It was great staying at this hotel. The best part was the pool. Relaxing. Just perfect.

Very nice place to stay with great pricing. Nice pool and spa with plenty of room for sunbathing or barbecuing. Only recommendation I would have is the rooms need microwaves.

Beautiful & perfect place for a wedding, romantic vacation, perfect family vacation hotel. This hotel we stayed at for 10 days in February. Because the hotel was so beautiful we came back for family vacation for another week. I can't wait to come back soon.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Don't like their policy of only being able to check in around 4pm. The day is almost done and that's not very convenient for travelers. 10am or 11am check-in would be much better. Otherwise it's a good place to stay and pretty reasonable.

I am a return customer.It's a big surprise when I came to reception.It changed totally.It's very much upscale now and I've learned that it changed to a new managemant.The room is renovated and is very nice. I hope they will keep it up and keep the same price.

Before I stayed at the Caliente, I stayed at a neighboring hotel. The Caliente was much better and far less expensive. A very nice pool, staff, service. When I returned home, I realized I left my shirts in the closet. They sent them to me that day and I received them in two days. That's great service.

The tropics is a great motel at a great price. I wouldn't think about staying anywhere else in the Palm Springs area. Just a five minute drive to the downtown area, it's super convenient and has a huge pool area. Plenty of shade and a huge pool. What's better than having your car ten feet outside your room's door?

Great reto tiki style architecture . Very large pool and spa area. There are about 100 chaize lounges in yhe area, so you are sure to get one for sunbathing. Nicely decorated rooms and very affordable. I would recommend a visit here.

It was pretty expected considering the price. The ice machine was broken making the trip to the other side of the hotel a hassle. The front desk manager Shawn was very professional and polite, but the overall experience was just OK. For the price, I guess that was to be expected. You get what you pay for.

I cannot express how incredibly disappointed I was by this hotel. They claim to have the 3rd largest pool in Palm Springs and that is definitely NOT true. The pool furniture is old and sun worn and there are only 2 small umbrellas available at the 2 tables. The "cabanas" were nice, but they were in a separate gated area away from the pool facing a patchy […] lawn/dirt area. The phone in the room didnt work so we had to walk to the lobby when we had any questions. The wireless internet didn't work and when we asked we were told that it was just becuase there were a lot of people probably on it and it couldn't handle it.. There were old burn marks in the counter and the bed was loud and spring-y. The TV was at least 20 years old and grainy. The point of this weekend was to relax by a pool and have a comfy calm weekend. we had to go to a pool at ANOTHER hotel to find that relaxation so that we didnt have to look at the Pabst Blue Ribbon truck parked next to the pool or listen to the radio of the other people at the pool. The Hotel was decent and located in a good area. Day shift desk was very nice and gave me a large room. Asked for extra towels at night and never received them. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and handy to downtown.

Gabriel Camarillo at the front desk handled Hotel.com billing screw-up with grace and patience. we will see if Hotel.com makes good on rectifiying problem.hotel is very nice,well kept,with nice pool and spa. room was imaculate and comfy. highly recomended,especially for price paid.

The hotel was easy to find and close to the center of Palm Springs. The front desk staff were very helpful and offered us extra towels for the pool. Our room was large (Polynesian suite) with a separate sitting area with couches and a coffee table. The beds were really comfortable and the pillows were great. The room was very clean but definitely showing […] signs of age (carpet coming up at the corners, mold on the wall under the sink where the wall paper had peeled, broken blinds, shower head partially blocked by build-up). The pool is fantastic and and the hot tub is huge, though not the cleanest (layer of sunscreen floating on the top). Our 2-year old really liked the tiki torches around the pool and all the blow-up pool toys. It was relatively quiet though I imagine it could be noisier on weekends because the rooms open out directly onto the parking lot and the pool. The front desk staff did say that if the pool noise was getting too much to just call and they would sort it out, though it wasn't a problem at all. I choose the hotel as a last minute stay, the free wi fi did not work and I was unable to get anything down that evening that I needed to. Also, the phone in my room did not work to call the front desk, so when I tried with my cell phone, it took about 3 minutes to get to a voice mail. Would definitely not recommend this hotel for business stay. They advertise they provide internet - wireless. It is not true. It only works in one room and then the other two or three are getting the internet from that room through the wall. If you going with your family and kids, it's a perfect hotel. But if you going with friends its a very quite hotel. Not much happening. the View of the pool is great though. The bad thing the hotel had no Restaurants, and our shower didn't have hot water. the location is good its 5min driving to the downtown.

The hotel had a very 60's charm. Quite retro! With all the tiki theme and decor. The room was spacious and very clean. The front desk needed more staffing but in all the service was friendly and great!! The fitness center was nice and the newly remodeled lobby was as well. The hotel needs a poolside bar/restaurant.

The good things: swimming pool was fun for the kids, super pet-friendly, nice staff, pretty clean and comfortable. The bad things: The other reviewers were correct in saying that it is kind of loud, there's not a lot withing distance, no snack bar or restaurant on site.

The hotel is located just close enough to downtown but not right in the middle. Pool area is great. Although an older hotel, it fits the Palm Springs image of a lost era.

In its day, I am sure this hotel was STILL just ok. The pool , which looked nice and people were definitly enjoying, is the centerpiece of this "renovated" 60's motel. The staff at the front desk was nice enough. HUGE, empty lobby is a testimony of what used to be...I'm guessing, a diner ? The rooms , serviceable . Room was clean, but I saw one mattress box spring "stained" when the sheets came off by accident , and that prompted me to sleep ontop of the covers but not the bed spread......we've all seen the 60 minutes story on THOSE. Shower valve was on verge of breaking off, locking mechanism on front door loose, fridge not really cold and old tube tv's which is always a sign the renovation $ was limited.
