"If you have to be downtown, stay here"
We attend a tradeshow at the Seagate every year. The Park Inn is attached which is very convenient. But, it's a short walk to this hotel from the Seagate, this hotel is much nicer, and it is very well run. For my staff and I, we found the rooms quiet, comfy, and clean.

The hotel was nice and in a great location for what we wanted to do. The only thing I suggest changing is the required valet parking at $16 a day to park my car only a few feet from the front door. The crown plaza was very nice to stay at, very spacious lobby; elegant surroundings. Long story short, what a nightmare. Had to switch rooms because come to find out, furnace was "gutted" and no heat would come out. Maintenance guy was baffled that they would put me in a room with no heat. Worked 2-1/2 hours to get internet service to no avail; finally switched rooms. THAT room didn't have heat either. Still no internet. Another maintenance […] guy told me there were other problems with it. I had to use my phone as a modem. Tough to conduct business from this hotel. Restaurant/bar area was freezing cold, as well. I am a road warrior and can put up with a lot but this place, while it looks good, cannot be judged from its cover. "Nice hotel"
The hotel was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. The parking situation was ridiculous. You had to pay $16 for the valet then they parked our car about 10 feet from where we dropped it off. Seemed like an awful lot to pay for my car to sit out overnight!

The free shuttle service to our event was wonderful; however, we were very disappointed with many things at the hotel. Since it has become the Grand Plaza, things have really gone downhill. It wasn't busy. The bar and restaurant had bad hours. In fact, we never saw the bar open. The room walls were dirty. Someone replaced the bathroom mirror and got glue all over the wall. Room service wouldn't answer the phone when we wanted to place an order for breakfast. All went well for my and my girlfriend's stay. The room was clean and comfortable. I actually haven't had such good sleep in a long time. However our two night stay was slapped down to one without my notice. I received the bill for the valet parking under my door and on the bill it showed my departure being one day short. I took it to the front desk […] and they couldn't confirm that I had reserved for two nights. I went to use their computer to open my email and print the receipt and their printer didn't work. The lady at the front desk couldn't get up for 30 seconds to take a look on the screen either. However she did have me email it to her. All in all we wasted a good hour and a half trying to get my 2nd night confirmed. Be careful, they charged me twice for the valet parking when I only used the service once. "GREAT PLACE TO STAY AFTER A CONCERT"
Saw Tool at the Huntington Center, needed a place to stay since I live North of Detroit. The price was reflective of what you got. Not bad. Breakfast was terrible and they made us pay for it. Other than that I have no complaints.

We were in Toledo for the Cheerleading & dance Competition at the Sea Gate and are Group stayed at the Park in with no pool. We paid the extra to stay at the Grand Plaza for the pool. We were not informed at time of booking about parking and what seemed to be mandatory valet parking. Unfortunately we had to bring 2 cars which doubled my parking along […] with tip and then I had to pay again at the Sea Gate. Next year will probably just stay at the Park Inn. "No Overly Impressed for the Crown Plaza"
The hotel has a great appearance but lacks some quality. When arriving we pulled up to unload/valet the car. We asked the price to valet and location and price of other parking options, the attendant could not answer any of those questions. Check in went smooth. We were staying for a weekend wedding. Considering it was just 2 of us in the room the […] size was adequate but the bathroom was pretty small. The shower curtain rod was pulling out of the wall and drain was clogging. The room finishes were nice but some just damaged. Considering it was a Crown Plaza I expected a little nicer. The hotel was close to things down town and right on the river. "Very good breakfast but the pool is tiny."
The swimming pool is tiny. We brought the swimming suits, but the pool is to small to fit 3 of us. However, the breakfast is very good and high quality, particularly the 5-star view on the Maumee River.

Pros - The hotel was beautiful, the room was amazing, and it was a great location. Now the cons... The staff was unfriendly. The check in process, asking for more towels, asking for a food recommendation... you name it, they were very dry and annoyed. My wife and I stayed on a Friday night at the Crowne Plaza for a concert. We were able to check in a half an hour early even though the desk boy was giving us a hard time because he didn't fully read my license and was under the impression that I'm under the age of 20. The Staff at this hotel were great, especially the Valet team! Appreciated the free shuttle service to local restaurants. The A/C in the room was less than acceptable, not much cold air pumping, given the hot temperature outside. Enjoyed the location on the waterfront and boardwalk.

Hotel clean, we were only staying two nights and hotels.com put us here at the last minute after moving us from the Crowne Plaza, which was at our request. Good basic hotel, lacked a pool. Fitness room was nice. They do not clean rooms during your stay, which wasn't a problem for us but could be during a longer stay.

From getting out of our car with Valet up to customer service checking in it was a good experience. Lobby was very clean as was the room. Loved how close we were to the River and all the businesses down town. Cab ride was only $5. Will definately stay again when we need to.

First time staying at this hotel, and the room was very nice. The bathroom is small but not a big deal. The bad thing about this hotel is you have to pay for parking! The valet is $16 at the hotel , or there is parking garage down the street that you have to pay also. I have never been to a hotel that charges for parking!

I read the reviews prior to booking but being the only 3.5 star (the highest rated hotel in Toledo) and needing a place close to 5/3 Baseball Field I took my chances. It turned out the reviews about the air conditioning were true, upon check in around 2pm I set the A/C to 60 degrees, to be safe, and at check out the next day the temp was still around […] 72. Our room was clean and comfortable however the bathroom sink drain leaked, well it actually poured. The pipe had a considerably large hole that wasn't noticed unitil morning when there was water all over the bathroom floor. We informed the staff, they didn't seem to concerned, and we proceeded to check out - my boyfriend and I were over Toledo and just wanted to get home. Beautiful hotel. Front desk staff not overly friendly. Had dinner in the restaurant overlooking the river. Server was very friendly but food quality was poor. Substituted menu items for what we ordered and didn't mention it when serving our food. Overall it was an okay experience - just few small things were "off".

We arrived on a day of very bad weather (snow storm) and I asked if it were possible to check-in earlier than the 3pm check-in time and the desk clerk was more than accommodating. The room was just as nice as shown on the internet and the Aqua Bar was awesome. Enjoyed good conversation with Sara (bartender) and guest. Beautiful hotel and beautiful view […] (river). One of the best features of this hotel was that it included complimentary transportation for up to 2 miles around the clock. This was very convenient when spending a night out with friends in the city.

Friendly staff. Poor air conditioning. Poor hot water service for showers. Some of the bed linens were not clean. On one of the hottest and most humid weeks of the year the hotel air conditioning seemed to be set at 76. I was in room 1012, the air conditioner was "fixed" two times, and I was given a fan that did not work. I was then given room 1008, […] and after the air conditioner was "fixed" in that room I was given a fan that did work. At that time I stopped complaining. There did not seem to be a point.
