My expectations were not for a 5* hotel but this property was definitely one of the best in its class. The building was well kept, tidy and clean. My room was comfortable, clean and had all the amenities you would expect. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was as it should be. Would definitely recommend staying here.

First let me say that I'm from Carlsbad California. I knew where the hotel was going to be but I was pleasantly surprised to find such a big, clean, comfortable room at such a great price. I have nothing negative to say about the hotel except this: Whoever the idiots were above me who stomped around like a herd of elephants from midnight to 5 AM meant […] I got no sleep. Big room, great staff, loved the complimentary breakfast. The only down side to it, is the freeway you can hear all night. At first I didn't realize it was the freeway, I thought it was a truck sweeping the parking lot, but then fell asleep and didn't bother me afterwards.

Main problem with this hotel is that it is fairly noisy from the highway. If you get a room at the back would probably be fine. Also there is only one restaurant that is within walking distance. The restaurant is very good though.

We love this motel and stay frequently whenever we are in Carlsbad. The location is perfect, the rooms are very comfortable, clean and well kept. The front desk staff are amazing and even remember us each time we go. It is right next to the freeway and some have commented that the noise is bad, but we've never been bothered by it, once in the room with […] the door shut, it's fine and we've stayed in many of the rooms on each side of the building. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed the free breakfast each morning. The only draw back was how close to the freeway. I woke up a couple of times the first night from traffic noise.

We loved our stay. The room was beyond our expectations. The staff was friendly. Free breakfast included. We saved so much money on the hotel that we were able to spend that money on shopping and nice meals.

The hotel is located conveniently to the freeway, a restaurant, grocery store and park. The staff was friendly, room was clean, but very loud from traffic noise. There appears to be no weatherstrip around the door as you can see a gap and hear all the noise of the area. Breakfast area is reasonable for the price.

We had a terrific stay here. Very spacious, comfortable room. There is freeway nose, however, it is so constant (being i5) that is is "white noise" that is not at all a bother. Walking distance to a restaurant, grocery store and pharmacy. Easy on and off from freeway. A long but doable walk to the state beach if you are so inclined.

Hotel is very clean and well presented. Our family stay was a comfortable and happy experience. Although, it is next to the highway, our room was well insulated from the noise. We would , however , like some meat like ham or sausage included in the continental breakfast if possible.

I booked this hotel as "just a place to sleep" as we would be arriving late and departing early. The staff that checked us in at almost 2 am was very pleasant. We were surprised when we got to the room that is was very nice and spacious. It offered much more than most other, more expensive hotels. I will definitely stay here again.

Hotel was not bad, service was slow. The hotel is not within walking distance of any shops, restaurants, or any type of leisure activity buildings. U need to drive across highway to get anywhere.

One exit away from Legoland, within a very short drive to both downtown Carlsbad and the beaches. Only two little complaints -- the bed in our room was too soft and offered no support at all, and the noise from I-5 was pretty loud (which I expected, since the hotel is right off the highway). I have a 3 yr old, in hotels my wife and I like to sleep with our daughter between us for many reasons. So we wanted to book a room with a king size bed, problem is if I put in 2 adults 1 child, it wouldn't let me book the king bed room as there are "too many people". So I booked the room for 2 adults not thinking it would be a big deal. I checked in […] and got my room keys then I walked through the lobby with my daughter the front desk person jumped out from behind the counter saying I lied to him and I signed the receipt saying it was only 2 guests. I told him that we wanted the king size bed for the 3 of us, not a room with 2 queens and this was the only way to do it. I said if there was difference I would pay it, saying that we are not 3 college kids trying to pull one over on him, my daughter is 3 YEARS OLD. After a shouting match with him for 10 minutes he finally called his supervisor who in 2 seconds said it was fine. We went on our way. I walk in toward the elevator and look around seeing that the whole hotel is open air, in a U shape but small, only about 40 rooms. Didn't think anything of it until we were trying to go to sleep and we could hear every single door that opened in the whole hotel. It didn't matter what floor we were on or they were on, or where in the U shape it was, every time someone went into or out of their metal door, BOOM!! All night. We thought the room was terrific. Really surprised because, for the price, we were expecting much less. We were also worried about noise because the motel is adjacent to the highway. But the rooms are very well sound proofed. It was also terrific to have refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and hairdryer.

Great except for the 8 lane freeway 50 feet from hotel entrance . . . The only escape from the noise was in my room, at the back of the hotel, where the freeway noise was low.

The hotel was very nice and clean but the noise from the freeway (right in front of the hotel) was close to unbearable. If you want a good nights sleep definitely do not stay here. I feel the rooms need to be better soundproofed. If that were the case my rating would be an excellent.

There is no access to a computer or a printer. We had to go to FedEx/Kinkos to print our Legoland tickets and again to print our boarding passes.

Front desk folks friendly, room was clean. The location of hotel is right on Interstate highway 5 and very noisy, needed to the heater running so we couldnt hear all the road traffic outside. Breakfast food was ok for a hotel that is right next to a major highway.

Staff was helpful and cheerful. Hotel is two blocks from two clean and easily accessible gas stations. Short 4 minute trip to the I-5 N/S ramps, the main highway of commute in the region.

The property is located about 50 feet away and on grade with one of the noisiest freeways in Southern California. There are no noise barriers between the freeway and the hotel.
