Hotel Morgan is the best choice for staying in downtown Morgantown. The hotel restaurant is one of the best restaurants in town. My only real complaint is the breakfast. The description did not mention a continental style breakfast. The breakfast was very disappointing, especially for a hotel that has such a great restaurant on-site.

This classic old hotel, once the Hotel Morgan, is a little gem. Unfortunately, it seems not many people know about it. Beautiful woodworking in the whole hotel. My friend and I were visiting for a sporting event. The hotel was close to all the bars/restaurants of downtown and a couple blocks from the PRT station, which was helpful in getting to and from the game. Overall, it was a good trip! The staff was helpful and nice. I read a lot about smells and stuff, and honestly, it smelled perfectly normal.

Great experience for the price! I've stayed at Hotel Morgan three times, and it never disappoints for the location and for the comfort (considering the fairly cheap expense).

Hotel was centrally located to downtown. It definitely had the feel of a older hotel, but the room was large and clean. Staff was very nice. The complimentary breakfast had little to offer.

Great location for downtown access. Somewhere I believe I read that this hotel is either a landmark, or it is a hotel with historic significance. Well, unfortunately, a trip back to yesteryear has a price ... how do you get rid of history's odor? I understand the hotel is now non-smoking, but this is one of those hotels you can't help but reminisce […] (as much as you hate to) about how it was like when people did smoke in hotels. I have stayed in luxury hotels that were in very old buildings, but subsequently remodeled. Somehow they get rid of history's odor ... The Clarion should seek out those experts! A shout-out for the staff - Not only was the desk clerk who initially checked me in very pleasant, but all the workers in the hotel seemed to take special pride in working there. The icing on the stale cake - I called to inquire about checkout in the evening before I was to leave. The clerk responded "11am", but immediately followed the statement with "what time would you like to check-out?" I said I had a meeting in the morning, but I didn't know when it would end ... the clerk responded "how about we make it for 1pm, and if your meeting extends beyond that just call the desk and we will adjust the time." I ended up having a quick meeting, and checking out by 10am. I won't go back. Hotel smells really bad and has really dreary, depressing feel to it. The complementary breakfast was horrible. Not even fresh brewed coffee and had plastic plates and utensils and bad environment. The monitor in the "business center" was 10 years old and unusable. The hotel is in a good location in a hilly town. Our room was a spacious and comfortable suite.

Everything was wonderful. There was one challenge with the check-in time. I had an e-mail that said check-in time was 3 PM. The hotel said it was 4 PM. I think if the check-in time is so late, check-out time should be later than 11 AM. I loved the hotel, but felt that the cost was too high for the minium amount of time you are allowed to stay.

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We had an emergency evacuation due to a patron using a fire extinguisher as part of a joke. Staff was very timely in helping us get back into the hotel after this unfortunate event.

This hotel is couple of miles from interstate exit. If you get there after 10.00 PM better grab something to eat close to interstate before you come to hotel. You need unload in front of hotel and then go park in a place around hotel. We loved the ambiance of an older hotel that has been updated with modern features. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The only negative was the fact that the "welcome" package included a 2 for 1 drink offer in the restaurant, but the restaurant did not know anything about it and would not honor it. This is a lovely gem of an old hotel which was somewhat refurbished sometime mid century but with quite possibly the loveliest hotel staff I have dealt with in a long time. The rooms are small but the refrigerator magnificent. Nice TV, not so comfortable 3/4 beds with a very uncomfortable sofa bed and peeling wall paper but nonetheless charming and […] clean. They bill a breakfast, but don't bother as what it is, is a lovely elderly woman manning a waffle iron, a few boxes of bran cereal, 2 bagels and maybe 4 or 5 tiny hostess donuts and some yogurt. The coffee is that of brown water and I think I saw a few small cartons of milk, so either charge more and do something real or don't bother with this fake breakfast. Otherwise, a step back in time with, again, a lovely staff. Great location in the middle of Morgantown so if there for downtown University perfect location. Parking is SELF, make no mistake, there is no valet parking and it is across the street (about 2 blocks) so drop off your bags at the door and then go park. Otherwise if you have to go to Morgantown (and we did because our son is a grad student there) then this is a great place to stay, but maybe opt for a king, but if bringing the family prepare to snuggle! One of my favorite places to stay in Morgantown. It's in a great location – just below the dinning district. The floor of the hotel don't have vending machines, but I can forgive this since there is a convenience store within walking distance. Their parking area is small as well, and they share the lot with two other businesses.

I can say enough good about the Hotel Morgan! It has been beautifully restored to what must have been it's former glory with lovely woodwork, window treatments, wallpaper and chandeliers. The breakfast was just so-so. They do include yogurt and some fruit with the usual offering of donuts and other carbs. The internet didn't work in our room, and I heard other guests comment that theirs didn't either. However it works fine in the mezzanine and that's a perfectly comfortable (if dark) place to take care of internet activities. The hotel got hit by lightening and fried the internet equipment. Although this is easy and cheap to fix, it took them I think 5 days to fix it. For some people, Internet is very important and I was not the only one who was complaining about that. I drives for 11 hours and was really tired. I stayed awake till 3:30 in the morning because it was really […] hot and the AC was broken. That was the only double left so I had to change to a king bedroom to sleep on the sofa's bed. What made me angry is that they tried to book the same room to my friends without fixing the AC and without even telling them. The ice machine was also broken and there were spiderwebs andbugs next to window outside my room. It only costed me 20 more dollars to book in a nice clean hotel where I felt safer and more comfortable. On the other hand, the staff are really friendly and helpful.
