When I booked the hotel, I forgot to mention that I needed Two Double/Queen Beds. To rectify it, I had called the hotel and gave them the request directly. The lady confirmed that our request was in the system, but when we got there they said that they are full and have no rooms available with 2 beds. Since I was late, I had to take the upgrade for […] a Suite with a King bed and a pull-out couch; which is very uncomfortable (have slept on pull-out beds on multiple other trips). I had to pay large amount per night for the upgraded room, so I cancelled the reservation after the first night and stayed at the Crowne plaza nearby, which was a much better experience. It seems as though this hotel used to be a leader in its class. Now it's just overpriced and 22$ for parking even if you are a registered guest. If you are looking for a nice hotel with great amenities and not to be charged parking. Stay somewhere else.

Daily rates for parking? kind of lame, also internet was additional, no breakfast. I'm probably not going to stay at this marriott again. Inane small fees targeted at business travelers make me not want to get nickeled and dimed.

Beautiful hotel, but not that close to SFO and no late shuttles. During the hours they run shuttles are every hour and trip is 15-20 minutes.

I was wowed by the service from the staff, from arrival to room service to the warm greeting (and hot tea!) I received every time I arrived and departed. Will stay again.

Hotel was very nice. I was dismayed that parking was $22. No in-and-out privileges. I don't think this was made clear when res. was made. After check out, to exit the gated lot, one needed to have your electronic room card. We, and many others, had left the cards in the room. What a mess was created. SUVs just drove over the curbs. I recently watched a CNBC segment on Mariott in which an economist working for the company explained how they're attempting to "maximize revenue" and that he can't sleep "knowing we've left any money on the table." That is what the experience at this Mariott felt like: A hotel chasing profit rather than providing high-grade hospitality to their guests. […] Wifi? An extra $10 an hour. Excellent hotel, clean, well kept, excellent Jacuzzi and Swimming Pool, 2 or more rooms with gym equipment, my only complaint would be their parking charge... $22 a day?!?!?! OUCH!!! All else is fine... however... VERY EXPENSIVE PARKING!!!!

I attended a conference at this hotel over a 4 day period. The hotel did a great job of organizing the rooms and the breakfast buffet. During the entire conference, never did I encounter a hotel employee that wasnt smiling, helpful and friendly. Every corner in the bathrooms, elevators, hallways was gleamingly clean. Spacious large room. Sofa bed was actually decent. No problems for my family of five. The breakfast buffet was top-notch!! Was surprised by the $22 self-park fee. Overall a great experience!!

A little farther than I would have liked from Airport and a little pricey. Overall, the hotel was fine. Clean. I checked in at 11pm and the front desk was empty and 3 people in line. There was also some kind of kid event that weekend so lots of teenagers running around in the lobby. Overall the hotel was fine.

This was a very nice hotel. I would tell anyone who did not have a car to stay here. I did not realize that there was a charge for parking here. Other then that it was fabulous.

The hotel looked very nice, the decorations were elegant and up to date. The hotel was spacious and looked well mantained. The only thing I didn't like was that the overnight self parking for guests rate was very high for 24 hours in/out. SInce there is nowhere else to park if you are driving you have to park in the hotel...

This Hotel is near less than 10 min away from SFO. Easy to find and get to. An older Hotel but has been updated. The staff was very nice and helpful and let us know about available upgrades. I would stay here again. Very nice for the price.

The room would have been 100 % perfect but for two details. 1. Who decided it was a good idea to have the coffee brewing set up in the bathroom, just about 3 yards from the toilet? The most ridiculous thing I've seen. Needless to say we moved it -- onto the small bedside table, because there were no usable electric outlets by the bigger tables. 2. Who […] decided it was a good idea to have the fully loaded towel rack inside the bathtub area, facing the shower head? Even theoretically it seems to be a splash zone, but I tried showering very carefully yet the towels did get wet before I had a chance to use them. Was the same person involved in both decisions? We enjoyed our recent stay at the San Mateo Marriott hotel. The hotel itself is clean, the service very good, and the rooms are comfortable, although there was no fridge or wineglasses supplied. This was the WORST experience I've ever had at a hotel and I've stayed at many hotels all over the country. I had too many major issuse to list, but the minor issues included requests to the hotel staff that were unfulfilled, the hotel was not adequately staffed, and one of the elevators required maintenance that seemed to be ignored. In addition the […] hotel held a party that I did not attend that required armed security and for those in attendance to be searched. I asked if this was a dangerous crowd and is that why they needed so much armed security. I was basically told yeah don't worry about it, we hope nothing goes wrong. I'd recommend to anyone staying there that they call ahead to find out if a club type party is being held there. The "hotel guest" parking lot was filled with party goers that were not even guest at the hotel, I know this for a fact because I was able to move my car from across the street into the "hotel guest" parking lot after the party ended. This was a terrible experience I ever had, the front desk staff has NO manner/patient; unhelpful, in-polite phone manner. They need to have more customer service training before start working!! Very disappointed, such a good hotel with NO standard/Poor customer service. (Only the Concierge was very helpful)

Great location. WIthin 20 minutes drive to airport. Very nice and clean although this hotel is suited for business, as the inside is very business look. Great gym, if you must use it on vacations (not mua). If you don't have a car, it's best to eat in the hotel. Did walk for 20 minutes and didn't find anything worth walking that distance. Another thing […] I was a little dissapointed is the parking fee. Stayed one night only and had to pay $20.00, not sure if you pay for the complete stay or per night. I understand if you are in like downtown area where parking is very rare, but c'mon, this hotel has its own parking lot with hundreds of spaces and when I asked the lady at the counter she reply it's the norm in SF, say what? Stained carpet, stained furniture upholstery, room was not super clean... tray that held coffee pot/etc clearly had not been cleaned in a long time... general state of room was "pretty clean" but not "super clean." I would not have been disappointed if this was a lower end hotel, but it was not spic and span as I would expect from a Marriott. Rusty […] old fixtures still in shower from previous shower heads, including one in the ceiling that dripped...toilet did not flush properly... had to fix myself, the little fridge ran the whole time and was loud... I could not unplug, as plug was behind giant piece of furniture. And the lighting. Ugh. They are waving energy using the compact fluorescents, but they are using the cheaper/older bulbs that give off a horrible florescent quality of light. While the hotel was a bit further from the airport than I thought (It does have airport as a reference) it is a beautiful, comfortable hotel and I would definately recomend it to others. I would suggest that they increase their shuttle service to at least two times an hour.
