"Good Hotel, great breakfast."
The room was excellent and clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, really one of the better free breakfasts I've had. I only have one complaint, the A/C - Heating unit. There is no way to separately control the fan and the temperature. Therefore, you're left with two options. Turn on the fan which will provide steady white noise, […] but the room will end up getting too hot/cold. Option 2, set the temperature, which will automatically cycle the fan with enough noise to wake the dead (or at least this light sleeper.) This is a good place to stay in Salina. Our room was clean, bed comfortable but the room lacked some of the usual amenities that one takes for granted. Our room was missing an armchair and footrest and there were two identical pictures hanging in the room. Breakfast was included and there was a good selection of items. We picked this hotel because we were traveling with our 5 month old German Shephard puppy and many hotels either don't accept pets or charge for the pet. We often end up staying in hotels that may not be the best just to be able to have our dog with us. This hotel met and surpassed all our expectations! pool was very small and freezing ! No hot tub, which the La Quinta we stayed in Joplin , MO was very nice - hot tub , large pool and heated. After staying in Joplin , Mo, I said I would always stay in a La Quinta hotel. BUT , I was very dissapointed with the one in Salina. Staff was frendly, breakfast was ok, but only for business people passing through.
