The front desk staff who booked us were not very helpful. hotel cleanness and basic comforts were lacking. For example we had to call and get the air conditioner exchanged and bedding and carpets i would say not the very best. Our towels were not replaced on the first day and we had to call the front desk and get them replaced in the next day night, […] They should replace the towels next day morning. There was no accessible microwave or refirdgerator for guests to use. The renovated rooms look great, but the owners should have considered updating their heating system. Heater was a small heater in the window that buzzed all night, keeping me up and it was impossible to set a consistent temperature. Always either too hot or too cold.

Nice house as you can see at the photos and rooms are ok but what photos doesn't show is that they only repaired part of the building. Stairs, corridors are more like student rooms feeling. Nothing special and no complains at the same time. They don't say anything about how much you have to pay for parking ($17 + tax) # almost 20$ which is too expensive in my opinion (this probably because there is a little space) which is again is not my problem, I will find some other hotel next time.

This has become my favorite Toronto Hotel out of about 10 where I have stayed over the years--- comfortable, quiet neighbourhood yet near all major downtown events & facilities. Homey atmosphere, great staff & best continental breakfast of my experience in Toronto. And reasonable price compared to others.

This is a modest but very comfortable hotel. The location is fine; very close to public transit which gave us access to everyting Toronto has to offer. We usually like to walk everywhere; however we mostly used public transit during this visit because it was rather cold and windy outside. We found the hotel road and interior noise level to be very low which was very relaxing and enjoyable; especially on a week end. Not sure if we were just lucky or whether this hotel is this quiet all the time; still very nice.... The complimentary continental breakfast is limited however it is well presented, has a reasonable selection, and the breakfast area is bright and nice to sit in. The overall interior hotel decor is a bit dated and could do with a bit of refreshing however; we felt the low hotel rate far outweighed the need for a "perfect and ultra-modern decor". I really enjoyed my stay at the Clarion Selby. There weren't many guests that night, but they still had several staff working, so I felt very safe and was able to ask for anything I needed. The room was small, but still very nice, and had everything I would have expected to find in a more expensive hotel (coffee, tea, coffee maker, cups, glasses, storage, […] self-adjustable temperature). The only complaint I would make is that the bathroom was cold, and the heating unit mostly just heated up the bedroom. Also, the blanket on the bed was very thin, so I had to ask for a second blanket (which was brought to me immediately by the very friendly staff). The hotel has a computer and printer for guests to use, which is so convenient! The hotel is located close to a couple of grocery stores, so I could pick up healthy snacks (which were less expensive than going to a restaurant), and across the street there was a Timothys and several small restaurants, so I didn't have to travel far. This hotel is further north of downtown at the end of Jarvis. The building is old and no elevators, so if you have laggage, be prepared to carry it up the stairs. The breakfast is very basis and after two days of having it, you just dont feel like it.

My stay was good. The only problem of that hotel is the parking place. It belongs to the hotel but they are takin C$17 + taxes per parking day which sounds really bad if you consider another hotels which doesn't take at all for parking while you are hosted. Then the price is around C$20 more than another hotels.

I forgot my razor at the hotel. Since I'd asked the front desk to arrange a taxi, the hotel sent my razor in the taxi, even though the taxi was picking me up at the conference, which was 1km away.
