Excellent hotel and excellent hotel staff. You can not go wrong staying here. Check out the "Nines" restaurant for breakfast and lunch. I loved the chic decor! For dinner, the "Portland City Grill" on the 30th floor of the US Bancorp building was hopping place with excellent food. We couldn't get reservations in the dining room, but the bar was actually […] more fun because it had a live pianist who played all sorts of great songs. The view there showed all the best parts of Portland. For a late night Bar, check out "Cassidy's". Hotel was great and what you would expect for a Westin. The location was perfect. the famous Food Trucks basically across the street, and the big shopping area near by. This hotel may be fine overall, but my experience was not good. After getting into our room and cranking the heat we left the hotel and went out on the town. We returned at 11pm to find our room was still the same temp, 66 degrees. I called down for service. The individual they sent up had no idea how to fix it. At 11:30pm we moved to another room. […] We had a large room on nearly the top floor with a great city view. They moved us to a much lower floor, much smaller room and with a view of the side of another building and some heating/cooling units. I understand that late at night the options for moving rooms are not great. I was less concerned about that and more concerned that neither that evening or the next morning were we offered anything for our inconvenience other than they sure were sorry. That doesn't cut it. "lovely above-average hotel in good location"
We were two couples in two rooms. Our king-bedded room was fine....spacious and comfortable bed. The bathroom was exceptional in terms of size and fixtures. We were surprised, though, that in my brother's room with 2 queen beds, there was no easy chair. They had just one desk chair for sitting/reading, etc. There was a nice coffeemaker in the room, […] but we didn't use it since there was morning coffee in the lobby.
