Overall, our stay was good. The hotel needs a little maintenance but everything worked. Our visit was met by a front desk clerk sucking on a straw - not at all professional.

The hotel was actually a "motel" with the rooms right off the parking lot instead of an internal hallway. We may as well have spent the night in the middle of the parking lot as all night long we listened to idling car engines, slamming car doors and guest carrying on loud conversations as they came and went at all hours. Needs definite updating, wouldn't have minded if the price was more in line with what you got. Our original room was right next to the restaurant /lounge and suddenly at 9PM a live band started to play very loudly just 15 feet from our room. I got our of beda and went to the front desk and Gary, who was on duty, was able to give us another room, far from the band. We were grateful.

maidservice was good, but the desk clerk during the day was snippy with me when I tried to get a boiled egg at 3 seconds after 9:00 in the morning- if you are stuck here don't even think about getting breakfast or a roll or bagel after 9:00. The coffee pot is a chintzy single-cup maker that works good but only does one cup at a time-not good for 2 adults who both want coffee in the morning- and the sugar and creamer paks have one creamer and one sugar each so get alot of them! The restaurant seemed popular to the locals so we visited for dinner- the steaks were cooked a little on the raw side, and were tougher than most. But my biggest aggravation was having to keep the food cold by putting it in the ice bucket ( for 6 days!) since there is no refridgerator in the room, and we asked for one and I guess they just forgot, and I don't think they have microwaves, cause I never saw one. needles to say we threw out all of our leftovers each day. The rates for this place are about double what they should be. This was definitely a major disappointment. The room was not all that clean upon arrival. There was still toilet paper and feces in the toilet upon arrival. We booked a king room non smoking for 3 nights. We fell into bed very tired the first night without looking things over very well. We arose to find a large pile of dirty clothes in the floor of the closet. This really grossed us out. However, the staff handled this very well. This was one of the better hotels I've stayed in over the years. Kristy was very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a restaurant and pub that offers good food. The rooms are some of the best-maintained I've seen in a city the size of Pittsburgh. I would definitely recommend it.

Access to all rooms is from the parking lot outside. I wish I knew this before I arrived. It rained the entire weekend and I was traveling with my wife and two small children. The first Non-Smoking room we were given smelled funny - like it used to be a smoking room at one time. The fridge was old and made a loud "buzzing" sound. At reception we were treated very rudely as we had booked through Hotels.com. made us felt guilty for not booking it directly from them. Room given had no wireless Internet. Before we were denied for a room change than eventually new staff got it done. During breakfast items were not refilled, had to ask for refill.
