 min drive to CBD, only slight criticism is the fridge was rather way too small & fairly old TV with no dvd.

very affordable if you get it on a discounted rate. the family room for 2 adults 2 children was excellent. I was very happy with the bedding arrangements and the staff were lovely. good location very close to local buses and also grocery shopping across the road.

We found the staff very helpful, with information about tours etc, food options and even finding lost clothing that fell over the balcony. The only thing that I felt uncomfortable in was the pool, it was very warm and it had palm nuts & small leaves in the spa and the pool area. Wonderful. Big room. Bed was so comfy. I was on the 3rd floor & the elevator was most welcomed. The pools & spa area is well kept and inviting. Location is so close to the centre of Cairns and there is a small shopping centre across the road.. Their staff are their best asset .... I would stay there over and over ... Thank-you for a fabulous stay

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this hotel. The room was clean and well kept. Unfortunately there was no wifi or Internet capability in the room because it was out of the wifi zone. However, the overall experience was pleasing as the hotel was close to all areas of cairns. Please bare in mind that I hired a car.

The Hotel needs a revamp! It is not in a good area, the last night we were there, people were swimming in the pool at 1.00am in the morning making a lot of noise and it was not even Hotel tennants, it was youngsters from the area!, not very impressed at all!

The pools were probably a 5/5 however the area (suburb) itself was not the best. Was concerned about on street parking was hoping the car was safe every night. Had no issues. A lot of the indigenous people hang around. Staff were lovely 5/5. I took a picture of the pools as i enjoyed that, I didn't take photos of anything else as it didn't impress me […] too much. Rooms were more 3-3.5 star I usually only stay in a 4-5 star so was a little let down. Shops across the road and less than 10 minutes to the city - I might stay closer to the city The Esplanade next time saves having to hire a car ..15 minutes to airport (taxi to airport $26) No room food service & you have to pay for the safe daily. For the price it's great, would recommend to friends however I would point out the above and let them make their own decision. My partner and I stayed here over the Christmas period and found it very relaxing. The only downside to this beautiful hotel would be that it is quite far from the city of Cairns, beyond walking distance in the heat. There is however a bus that you can catch into the city, but the times are not too regular. Taxis to the city cost about $20.

The hotel was older and very much outdated but for the price, provided the basics. Location is far from the CBD and nice dining, so plan on hiring a car or work cab fares into your travel budget. My partner & I stayed here for 6 nights Dec 2012. It's my 3rd visit to Cairns and I did not want to stay in the city centre. Our time here was to do as many trips as possible and could include overnights so we wanted budget accommodation. Although this hotel is a bit dated I would recommend it. The room was made up every day had an iron and ironing board plus there are several laundry rooms within the grounds. The 2 swimming pools were great and accessible between 6am-10pm. The hotel has a bus which runs frequently into the city for a small charge, last pick up from the centre was 9pm, the journey takes approx 15 mins. Other than breakfast there are no restaurant facilities but a two min walk takes you to a shopping mall where you can buy groceries, alcohol or take always etc We are a couple in our late 40's and this accommodation was perfect for that part of our holiday. it is rather old infra structure hotel. the room was spacey the staff was generous. I wanted to extend my stay but they could not allow it as they say the hotel was fully book. The location was very far from the downtown area. The hotel needs upgraded, & the room was run down & seemed dirty. I paid for Internet, but couldnt get network to work anywhere in the room. Went outside on the balcony & kept changing areas, but never could get the email sent. Glad I was only there one night!

The hotel is too far from city and beach. The hotel only good is the swimming pool. Breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am, but 8:30am some food is finished, the stuff in the kitchen don't want to make some more.

The pools were beautiful and spotlessly clean. Lagoon pool is just gorgeous. The gardens are kept pristine by the hard working maintenance man. The little shopping centre right across the street was very convenient as is the close by public bus service as well as bus shuttle offered by the hotel. The internet service available is fast and the room and furniture are comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good and catered for many tastes. Negatives were minor such as mildew on the plastic awning around the breakfast area and visible from the pool looked shoddy and just a couple of small cockroaches terrifying the kids in the room, but considering the humidity numbers were minor. Great value but beds are aged( too soft) , airconds are too noisey for comfortable sleep, shutters are see through when shut you can see in at night from the pool. The oil smell in the lifts is horrible, but would stay again for the cheap price.

Nice and comfortable hotel, really pleased with our stay! The bathroom was nice and clean and we got fresh towels every day as well as getting bin and bed made.Hotel staff was really forthcoming in answering any queries we had, although the reception area was packed. Location of the hotel is a bit inconvenient if you are young and want to go out and party, as the bus transfers stop at 9pm, taxi is affordable but it adds up over the days... Location for bus tours is no problem as the bus pick-up/drop off is just outside the hotel, really big bonus!! This hotel caters to large chinese tour groups. If not for these, I'd say this hotel would be closed. It has seriously seen better days and needs a renovation. Another gripe is that the surrounding area has nothing to offer and is a large distance from town. Don't go for breakfast - they ran out of eggs AND bread. Not much of a breakfast.

The hotel is too far from the city center to walk to. There are no real restaurants around either, except for fast food ones. They do have a shuttle service for a small fee. The swimming pool is beautiful. They also have washing machines and dryers available.

I spent 6 nights in the hotel and was very satisfied. The staff is keen on helping and arranging trips, airport transfers, and explaining the possibilities of adventure :-) The hotel rooms are quite good, air-conditioned and comfortable. It would be really nice if the hotel was equipped with WIFI and better TV.

Room was very clean and the pool was awesome however the beds and pillows were very old and uncomfortable. For the price, this was a good hotel. A car is very necessary though as hotel is a bit far away from town and most things. Breakfast was very disappointing and quite expensive.
