My husband and I came to Salishan for a New Year's Eve get-away. No complaints about the room at all but after dinner in LC we decided to go back to the lounge at Salishan to be close to home. We had a 28-hour post-Christmas getaway at Salishan Resort on the Oregon Coast. I had requested a room with an ocean view, and it did not disappoint. They gave my room away before I got there even though it was paid in full. Expedia helped resolve this. An employee entered my room without knocking. NO INTERNET while there for a conference! Yuck.

My husband and I went for a belated anniversary celebration and some much needed relaxation. The staff were very nice and accomodating and our room overlooked the golf course which was nice. The room has a balcony overlooking the forest and the fareways. Very quiet at night. Nice fireplace. Food in the two restaurants were vey good. The establishment is little dated. The room promised bottled water. Unfortunately it was nowhere to find. Other than this everything was clean and nice. In our opinion internet should be complimentary rather than 5 $.

Outdated refurbished furniture. Looks like our room needed a major update and renovation. It felt completely outdated and defintively not a 4 star. Service was extremely unpersonal. Will not stay there again.

This is a resort of the first order. The food was wonderful in the relaxed Attic bar room and simply fantastic in the main dinning room. Our room was as large as a junior suite in most other hotels and even came with a gas fireplace. We will return on our next vacation in Oregon!

It is a bit of a walk to the ocean but a nice walk all the same. A nice getaway, and we didn't use the spa, and only used the driving range for an hour. Big room, nice view, nice staff.

We arrived just after 9pm, found our room, then tried for a snack at their Pub/lounge which they were very strict on all food cut off at 10pm. So we went to bed unsatisfied.

Reserved a deluxe suite with fire place, was expecting ocean view to be included. Room was dark, but okay, bed comfort was exceptional. Room was clean, but deferred maintenance, shut front door and patio door would pop open and would have to slam door to close and chain lock was only way to lock door, dead bolt did not work. Did include refrigerator, […] but no microwave??? Smaller television, higher end prices, Staying at resort, husband enjoyed golf, but spa was not accommodating, requested a facial, could only offer a massage or body scrub, that was higher priced took longer, stated had already booked full for facials??? Lovely setting, nice rooms, but why the awful pillows? The bed looked so inviting and then we put our heads on horrid stiff foam pillows. Too bad... The attic lounge was great! Nice staff, good food and drinks at a reasonable price.

One of our favorite locations on the coast, friendly attentive staff, easy check in and check out. Our room had a fabulous view of the bay. The only drawback that was a bit inconvenient was the fact that we had to wait several minutes for the water in the shower to heat up. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

Great place. Rooms just need updated. Say they have MP3 player for phone or iPod there wasn't one. This place if updated it would be the best on the coast. Spa is wonderful golfing was great too. Rooms are just outdated.

We have always wanted to stop here on our way South and indeed had the time to do so. The hotel is first class! We had dinner in the dining room with a great meal, scallops were wonderful, service was great though they did not have a true chocolate lovers desert, so did not try deserts. Salad was also great and good choices there. The nature trail is […] wonderful taking down to the beach took about 20 minutes from our room, highly recommend the walk though you have to look out for golfers as you cross the fairways. It was our first time staying at the resort and we were completely impressed with the all the resort has to offer. The pool & fitness room are open 24 hours, which allowed my family to use those facilities with few other guests. The setting of this resort is beautiful with lots of nature walks and activities as well as being just a short walk from a great beach. The beach was pleasantly empty. The hotel room itself was spacious and clean. We also enjoyed a great breakfast at "The Sunroom" restaurant on the property. Overall, a great experience!

Salishan is "tired"......the room furniture except beds need updating as does the carpet. Also, Salishan needs Plazma TV's in the room.....they are definitely behind the times. I felt at check-in, the desk person was non informative of any activities nor directions of places to go and see plus he seemed preoccupied. We requested toilet maintenance and […] they never showed up......The restaurant is overpriced for breakfast. The best thing about the stay was the bed.....great comfort. The rooms were wonderful, clean and very comfortable beds, the decks with rocking chairs were so peaceful. Only down side, thought across the street was the actual ocean, found out it is the bay. Thank goodness we only stayed one night, this place didn't live up to the expectation or price. When we first got to our Deluxe room, it was HOT. We called down to the front desk who informed us there was NO A/C in the room and they would send maintenance down to check the thermostat. The guy came down and said everything looked fine and offered to […] bring fans for the room. The only way to cool down the room was having the front and back doors open with both fans running on high. Our next issue was the dust, there was a thick layer of dust on everything in the room. It must have been a while since the room was last used but at least dust it. And last, this resort is extremely old. The TV in our room was an old bubble TV that couldn't even been seen from the bed because of the angle of the dresser. Everything in the room looked like it was out of the 80's. Overall the hotel stay was good. We were not aware that the rooms would be outdoors, or that the spa and shops were located across the street from the main building. The indoor pool was great for the kids especially since the weather did not cooperate during our stay.

The Shalishan Resort is very beautiful. We enjoyed our stay. The vent system did not work in our room. The management quickly brought a fan to the room, but it was still too warm. We enjoyed our dinner at the grill. We used the hot tub and pool and they were both nice. The pool area needs more lounge chairs. We would stay again.

We stopped at the Salishan on our way south from Seaside to the California border along US Hwy 101. We were making a liesurely cruise down the coast, and the Salishan was a lovely and refreshing stop. The hotel rooms are nicely appointed lodge style arrangement, with a balcony and a gas fireplace. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, and none […] is needed throughout most of the year, but if you happen to be there on a hot day you may have an issue. The grounds are lovely, providing a number of activities (including a nature trail, golf, putt putt, swimming and tennis) to keep you fit and amused. Our last stay at the hotel was a nice one. We have stayed there a few times before and was much happier with our other rooms. This room had a fewcarpet problems which needed mending. The cleanliness of the room and bedding, towels, bathroom were excellent.

I've driven the Oregon coast too many times to count, and always wanted to stop by Salishan... and so happy to finally stay at this great resort!!! The room was fantastically large, with some really nice touches here and there, all tucked away in a nice wooded setting that provided lots of privacy. The view from the rooms private deck was breathtaking. […] We had reservations at Prime (the NY Strip was "five stars" delicious!), which was small but cozy. Great wine selection, fresh menu, delicious cocktails, and friendly waitstaff. Our host could have been a little warmer on the reception, but the overall experience made up for it! The room was extremely nice and the view from the balcony was amazing. The covered parking was ideal for the Oregon weather as well as the covered walkways. The amenities were really great as well. We used the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi all of which were excellent. There are several restaurants on site, but we opted to eat out on the town.
