"Successful Business Trip"
The location of the hotel was perfect for my buisness trip. Even though it was a quick turn around if I had more time it wold have been a perfect location to grab a drink and walk around during the day. The only issue I had with the room was the air conditioner. It was very loud! it did not disrupt my sleep because I was so exhausted from the day but […] it definitely did produce such a loud noise that it was noticeable and a little annoying. The hotel was very clean with a fresh updated look. I've stayed in many Hilton Garden Inn's and this one is similar to others. I know what to expect. The only thing I would grumble about is the attentiveness during breakfast. It's not real clear that the hot breakfast is not free and requires you pay for it. The two days we ate breakfast there I had […] to go and settle up the bill because we did not get noticed by the waitstaff/attendant either day and it wasn't a busy morning. It's a minor thing. I could not have been more pleased with my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. I chose this hotel hoping for a nice alternative to the ridiculously priced options around the convention center, and it was right on point. My room was clean, spacious, and quiet. The bed was soft and cozy (yes, the bedding was clean). Great desk with free wi-fi. Fridge and microwave […] to store and reheat your snacks/takeout leftovers. Neutral-scented Neutrogena and Bath & Body Works toiletries. Timely shuttles to and from the convention centers on both days of the bar exam. Lastly, a wonderful and accommodating staff. I wish I had a chance to explore the neighborhood more because everything looked supercute, but fun wasn't exactly on the itinerary for this trip. The hotel is immaculate and in a cracking spot just 1 block from all of the action. We were in a room at the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor and heard no noise from outside at all. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and everything you need. Planned our stay so we wouldn't have to choose a designated driver for Guavaween. This place was perfectly located for enjoying the several music venues throughout Ybor while having our nearby hotel. Room has a small microwave and fridge so we even could stop by and drop off our dinner leftovers and keep going without it being a hassle. Only negatives: […] choices were a king or 2 double beds no queens (although beds were very very comfortable), parking was tight with the hotel fully occupied, and don't waste time on the breakfast buffet unless you are there on a non-event day. It seems to be a bargain at $7.95 but our experience was negative. Food was hurriedly prepared to get it out for the larger crowds, and resulted in uncooked grits and nearly raw bacon. "Not terribly thrilled here"
We picked this since it's within walking distance to The Castle in Ybor, so it's great when we attend events there. Unfortunately, the bed is pretty terrible. It's this strange "adjustable bed" that supposedly goes from Firm to Soft, but it's more like Firm to Slightly Less Firm. This last time the sheets were pretty horribly stained as well. The hot […] water takes forever to get going, and the elevator is slow and makes concerning sounds when you ride in it. Breakfast is NOT included, and certainly isn't worth the $8 they charge you. "Great Alternative to Staying at the Hard Rock"
Overall, our stay was great - it was about a 10 minute ride to the Casino, and the rooms were typical of a Hilton property. Clean and comfortable. A couple of things to note: You have to pay for parking and you also have to pay for breakfast. "Right next to the best of ybor"
The room was clean and the service was great. The AC, on the other hand, could use some help. It was broken when I checked in and while the maintenance man was quick to fix it, the room stayed strangely humid during my entire stay.
